1974 Dodge Challenger (not 1970,1971,1972,1973) on 2040-cars

Up for sale is this awesome 1974
Plum Crazy Dodge Challenger. This car just went through a complete professional
restoration, and nearly every nut and bolt is new. All rotted metal was cut out
and replaced, no bondo was used on this ride. The car was just repainted, in awesome Plum Crazy metallic paint. New fiberglass hood, with hood scoop,
new fiberglass bumpers, new marker lights, new weatherstrips everywhere, and
new windshield.
Car was originally a 318, but was
replaced with a rebuilt 440, that has under 10,000 miles. Everything else is
new and has less than 200 miles, including: a rebuilt 727 transmission with a
shift kit and B&M Quicksilver shifter, a new custom made driveshaft, and a
rebuilt rear. New headers with a 3" Flowmaster exhaust. Rebuilt carb. New
Champion aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan. Chrome valve covers,
alternator and pullies. MSD Ignition and distributor. New gas tank, fuel lines,
brake lines, master cylinder. New front and rear sway bars. Also, both center
headlights were removed and replaced with a chromed out, cold ram air system
with dual air filters and you really feel it when you step on the gas.
The interior is also completely
redone. New carpet, seat covers front and rear, Grant steering wheel,
headliner, custom floor mats and a new dash pad. Blue LED lighting added under
seats and dash. And Blue LED streetglow around the underneath side of car, that
really lights up the road.
Now the negatives, which are basically insignificant when compared to all of the new items on this restored classic. The windshield wipers have
stopped working. I just found out that it is an electrical issue that may
possibly be corrected soon. Also, the fuel gauge does not work. The rods in the
doors are not connected to the key locks, so it can not be locked from the
outside- only from the inside. So there are a few little things
that need to be fixed, but for what this car will be used for, they do not need
to be fixed immediately to enjoy the car. A hose going to the steering box has
a very small leak- I am currently working on fixing this issue. All of the minor issues listed
above are accounted for in the reserve price.
-As you can see in these pictures,
there is a small chip in the paint on the molding that is attached to the
fender, not the fender. The chip is slightly touched up to the point that it is barely noticeable. All other paint is flawless and
just about show quality, no dents, no scratches. - Also, although the vinyl top is
new, it has a couple of small wrinkles near the back. You will have to
look very closely to even notice.
The reserve is set very reasonably.
I have done my very best to list even the smallest issues, so there will be
absolutely no surprises when you view the car. I purchased this vehicle mid-way
through the summer last year. Since that
time, my financial situation has changed. Over 40k has been spent to rebuild the
car. Getting divorced last year has really sent my finances for a loop! I need
to part with some things I really enjoy, but do not need to survive. My
loss is your gain. Good luck! |

Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango to lose color options temporarily
Wed, 19 Nov 2014In the market for a Jeep Grand Cherokee or Dodge Durango? Well, if you fancy a more expressive color for your new SUV, you'd better get your order in, or plan on waiting until well into 2015.
The SUVs will be limited to just four monochromatic shades - black, white, silver and gray - until at least February, thanks to an upgrade to the paint shop at the two vehicles' Jefferson North factory. For the Grand Cherokee, that means it's losing more than half its color palette while the Durango is dropping two-thirds of its color catalog.
The loss of colors is inconvenient, but the upgrade will have a slightly bigger effect on the overall supply of SUVs, as Chrysler will need to end its relentless build pace at the factory for a three-week shutdown starting on December 22. The good news for fans of the SUVs is that once the work is completed, we should see a gradual expansion of the color palettes for both the Durango and Grand Cherokee, beyond even what's offered now.
Marchionne may stay with FCA until 2020
Mon, Aug 31 2015We might get to see Sergio Marchionne and his vast array of sweaters in the auto industry for even longer than expected. The FCA CEO suggested last year that he would retire from the automaker when its current five-year plan was complete in 2018. Now, he has tentatively extended that point out to at least 2020. "I can do this for another five years if you push me, right? Beyond that, I ain't gonna do it, and I don't want to," he said to Automotive News. That would give Marchionne a 16-year career at the top from joining Fiat in 2004 to possibly leaving FCA in 2020. Although, take the CEO's statement with a grain of salt because he has made multiple statements about the timing for his retirement. In 2012, Marchionne said he would only remain in charge until 2015, which is, well, now. Those five years might also go quite quickly because Marchionne is a busy guy with the Ferrari IPO, the attempted merger with General Motors, implementing FCA's five-year plan, and many other projects. He's already considering the next CEO, though. "My purpose in life is to find the Kuniskises of the world, the Manleys, the Biglands, the Palmers," Marchionne said to Automotive News, referencing the heads at Dodge, Jeep, FCA North America, and the company's chief financial officer, respectively. "I told them, 'One of you is going to do what I do one day. I don't know who that is, but one of you is going to do it.'" 2020 Ford Explorer ST vs 2019 Dodge Durango SRT: How they compare on paper
Mon, Jan 14 2019For a few years now, the Dodge Durango SRT has been the sole three-row performance crossover from a non-luxury brand. That all changes now that the 2020 Ford Explorer ST is coming to market. Now we have two family crossovers with rear-drive-based platforms vying for buyers that demand practicality and power. As such, there's no better time to dig into their specs to see how they compare. We'll check out each crossover's horsepower, torque, space, capability and prices. The full specs are listed below, followed by some analysis afterward. We also compared the regular 2020 Explorer models to other crossovers in this segment, if if that's not enough, you can check out our car comparison tool. Performance The Explorer and Durango go about making power in very different ways. The Explorer goes the force-fed route with two turbos feeding a 3.0-liter V6, while the Durango's enormous 6.4-liter V8 produces power with air flow au natural. Of the two, the Durango has the greater output of 475 ponies and 470 pound-feet of torque, feeding the flames of everyone that lives by the phrase "There's no replacement for displacement." The Explorer is no slouch at 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque, though. Performance isn't purely based on power, though. Other factors play a role, such as weight, and in that regard, the Explorer is way ahead. At 4,701 pounds, it weighs a massive 809 pounds less than the portly Durango. This also means that both crossovers are very close in weight-to-power ratio, with the Explorer only slightly worse at 11.75 pounds per horsepower and the Durango at 11.6. Less weight will also play a roll in handling, and the Explorer is likely to feel sprightlier without so much mass to shift back and forth. Semi-related to handling are tire sizes. The Durango features 295-mm wide tires on 20-inch wheels. The Explorer has 255-mm wide tires on 20-inch wheels, but 21-inch wheels with 275-mm tires are available. So the Durango is working with more contact patch, but as we mentioned, it's carrying a lot more weight. 2020 Ford Explorer ST View 20 Photos Interior Space and Practicality Although the Durango SRT is the largest on the outside in every dimension, it loses out to Explorer repeatedly inside. The Ford has more headroom, leg room and shoulder room in nearly every row except the third-row where headroom comes up a bit short.
