1973 Dodge Challenger With 340 on 2040-cars
Kennewick, Washington, United States
We are selling a very clean 1973 Dodge Challenger. It has been fully mechanically updated with roller rockers, Edelbrock Perform RPM manifold and cam, Edelbrock carb, headers to a 2.5" exhaust and Davis Unified Igintion, 727 auto transmission with a slap stick shifter, new Mickey Thompson tires with Centerline wheels.
The paint is 2001 Ford Mustang yellow with clear. The strobe on sides is hand stenciled rather than a decal. The paint is amazing, flawless and done by a local shop renowned for their attention to detail and quality of work. Were this paint job to be reproduced today by a quality shop it would be in the $8,000 range. It runs and drives perfect and for all of you wondering, I would not hesitate to drive it long distance. All of the rubber and bushings in the suspension have been replaced along with the weatherstripping. The exhaust sounds great, the interior is great, the engine pulls hard...what's not to love? There aren't a lot of Challengers of this vintage out there, especially one that has been cared for and restored with this level of detail and workmanship. Please message me with any questions. This vehicle is for sale outside of eBay as well and the auction could be terminated without prior warning. The Buyer acknowledges that the Vehicle is being sold “as is,” without warranty, whether express or implied, about the condition of the Vehicle. 2013 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee
Tue, 12 Mar 2013I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this car. It was starting down a nearly straight entrance ramp at 15 miles per hour when I buried the throttle. In a moment, I was thrown back into my seat as the big SRT8's engine came to life with commensurate sound, fury and force, bringing me up to 75 mph in what felt like two blinks of an eye. This thing feels so much quicker than its 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque would lead you to believe. And mashing the right pedal never, ever gets old.
But beyond sheer speed, I found a whole lot to like about the Charger SRT8 during my week with the Pitch Black test car here in Detroit. And while the whole Super Bee kit isn't really my style, it's really easy to overlook those badges for a package that offers so much for so little.

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat gets brace of new videos
Wed, 21 May 2014Yesterday's big announcement focusing on the new Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat had plenty of stuff going for it - information, pictures and the rabid enthusiasm that always accompanies such an eagerly anticipated reveal. What it was lacking, though, was a proliferation of videos of the new model.
Sure, yesterday's news came with one clip, but today, Dodge has come through with five videos. We've arranged them in what we think will be the most entertaining order, covering the powertrain, before moving on to exterior and interior design, then on to a full CGI dissection of the SRT Hellcat before capping things off with a piece on the non-supercharged Challenger SRT392.
Take a look below for all five videos, then head into Comments and let us know what you think.
Dodge CEO and Gas Monkey Garage dissect the 10-second Challenger Hellcat
Fri, 11 Jul 2014So far, whenever we've seen the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT with its 707-horsepower, supercharged Hellcat V8, the muscle car has been smoking its tires. Dodge is finally proving that the SRT can do more than ruin perfectly good sets of rubber, though. In it's latest video, company CEO Tim Kuniskis hands the Hellcat off to the guys from Gas Monkey Garage to show how quickly the automaker's most powerful model can make it down the drag strip.
Of course, the only fitting contender to race against Dodge's latest top muscle car is its grandpa - a Hemi-powered 1971 Challenger, in this case. Before getting to the main event, the hosts also show off some of the SRT's unique features like the blanks in the grille that feed the intercoolers. We'll go ahead and spoil that the Hellcat makes its pass in the 10-second range, and the video admits the tires on the production version would take just a touch longer to cover the quarter-mile. However, you have to watch film to see just how quick it actually goes. Scroll down to see a classic example of American muscle drag racing against its modern legacy.
