I have for sale a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 4 barrel. I have owned the car for 25 years, I bought the car from a local person that owned it 4 years, it has been used as a cruiser or sunday car for 29 years. I think I am the third owner. The car was a plum crazy car, it was a blue when I got it, I stripped the car and had it painted the original blue for the car. This car is a head turner, it runs and drives great, starts good even after sitting for months. I put 14,000 miles on it in 25 years, less than 200 of them in past 2 years. This is an original 440 R/T , when you check the fender tag codes, it tells all. This car is factory equipped with, power steering, a AM/ 8 Track radio ( that needs a belt to work). The R/T is a great car to have, they have the hood scoops, Rallye dash ( factory tack), console and duel exhaust coming out the back with the chrome tips. The interior is good no cracks in the dash, no tears in the seats, head liner is good. The under side is good it was under coated before I owned it, floors and trunk is solid original. Factory owners manual, spare tire, bumper jack are included. The carb is a Carter thremoquad with a working choke and high cold idle. The car runs great but I am selling it as is due to its age. I do not use the car any more and need the storage for other things. I welcome you to come to look at it, but no joy rides or tire kickers, I will not sell early. SRT back to Dodge, Dart SRT, new Challenger, Charger and Caravan's death outlined in 5-yr plan

The onslaught of news from Fiat Chrysler's layout of five-year plans continued with Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis this morning, including the unexpected announcement that SRT was coming back into the fold.
After just a few years existing as an independent entity within the Fiat Chrysler universe, an unceremonious press release hit in conjunction with today's lineup of announcements, saying "the SRT family of vehicles will be consolidated under the Dodge brand." Group CEO Sergio Marchionne thanked SRT headman Ralph Gilles for his dedication to the high-performance wing, calling out is efforts in expanding the vehicle lineup and including more customized models. He did not reference disappointing SRT Viper sales today, but we sense there's a bit of subtext.
With the SRT reunion at Dodge, it's appropriate that some of the most exciting product announcements for the next five years have to do with upcoming performance products. First out of the gate will be a refresh for that flagging Viper in 2015, which comes as little surprise.

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T hits the Redline

Dodge has added a bit of spice to its Hemi-powered Challenger for 2013, offering up this new Redline package that makes its official debut at the Chicago Auto Show. The R/T Redline builds on the Rallye Redline kit that was created for the V6 Challenger, and we like how these subtle changes add to the muscle coupe's already classic styling.
In addition to the black chrome 20-inch wheels with red accents, the R/T Redline adds subtle graphics along the beltline. Inside, cars equipped with the six-speed manual transmission get a performance tuned exhaust that allows the engine to send a full 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels. (Redline Challengers with the five-speed automatic produce 372 hp and 400 lb-ft.)
The Redline package retails for $1,995 and can be had on both Challenger R/T and R/T Plus models. Scroll down for the full press blast.

2003-04 Dodge Viper recalled for sudden airbag deployment

As if driving the old Dodge Viper (not the fancy new SRT model) isn't intimidating enough, imagine trying to wrangle that V10 beast and then suddenly having the airbags deploy. Yikes. That's apparently what could happen to some 3,660 Viper models from the 2003 and 2004 model years, and as such, Chrysler has issued a recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the car's airbag control module may fail, causing the bags or seatbelt pre-tensioners to deploy without warning while the vehicle is in operation. That's a dangerous scenario in any car, let alone one offering insane horsepower a near-total paucity of safety nannies should things get squirrely.
Owners will be notified this month about the recall, though a remedy is not expected to be available until later this year. Scroll down for the full NHTSA statement.
