This is a real 1970 Dodge Challenger RT 440 v-code 6 pac car. It is NOT a shaker hood purple car. I added a photo
of what the car looked like in the 80's So you understand the history of the car. The owner at that time bought it
off of a board at the local car parts store at that time it had a 340 6 pac and retained its factory color of F3
light green metallic. Still had a 4spd and dana with 4;10 gears. After purchasing the car he had all the custom
work done and did not care it was a V-code car and does not know what happened to the fender tag and he does not
remember the guys name he bought it from. The car and history is well known in the St Louis mo mopar area. But that
is as far back as the history of the car is known. So what is known is it was F3 green 440 6 pac 4spd dana super
trac pac car.
In the late 80's the car had a electrical fire and burnt the interior up and the insurance company totaled the
car out. He bought it back and striped the car and it went to the junk yard and sat there for a few years until
somebody peeled back the white fur on the dash and saw the vin number and saved it from the junk yard and it was
passed around to 4 or 5 owners until I got it and restored it to the condition it is now.
I decided to restore it how I would of ordered it new. I got it as a shell and it came out of body shop that did
not finish it they replaced a frame rail due to setting on the ground and the roof skin was warped from the fire.
They also had partial quarters on it when I got it. I cut them off and put Good Mark full quarters on and finished
all the body work and did full rotisserie restoration and painted it with the help from the owner of Claydoe Custom
paint. That was 9 years ago. The interior is Legendary. The gauges are original with the clock and tac rebuilt and
work perfect. The motor is bored 30 over with sealed power forged pistons 6 pac rods and balancer and the hemi oil
pan with high volume pump oil psi is between 60 and 80 psi. The heads have stainless steel valves and hardened
seats and are set up to run super unleaded pump gas. The intake is the cast iron one with original Holley carbs
rebuilt by Pro-Max out of Indy. Motor runs great I have it set up with a Chrysler 4spd overdrive transmission with
the 4;10 gears it turns 2600 rpms at 70 So the car is very driveable I have been on 3 power tours with the car with
no problems would not be afraid to take it again tomorrow. It is a fun car to drive and take to shows and cruises.
The car is not a 100 point show car the paint has a few blemishes and nics and scratches and there is a small
bubble on the bottom of the driver door. As you can tell by the pictures it is beautiful car and shows very well
you can take it to any local show and take home a trophy. The under carrage is still shinny and looks great Last
year on the Hot Rod Power tour coming out of Madison. Wi.

Junkyard Gem: 2001 Dodge Stratus R/T Coupe

Fri, Jan 19 2018

The Chrysler "Cloud Cars" of the 1990s were the Chrysler Cirrus, Plymouth Breeze, and Dodge Stratus; by the turn of our current century, only the Stratus name remained standing. For 2001, the Stratus sedan remained on a Chrysler platform, while the unrelated-other-than-name Stratus coupe became a sibling to the Mitsubishi Eclipse. The Stratus R/T was the hot-rod version; here's a 2001 Stratus R/T coupe languishing in a California self-service wrecking yard. This car has the 5-speed manual transmission, which was becoming a rarity even for performance-minded American car shoppers by the early 21st century. The engine is a DOHC version of the Mitsubishi 6G72, a V6 engine that went into dozens of different vehicles from the mid-1980s through just a few years ago. The Mitsubishi Debonair AMG ran the 6G72, as did the early Hyundai Sonata as well as the Proton Perdana. This one was rated at 200 horsepower, which was enough to be real fun with a manual transmission. This car endured some exciting driving from its last owner, looks like. The Stratus Coupe was built through the 2005 model year, after which its Dodge Avenger successor continued in sedan-only form. This content is hosted by a third party. Here's the last Dodge Viper

Thu, Aug 17 2017

The last Dodge Viper has rolled off the line. Ralph Gilles, FCA's Head of Design since April 2015, posted a photo gallery on Instagram with the caption "So long... #Viper." The gallery includes multiple photos of the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, where the Dodge Viper has been built since 1995. In the gallery, we see a yellow unit with black stripes coming down the line, and Gilles is posing in front of it with Dodge/SRT Head of Design Mark Trostle. The yellow Viper is followed by a red car, with nothing else behind it on the line. That red Viper is "the ultimate last one," according to Gilles, adding that the automaker will be holding onto that unit for the company's heritage collection. You can click through the gallery here: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. When asked in the comments if the Viper was discontinued because of low sales, Gilles replied, "Not really as it sold well over the last couple of years at a great mix of mostly ACRs in the last 15 months. It has more to do with a new ejection mitigation regulation airbag that simply won't fit in our package." Despite the solemnity of the post, Gilles is upbeat about the Viper in general, saying "The Gen5 had a great 5 model year run and the Viper platform which has not changed that much over the years had a great 25 year run!" He says he has great memories with the car, and that "they are relatively robust so they will be around making memories for generations to come!" Still, we hope to see something that lives up to the Viper's wild, raw spirit come from FCA in the near future. Killing the Dart and 200 might lower FCA's fuel economy burden

Tue, Feb 9 2016

Killing the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 could allow FCA US to take advantage of an intriguing quirk in the next decade's fuel economy regulations. By increasing its ratio of trucks versus cars, the automaker might not need to worry so much about hitting the more stringent efficiency rules. At first thought, it might seem harder for an automaker with a ton of trucks to meet the government's mandated 54.5 mile per gallon corporate average fuel economy for 2025. However, every company doesn't need to hit that lofty figure, according to The Detroit Free Press. The exact target varies by the product mix between trucks and cars. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target," Brandon Schoettle, Project Manager Sustainable Worldwide Transportation at the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute, told Autoblog. "While passenger car and light truck categories have separate CAFE targets, it's still true that more trucks versus cars in a company lineup means a lower combined CAFE target." FCA US' current product blend has 80 percent pickups and CUVs, which means the company stands to benefit from a lower fuel economy target. It might not seem entirely fair environmentally, but this is a great move from a business perspective. The new CAFE rules aren't set in stone, according to The Detroit Free Press, but potentially taking advantage of the regulation is just one more reason to cut the Dart and 200. Modern crossovers also aren't gas guzzlers like older SUVs, which could make it easier to hit the fuel economy target. "Utilities offer practicality and versatility that cars do not, and now, built on car architectures, they do not penalize consumers on fuel economy as they once did," AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs told Autoblog. Schoettle warns that FCA is still making a gamble by killing the small sedans. "Depending on the previous sales volumes and how much these vehicles might have exceeded their specific CAFE targets, it's possible that these cars helped earn CAFE credits for FCA that they could bank for future use," he said. "Future sales breakdowns [car vs.
