2021 Dodge Charger Hellcat Redeye starts at $80,000

This year the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye becomes the most powerful factory Charger ever. And, big surprise, it's the most expensive Charger in the lineup, with a base price of $80,090 including the $1,495 destination charge. That's also a $2,000 premium over a Challenger Hellcat Redeye, so you're arguably paying $1,000 per extra door. But can you put a price on the satisfaction of sharing 797 horsepower with your friends? Pricing for the rest of the 2021 Charger lineup is out, too. Only three models see price increases: R/T, Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody. The R/T is up by $500, the Scat Pack by $600 and the Scat Pack Widebody by $100. These relatively unchanged prices reflect a lack of changes to Chargers. Besides the aforementioned new Hellcat Redeye, there are new 20-inch wheels available for all-wheel-drive Charger GT and SXT, and the regular Charger Hellcat gets 10 more ponies for 717 total. Otherwise the lineup carries over unchanged for the new model year. Dealers can start putting in orders for cars in September, and the first 2021 models should start arriving early next year. Last call for Chrysler 300C, Dodge Charger, Challenger: Get your orders in by July 31

We’ve known for a while that the Dodge Challenger and Charger, along with the Chrysler 300C, were going away, and we now have a production end date for the long-running trio of big cars. Earlier this week, we learned that the order books for all three will close at the end of July, ahead of closing production at the end of the year. The 300C has been around since the 2005 model year and has been on sale relatively unchanged since 2011. Chrysler has updated the powertrain choices and technology over the years, but the car we see on sale today is nearly identical to the car we first saw when President George W. Bush was in office. Though it shares a platform and some underlying engineering with the Dodge Charger and Challenger, Chrysler hasnÂ’t gone to the lengths that Dodge did to give the 300C a proper sendoff. Dodge pulled out all the stops with its large cars, offering a series of “Last Call” models highlighting the carsÂ’ power and history. That said, Chrysler did release a limited-production 300C for 2023 that offers a 6.4-liter Hemi V8. ItÂ’s held to 2,000 units and doesnÂ’t have the swagger that DodgeÂ’s cars bring, but there are a few reasons to be excited about the final 300C. With 485 horsepower and 475 pounds of torque on tap, the car can reach 60 from a standstill in 4.3 seconds and run the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds. Those are serious numbers for any car, let alone one that feels like a Barcalounger on wheels. Other upgrades for the final 300C include a 3.09 limited-slip differential, an active exhaust system, and active suspension. If the 300C speaks to you in a way that other rolling sofas donÂ’t, itÂ’s likely too late to grab a limited-production car, but Chrysler is offering the standard 300 — for now.

2021 Dodge Durango lineup gets price increases

The 2021 Dodge Durango is another example of Dodge's profitable specialty — minor exterior visual changes that bring outsized improvements, easily identifiable interior updates that elevate the cabin experience, and a whopping chungus engine at the top of the lineup. For 2021, the Durango wears Charger Widebody cues outside plus a new rear hatch spoiler, a new Tow N Go package for the Durango R/T, and a redesigned, driver-focused interior with an 8.4-inch or 10.1-inch touchscreen. Prices go up across the lineup. Next year's Durango SXT RWD starts at $33,260, after the $1,495 destination charge, which is $970 more than in 2020. At the top end, the limited-run Durango SRT Hellcat starts at $80,995, an $18,000 jump over the current top of the line, the Hellcat-less SRT that picks up a "392" badge to signify its new position. Below those two are nine more models in rear- and all-wheel drive. It appears Dodge eliminated the Citadel trim currently priced below the R/T, which is $4,810 less than the 2021 Durango Citadel. The carmaker rebranded this year's Citadel Anodized Platinum, priced above the R/T, as the Citadel. The higher price pays for driver and front passenger seats that add leather and standard ventilation to the heating function, a suede headliner, the 10.1-inch touchscreen with Uconnect 5 as standard with TomTom navigation, and driver assistance and safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning with active braking, and lane departure warning as standard. Those latter two features and some others can't be had on this year's model. Dodge has also thrown in the Trailer-Tow Group IV, a $1,195 option presently. The group installs an integrated trailer brake switch, heavy-duty engine oil cooler, Class IV hitch receiver, rear load-leveling shocks, full-size spare tire with the Class IV trailer receiver, and integrated brake controller.
