Up for sale is a very nice 1973 Datsun 240Z. It has a March 1973 build date, which is when Datsun set about making some improvements to the electronics, wiring, and chassis. The car only has 26,500 miles! I also have two spares which I can sell with the car.) Flaws: - Very small amount of surface rust on front left fender. Needs to be sanded down and repainted. -Carb needs a better tune. I can sell you the vacuum gauge to tune the idle mixture for a low price. -Dash is cracked as it always is on these cars, but it comes with a very nice molded cover and looks factory. -Speedometer reads the wrong speed. -Tachometer doesn't work. It needs to be converted to the later 280Z speedometer to work with the electronic ignition. I have the tachometer and will include it with the car. Overall, it's a great car. It does have some flaws which are listed, but they are all minor and don't impede the driving experience or cause too much of a problem. I've been driving it as is and have had no issues. The title on this vehicle is rebuilt. I got the car with a salvage title and turned it into a rebuilt after going through a tedious inspection in Florida. The body is straight, the car tracks true, and it has never been in an accident. The reason for the rebuilt title is because the car has been purchased from a junkyard in 1992 and was saved from getting destroyed. I will be including all the documentation I have for the vehicle. Datsun previews new budget sedan for Russia [w/video]
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Nobody does cars on the cheap quite like the Renault-Nissan Alliance. The former part of the equation already has its Dacia brand of cost-effective, no-frills vehicles that have become a favorite of Top Gear co-host James May, and last summer, the latter revived its Datsun nameplate for a budget brand of its own.
The reborn Datsun launched in India this past July with its Go hatchback, returned in September with the Go+ minivan and revealed the Redi-Go concept just last month. And now it's given us our first look at an upcoming budget sedan developed specifically for the Russian market.
The as-yet unnamed vehicle (which we'll bet will incorporate the word "go" into its nameplate somehow) is set to debut on April 4, where it will launch the Datsun brand in Russia. Few details are available at this point, but the low-cost sedan was designed in Japan to offer Russian drivers "an engaging driving experience, peace of mind ownership and accessibility at the right and transparent price, with a competitive Total Cost of Ownership."
Datsun to unveil second model later this month
Sun, 08 Sep 2013Datsun, Nissan's new sub-brand for emerging markets, has announced plans to unveil its second model. Its first, the Go, was unveiled almost two months ago, and promised affordable, connected motoring for five in a handsome hatchback body. Datsun is following that up with a pair of new models for Indonesia.
The first of these two new vehicles will be shown on September 17 in Jakarta, eschewing the typical auto show debut. It's targeted at so-called "risers," the nickname for a group of highly aspirational customers in the Indonesian market. Datsun developed it locally with help from Nissan, and it'll cost under 100 million Indonesian rupiah (about $8,900 at today's rates).

Datsun debuts new seven-seat Go+ in Indonesia [w/video]
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The Datsun name may have long since been replaced by Nissan, but the old brand is making a comeback - in certain markets, at least. Nissan relaunched the Datsun brand in July as its new budget brand for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback, and has now followed up with the addition of the larger Go+.
Set to be built in Indonesia at Nissan's plant in Purwakarta, the Go+ debuts today in the capital of Jakarta as the second model in the new Datsun lineup. The seven-passenger minivan features flexible seating in a compact form 13 feet long, powered by an unspecified 1.2-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
Nissan isn't saying much else about the model, but hopes the new Datsun twins will account for half of its sales in Indonesia within three years. The low price target for both models - set to come in at less than 100 million rupiah ($8,700) - ought to help it get there. The lineup is then scheduled to reach other markets, starting with India, Russia and South Africa next year.
