Up for sale is my 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in B5 Blue.  I have owned this car from new and have pampered it as a show car since.  For the first few years she was my daily driver until I moved her to my classic car collection.

I got this car with every available option which includes the very rare B5 Blue Pearl Paint.  This color was only offered in 2009 and rolled over into 2010 due to the Chrysler bankruptcy.  Additionally many B5 Challengers were R/T Classics not SRT8's.  Final production numbers (as I have found) are that they made 239 B5 Blue SRT's in 2009 and 83 of them were automatics with 156 being manual 6 speeds.

These SRT's came with everything and the option list was basically: Sunroof, performance stereo with Kicker sub and navigation...I have all of them!

In addition to the factory options I've added a few modifications for both cosmetic and performance purposes.  You will notice the car sits lower as I installed a complete Eibach Sportline suspension with BF Goodrich 275/40 performance tires ALL THE WAY AROUND (yes these fit perfectly...even with the lowered suspension) which provide a fantastic performance ride and look killer.  To make the car sound better I installed a Corsa performance cat-back stainless steel exhaust.  Do your research, these two mods are some of the best on the market for this car (not the cheapest). To help her breath better, I installed a Mopar cold air intake and to keep her cool, I installed a 180 degree thermostat.  I also installed the newer front chin spoiler from a 2011- present model as I thought it looked better.  To tie it all together, I have a DiabloSport tuner installed with the 93 octane tune.  She runs and drive beautifully!  She has never been to the track nor have I raced her. I have however tested her performance, stop light to stop light and all I can say is its awesome.  Based on the vehicle information system, my best 0 to 60 time is a 4.72 which I added a picture below.

As for the interior, I added a set of polished stainless pedals, SRT push button start, SRT steering wheel emblem, polished stainless steel sill plate, and a carbon fiber pistol grip shifter handle.

Other modification are a billet nose badge in satin black, 3M 1080 matte black wrap on the hood and custom "Challenger SRT" 1970 style T/A stripes, and a billet oil catch can.

I have every receipt and piece of paperwork I got with the car and have left the leather seat tag in place since new.

I have a collection of classic cars and my plan was to keep this gem of a retro-looking muscle car and pass it down to my children.  That was until the new 2015 Challenger with a Supercharged Hellcat Hemi making 707 hp was released recently and I found it is being offered in B5 blue.  I currently have a deposit on one of the first B5 Hellcats and well my wife says we don't need two B5 blue Challengers ( I kind of agree).  So here is your chance to own a very rare and cool muscle car at a fraction of the price...

I have well over $50k invested in this SRT and considering her excellent condition and warranty...its a STEAL!

Oh YES, this Challenger comes with an extended warranty up to 100,000 miles and ends 10/23/2016.  Since I an the original owner, I can transfer the warranty one time to the next owner.

Although I have pampered this SRT, applied so many coats of synthetic wax that water beads right off her, applied so many coats of "leather soft" that the seats look as close to new as you'll find, and cleaned underneath the car (yes I am a perfectionist and own a car lift) BUT she is still a 2009 with 45,000 miles so you can see minor wear (or I can see it, many people cannot).  Normal wear items like the arm rest and belly pan were replaced with OEM new parts when I moved her to my collection because I wanted her PERFECT.

I am in no rush to sell her as production of B5 Hellcats doesn't begin until early November 2014. She is an awesome example of a rare optioned car and priced fairly IMO.  If you don't think so, try to find another in this condition with the modifications.  If you don't like the modifications, I have all the original parts with the exception of the suspension and exhaust.

I offer no warranty other than transferring the policy I have with Mercury Insurance group to a private buyer (warranty can't be transferred to a dealer).  You need to have the cash to buy it, I do not finance nor am I going to wait for you to figure out if you can afford it or your wife approves.  I will provide you whatever information you need to make a smooth transaction and WELCOME an inspection by you or your mechanic!  I have nothing to hide and will be sad to see her go.

Also I do not offer shipping but will work with your shipper to get her loaded.  Full payment must have cleared my bank before I let her go...NO EXCEPTIONS!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call me:  Bob (727) 642-5811

NOTE:  A few of the pictures show the older style front chin spoiler as I only recently added the newer model style which can be seen below:

Fiat Chrysler wins top Total Quality Award for first time

Mon, Jul 20 2015

The Strategic Vision Total Quality Awards are 20 years old in 2015, and Chrysler has never topped the awards before. Until now, that is. Fiat Chrysler takes the overall award on the corporate level with six segment leaders from Fiat, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. The Fiat 500 won Small Multi-Function Car, the 500e won Small Alternative Powertrain, the Dodge Challenger tied at the top in the Specialty Coupe category alongside the very un-coupe Mini Cooper Countryman, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited took the Entry SUV category, the Dodge Durango won in Mid-Size SUV, and Ram took the overall in Best Non-Luxury Brand. The accolade means FCA has gone from one segment winner in 2010 to overall victory in five years. Cars have gotten so good, says Strategic Vision, that it is harder than ever to win. In fact, says the group, 18 years ago 85 percent of all vehicle brands had more than half a problem per vehicle. This year, no brand has more than half a problem per vehicle. The organization measures "over 155 specific aspects of the customer's experience," and scores are based on input from more than 46,000 customers. Other notables in and near the winner's circle include Volkswagen and General Motors, who tied for second place on the corporate scale, one point behind FCA. The Mini Cooper Roadster scored the highest of any model, the Corvette Stingray Convertible and Coupe scored the second- and third-highest. The Chevrolet Colorado is the first domestic Standard Pickup winner in more than ten years, and the Nissan Titan carried the Full-Size Pickup category. The press release below has all the details on how winners and losers are selected, and the full list of automakers and how they finished. "The Customer's 'Total' Experience Defines Quality, Fiat Chrysler Scores Highest in Total Quality," says Strategic Vision The 2015 Total Quality Awards® SAN DIEGO, Friday, July 17, 2015 — Unknown to many, when some consumer research firms rank a car company's quality performance they often do so by simply "counting problems." In the past, this may have been acceptable, but in today's modern and efficient manufacturing world the difference between the worst brand and best brand is LESS than half-a-problem per vehicle. Thus, any "quality ranking" based on this method is severely lacking in the complete picture of the "Total" Quality experience that customers actually use to judge their product ownership.

Hypermiling a Ram 1500 EcoDiesel to 38.1 mpg

Fri, May 9 2014

You never quite know what Wayne Gerdes has up his sleeve. The man who coined the term hypermiling is always looking for adventurous ways to prove that anyone – even you... yes, you – can eke out more miles per gallon just by changing the way you drive. Saying that is easy. Proving it by going on outlandish cross-country drives is hard. But for Gerdes and his team of fuel economy fiends over at CleanMPG, hard is half the fun. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. Which is why we always answer the phone when Gerdes calls. He likes to take journalists along on his drives, not only to try teach us how to hypermile but also to prove that we can be taught. The first time I 'helped' him and his team was when we got over 30 miles per gallon in a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT with the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V6. The EPA rated that truck with at just 16 mpg in the city and 22 on the highway. So, we'll count that trip as a success. Next up was a cross-country drive last fall in a trio of Audi TDI vehicles to prove that you don't need to drive extra slow to beat the EPA numbers. In fact, we made it from Los Angeles to New York City in just over 46 hours, cramped but not cranky. We had once again proven that how you drive is hugely important to your fuel usage. Our latest adventure appeared, at first glance, to be nearly impossible. The EPA says that the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel we would be driving gets just 22 combined mpg (19 city and 27 highway). Gerdes' idea was to drive it as far north from Houston, TX towards Detroit, MI as we could go on one tank. The day before we left, our itinerary got an extra stop. Instead of taking one of the official Shell Eco-marathon prototype vehicles to Detroit, it was decided to bring the winning diesel-powered prototype from the just-finished event to The Henry Ford Museum, where it had been arranged the car would be displayed. The winning car was built by a small team (just four students) from Sullivan High School in Sullivan, IN, who managed to beat a number of college teams with a score of 1,899.32 mpg. That target would be a bit out of reach for the Ram, but could we get 1,000 miles from the tank? Since the truck has a 26 gallon tank (officially, anyway), that would mean the EPA says we could only go 702 miles, assuming all highway driving. Could we make up 300 miles with careful driving? That spells both challenge and fun.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
