1971 240z series 1. Production date 11/70. All original except was painted a while ago, back to the original factory color and the rims and tires were upgraded. The car runs fantastic, has a 4 speed transmission that shifts flawlessly. This is a very clean, all numbers matching (Series one) rust free car that needs a good home with a garage to keep her looking fresh and clean. Runs fantastic, handles great, stops on a dime, all new brakes (rear drums, new master cylinder, new emergency brake cables) new clutch and slave cylinder, new battery/ completely gone over with a fresh tune up, new plugs/wires/points/condensor/ cap and rotor /oil and filter change all new gas lines and gas filters ect. Can be driven anywhere and is very dependable. I drive it on nice weekends with no issues.

The interior is very clean with just a couple of cracks on the dashboard. The seats are in perfect condition. The hood/ trunk/ doors close and fit perfect. There was a chip in the front windshield so i had safelite install a brand new one with a brand new rubber seal looks great.

Before the car was painted there were just a couple areas on the car which needed some repair, a little around the rear wheel lips and the driver and passenger side floors both needed a small repair. Other than those repairs, the car is very solid with No Rust. All the spots these cars had rust problems with are in perfect condition. The windows are all in very nice condition and work as they should and all the weather stripping is nice as well.

This car still needs a few things to be perfect. I have spent alot time and money on this car and just have too many things on my plate right now and too many other cars to worry about. I dont have a garage for the car and it's so deserving of one. I can't stand to see it outside so it must go. I was going to try to hold onto this car as a investment because they're supposed to double in value in the next 5 years which would be close to 32k.

It is not perfect but its also not that far away either. With a little more love she will be. The car also has Pennsylvania classic tags on it that are transferable to the next lucky in-state owner.

Sony Stereo with working power antenna/ also has the the two original Hitachi carbs that have been tuned to perfection The engine is all original and has not been altered in any way its just the way it left the factory in 1970. Pictures do not show the front bumper, but there is a bumper included. It's just not installed i thought it looks nicer with out it on..also more pictures will come tommrow it got dark berfore i could get more shots of it.PS The underneath of this car is spotless and is as clean as the top of the car it is suggested you come see how truley clean and rust free this( series 1) really is before bidding. This series 1 was only made for a year and and a half 1970 to1971 1/2. This is a turn key and enjoy car ( fly in drive home).

Thanks and happy bidding.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.

Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.

37K miles in a 1967 Datsun Roadster

Tue, 11 Mar 2014

When we think of comfy, long-distance road cars, there are a few obvious choices. A Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Bentley Continental GT or, assuming fuel efficiency isn't paramount, a Range Rover are all good options for a road trip. But what if that road trip was 37,000 miles? Maybe something more reliable but still comfortable, then, like a Honda Accord. What about a 1967 Datsun Roadster?
As insane as it sounds, Scott Fisher is doing just that, running a Datsun 1600 Roadster across North America and racking up 13,500 miles in his first three months on the road. His total journey will see him pile over 37,000 miles on his red convertible. The car is lightly modified, but most of the work is for the sake of reliability and comfort, with a five-speed manual 'box, an upgraded radiator and electronic ignition.
Fisher's trip hasn't been all smooth, with a few typical bits of trouble. He also ran into some deer in Utah, quite literally, clipping one of the animals, which delivered quite a bit of damage to the passenger's front fender (hence the rear three-quarter view in our lead shot). Still, the car seems to be holding up well, as shown in this latest video from Petrolicious.
