The Wade Williams Collection
This vehicle is from the famed Wade Williams Chrysler Woodie collection
which has been selling world-wide on Ebay since the summer of 2012.
All of the 1983 woodies have found new homes. The one being offered
is an immaculate,  always garaged,  white beauty with all the bells and whistles.
I purchased this rust free convertible on May 27th, 2005 and drove it
from Omaha, Nebraska to join the rest of the collection here in Kansas
City . It performed flawlessly.
The top was replaced a few years before my purchase and a new head
gasket, timing chain, wiring, plugs and pickup coil. (This is common with
this engine at about 70/80K. Basicallyafresh tune up. The Michelin tires
have 75% of their tread.
This car has NO rust anywhere and has been garaged since new as the
pictures show  . It  drives beautifully and only needs a new home with
someone that enjoys the nostalgic  woodies and wants a  unique car that
will stop traffic !  Chances are you won't see one of these nifty cars
around  unless you live next door to me.Only 505 were madei in 1985.
In the three years Chrysler made about three thousand of  these
wonderful  cars .Few remain today.
The reserve is low,  as is the BUY  IT  NOW PRICE !  These cars are RARE
and collectors are buying and keeping them. There will never be a better
time to buy one, or a better deal. If you want one, buy it now. Prices
will go up in the spring. This is one to consider !
No warranty or guarantee is given or implied and the sale is final. The
car is available for inspection at 13001 Wornall Rd, Kansas City, Mo
64145 , by appointment only. Questions- Wade Williams 816-943-0855.

Chrysler honors Arsenal of Democracy's 75th anniversary

Tue, Dec 29 2015

The Allied victory in World War II wouldn't have been possible without the Arsenal of Democracy. This phrase, originally coined by President Franklin D. Roosevelt 75 years ago today, described the war-time transformation of US manufacturing, especially the auto industry, to produce tanks and planes instead of cars and trucks. One of the earliest purpose-built facilities was the Albert Kahn-designed Detroit Arsenal, located in suburban Warren, MI, literally across the street from the future site of the General Motors Technical Center. Built by Uncle Sam, the plant churned out M3 Grant and M4 Sherman tanks with frightening speed, but it wouldn't have been possible without Chrysler. The company (which is ironically now allied to a former supplier of Nazi Germany and fascist Italy) operated the plant and applied automotive mass-production techniques to producing the government-designed tanks. The plant was so successful, according to Fiat Chrysler historian Brandt Rosenbusch, that it singlehandedly outpaced the entire Third Reich's tank production by 5,000 units over the course of the war. The Detroit Arsenal was also responsible for a quarter of all American tank production during the war. And like so many wartime factories, women formed a large percentage of the workforce, as men were drafted out of assembly work and into the armed forces. Chrysler has commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Arsenal of Democracy speech with a video on the Detroit Arsenal and its role there. And as for the site today? It built tanks up until 1997, and still serves as the home of the US Army's TACOM (Tank-automotive and Armaments Command) Life Cycle Management Command, a major site for tank research and development. Chrysler 300 SRT dead in US, updated elsewhere

Sat, Aug 29 2015

The Chrysler 300 SRT is officially dead here in the US, but the sedan's big V8 continues to rumble in a handful of other markets around the world. In fact, the model just received a refresh abroad to fit the standard version's recently updated styling. According to Car and Driver, customers in countries like Australia, Japan, South Africa, South Korea, and a few other places can stop by their local Chrysler dealer soon to pick up some of this imported muscle. For the refresh, the 300 SRT's 6.4-liter V8 remains under the hood producing 470 horsepower, and it's now hooked up to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The styling also gets some updates like LED lights in the lower air dam, a reshaped mesh grille with the SRT logo, and a simplified design for the taillights. If it seems odd to go to the work of updating the 300 SRT's styling, while killing off the model in the US, the reason has to do with FCA's brand strategy here. Dodge is supposed to be the automaker's performance marque in America, and according to Car and Driver, Jeep gets to keep SRT branding on the Grand Cherokee because of the brawny SUV's popularity. That might not last much longer, because reports suggest a Hellcat-powered Trackhawk is on the way. Related Video:

Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. Scroll down for the Chrysler press release as well as a video showing some of the speeches from the celebration.
