For auction on ebay is my original California 1970 Dodge Challenger.   Please check out all the photos below.  The car is Sublime Green and looks awesome.  If you are looking to be different this is the car for you.  It is very striking and the color combo looks great. Please read everything below to see everything done to this car and help answer many of the questions you may have. The car still retains its original trunk floor and has NO rust.  The car was bought from Swift Dodge here in Sacramento and has been here all of its life.  Very dry climate here.  I have original owners manual and warranty card still as well.  No rust 1970 Challengers are just not out there anymore.   I will break down each area to describe all the work done.  Car runs and drives great and just needs a new owner.  This is a SE or Special Edition 70 Challenger which are a bit more rare then the hard top version.  This is also the most sought after year(1970) and collectible Challenger that was produced.  The SE features a smaller rear window, top of door trim, rear tail light panel, Hard cover headliner with overhead console, SE sail emblems and carpeted door panels. Please see below for details:

Body- Car has new paint job that was done 2 months ago.  Quarters, top, sail panels, floor boards, frame, rockers , etc, are all in excellent shape.   The car is very straight and looks great.  FJ5 Sublime Green.  All trim, bumpers, door handles, grille , taillights, etc were removed prior to paint.  Engine bay and trunk also painted without engine installed, so it was done right.   Grille and taillights along with tail panel in very nice condition. Grille has no cracks or breaks.  Nice front and rear bumpers.  All stainless is original and in excellent shape. This car was stored for a very long and only recently brought back to life. Has nice original trim around the car. New hood pins as well. New emblems throughout the car.  R/T side stripe, hood black out and black vinyl top.   New Go wing spoiler as well.   New hood and wheel lip mouldings.  Has R/T rear valance with original tips installed. New challenger and R/T emblems replaced.  Hood has 440 Six Pack emblems as I was going to put a six pack set up on the car.  The front K frame has been replaced to a 440 six pack K frame with the skid plate.

Interior-  All new interior including new carpet, seat covers, dash cap, package tray, trunk mat, and trunk mat  Nice original door panels.  The car is a bucket seat/ Console shift car.  Dash gauges are nice and bright and look excellent.

Engine-  Has a rebuilt 440 HP engine.  All new exterior accessories for reliability purposes.  The engine has less than 1000 miles on it and runs great.  New distributor, carb, starter, etc.  Motor is a stock rebuild with mild cam.  Has new 2 1/2 full exhaust with tips out back. Motor is ready to drive and everything under the hood has been replaced.  Motor has 70lbs of oil pressure and everything is new.  Since everything was replaced the car has been driven about 20 miles.

Transmission- Fully rebuilt 727 automatic transmission with new torque converter.  Shifts as it should with correct kickdown linkage.

Driveshaft- new ujoints on both ends and speed balanced.

Exhaust- Brand new 2 1/2 exhaust with stock turbo mufflers and tips out the back.  Original tips were reused.

Wheels/Tires-  BFG's with original style black steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps. Original spare tire with all jack accessories and tire inflator bottle along with jack.

Electrical- Lights, turn signals, hazards , dome light, headlights , etc all work as they should.  Has new engine harness. New dash harness, headlight harness and back up harness.  Has new wiper motor as well.  Light bulbs were replaced.  New turn signal switch, ignition switch, ignition lock and key, voltage regulator, flashers, dash bulbs, horn relay, wiper washer motor, starter relay, etc.  Lots of electrical attention was given to make sure lights and components all work as they should.

Misc.- Wiper washer bottle/pump and hoses are new.  New 26" radiator.  Glass all in good condition and windows roll up and down great.  Has new weatherstripping in trunk and doors.

Brakes-  All new brakes on the car along with new hardware and new wheel cylinders.  New master cylinder as well. Has Drum brakes. New rubber brake lines as well.

Suspension-  Suspension completely rebuilt 2 weeks a go.  New bushings, ball joints, tie rods, idler, strut rod and sway bar links.  Suspension was bead blasted and looks great underneath.  New front and rear shocks as well

Rear end- Stock 8 3/4 rear end with 3.23 with new fluid

Underside-  The underside of the car was given the same attention as the top of the car.  The underside is VERY clean and has seen no water or debris.  Extremely clean underneath.

Fuel system-  New gas tank , sending unit, rubber seal, ground strap, fuel line and fuel pump , feeding into a new Edelbrock 4bbl carb.

Overall as you can see a lot has been done to the car to get into the condition you see below.  The car has a ton of new parts and hundreds of hours going through this  Challenger.  The only thing not hooked up currently is the radio.  Radio turns on and works but needs speakers hooked up.  Its the stock AM radio.  Look around and try to find a 70 Challenger with this much work recently done for a fair price. Rare opportunity to own an affordable 70 Challenger with all the hard work done.  Get in and go!

1970 Dodge Charger destroyed by man sick of lowballers — he showed them!

Thu, Oct 31 2019

There are open and shut cases, and there's this one, the purchase and crush case. This is so wild it's hard to believe it's real. Apparently a man named Daniel Gagliardi bought a rusted-out 1970 Dodge Charger project car with the intent to flip it. Contacted by The Drive, Gagliardi said he bought the car for $4,200 and listed it for $8,500. "It was a complete car," he said, "not missing a single thing inside, out, underneath, under the hood, wasn't missing a damn thing. Had fender tag, VIN tag, clean title." Instead of negotiating with serious buyers, Gagliardi told the outlet a stream of jokers jerked him around for six months. The time-wasting took a toll, and after 180 days of "no-showers, thousands of no-showers, and a whole bunch of flakers" who didn't have the decency to bring a decent offer and cash, he decided to teach them all a lesson. So he destroyed the car, filmed the destruction, and cheered it on. The humorous and ironic part of the video is when Gagliardi tells another man off-camera, "But we got it first! We already robbed it, you can only rob it once!" After that levity, there's only chagrin for anyone sad to see a Charger meet its end so spitefully. Admittedly, however, and in spite of all the vitriol aimed at him, Gagliardi is free to destroy his own property. He's not the first person to crush a car capriciously. Any divorce attorney could tell you a book of tales about precious goods meeting ugly ends for vindictive reasons. Or there's the guy who, commenting on Gagliardi's video on another site, relates how he crushed the Yamaha quad he wanted $800 for after he "got tired of people offering me $200." Ah well. This won't be the last time. Warning for language, and exceptionally shaky video. If you're hungry for more Charger carnage after this, check out the cinematic obliterations in "7 Ways to Destroy a Charger."

2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody to race at Pikes Peak

Thu, Jun 27 2019

The 2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody may be world's most badass Charger right now, but it won't be for long. This weekend, Dodge will unveil an even more serious Charger, a one-off racer that will run at Pikes Peak. Tim Kuniskis teased the race car during the Widebody reveal. It will have more power, more tire and more brakes than the road car. He didn't provide exact numbers for any of that, but we at least know it will have more than 707 horsepower, tires wider than 305 millimeters, and better brakes than the regular Hellcat. He said it will have an upgraded version of the Hellcat's 6.2-liter engine. We wouldn't rule out 797 horsepower like in the Hellcat Redeye and in the company's One Lap of America Dodge Durango. We suspect we'll have more concrete details and photos of the car very soon, since the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb takes place this Sunday. One other tidbit: Kuniskis said that we shouldn't expect any of the parts from the race car to show up as Mopar accessories. But we bet there will be plenty of aftermarket companies more than happy to help paying customers recreate it.

Junkyard Gem: 1990 Plymouth Voyager Turbo

Mon, Feb 4 2019

There was a time when the word "TURBO" was king, and even Detroit minivans came with nervous, hair-drier-boosted engines and screaming TURBO badging. Why, some of them even had manual transmissions (sadly, not this van) and in the case of the 1990 Plymouth Voyager Turbo I spotted in a Denver self-service wrecking yard, a lysergic purple paint plus a Bordello Red interior. The first-generation Voyager minivan (not to be confused with the full-sized B-series Voyager van that preceded it) was a tremendous smash hit for Chrysler. Because it came from the K-Car platform, most of the powertrain options available for other members of the many-branched K Family Tree— from the Mitsubishi Astron to the Chrysler turbo 2.5— went into the Voyagers, Caravans, and Town & Countries. The turbocharged 2.5-liter four, rated at 150 horsepower, was an option for the 1989 and 1990 Voyagers. That doesn't sound like much today, an era in which the Voyager's descendants churn out close to 300 horses, but it was lunacy for a front-wheel-drive family hauler that weighed just over 3,000 pounds. And people eventually discovered they could be made far faster than stock. Voyager shoppers could get five-speed manual transmissiona with their Turbo 2.5 engines, though few did. Still, there were more Voyagers and Caravans with the 5-speed than you might think, in part because of the manual transmission's lower cost. The slushbox didn't conquer the Chrysler Corporation Minivan World until 1996. Nissan probably had the most vividly red interiors of the late 1980s and early 1990s, but Chrysler didn't lag far behind. Look at these acres of shiny red plastic and tough, red I Can't Believe It's Not Velour! Because minivans remain useful for decades, most of them have high odometer readings by the time they get junked. So at a little over 115,000 miles, this one may have had a busted speedometer cable. Speedometers reading better than 85 mph were legal after 1981, but perhaps Chrysler decided not to encourage lead-footed hoonery among minivan drivers. This content is hosted by a third party.
