This Beautiful 1974 260Z has just under went a complete restore top to bottom . I took it down to a bare body shell and brought it back up to better then new condition .
As stated above this is a Mild Custom bodied Z , modification include . Filled rear bumper . Filled side marker lights . Filler quarter vents . Shaved drip rails on roof . Welded and filled front head light extensions . All this to enhance a smooth aero dynamic look . Suspension has all been rebuilt with new struts front and rear ,one full spring coil cut to lower stance 2 inches . Everything taken apart and cleaned painted and lubed . New brake and clutch hydraulics , new rear shoes . Front brakes were in great condition so just cleaned and painted . Engine 280 4 speed trans and R200 3.36-1 rear end are as I bought the car , everything cleaned and repainted - detailed ETC. I have no history on engine other then I found tags from a rebuilder on engine , block code is F54 , N42 head code , research tells me this is a good combination . I'm running duel Weber Carbs with K@N filters and a ceramic coated header from Motor Sports and new mufflers also a Polished Valve cover . The radiator is new Aluminum . These Z's can be a wiring night mare so I've rewired the car starting with a 20 fuse block from NAPA and working out from there . Very simplified and easy to maintain . Also new NAPA battery . The interior is new and also Mild Custom with new suede look micro fiber bolstered seats , black with red stitching . The carpet kit is new and special ordered so I could not retain original council which is still available with car . The door panels and headliner are also suede to match the seats . All new rubber seals through out New windshield also . The dash has a cover that fits perfectly . There are original gauges . There is No Heater as I had planed on replacing the original with after market Heat - AC from Southern Rods [ kit $650 plus installation ] , the original heating system was trash and all the factory AC was missing . I do have a small after market heater that would work if you don't want AC . The wheels are 14" Konig's with new Michelin tires . I've tried to describe this fun car as best I can , For more build pic's or information call Larry at 7one9 4two3 09one5 DO NOT TEXT I WILL NOT RESPOND !!!!!!! I will not reveal the reserve but it is set very reasonable for the quality of this build , Happy bidding and good luck . This car is offered locally so I reserve the right to cancel auction if Sold . |

Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]
Fri, 29 Aug 2014Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.
This father and son duo terrorize the UK countryside in Datsun 240Z pair
Wed, 12 Nov 2014The Datsun 240Z got a lot of things right when it was introduced, with handsome styling, strong performance and a reasonably affordable price. And while the coupes grew a strong fan base in the US, they remained quite a rarity in the UK. Decades later, a father and son in England have latched onto the car and bonded over their shared love for two completely opposite takes on this Japanese GT
There's already quite a collection of exotics in Mel Streek's garage, and his rat rod 240Z, which he calls the Ratsun, definitely doesn't fit with the rest. On the outside, the Datsun looks ready to fall apart, but it's mechanically perfect underneath. Alternatively, Mel's son, Ollie, has a completely different take for his Z with its perfect, shining paint.
Both Zs sound amazing, though. They have a mechanical, somewhat course exhaust note that's intoxicating to hear. You can definitely tell there's some work going on under the hood. Check out this video from Petrolicious for a father and son who both find something to love in these classic Japanese coupes.
