Purchased this vehicle from the original owner with the intention of helping a stepdaughter get a vehicle. She apparently didnt want it if she had to put any money into it so its now for sale.

2001 PT Cruiser, engine and transaxle have been replaced with 2007 that had a rear end collision. All Fluids have been flushed and refilled, Trans filter was replaced at this time and there is another trans filter to go with it. I like to flush, refill, drive for about 1000 miles then change the filter again and refill. Oil and filter are fresh, cooling system has been completely flushed and refilled. New brakes all the way around, new front rotors, new wheel bearings, new front calipers. Entire electrical system has been checked and there are no fault codes. The chassis has 250+k miles on it,engine has 70 something thousand, i cant remember the exact mileage that was on it and the donor vehicle has been scrapped. Transaxle has roughly 20 miles on it since rebuild, just enough to check that it was all functioning properly.Suspension was all checked and is in great condition with all bearings and seals replaced.
It is the Touring package with am/fm/cassette/cd stereo upgrade, chrome rally wheel upgrade (16 inch)and overdrive auto trans. cloth interior in great shape, no holes or tears anywhere that i have seen. All power windows,etc..
Tires are 55 series, fronts have probably 40% wear left and rears have probably 60% left, with front to rear rotation, i would guess probably 40,000 miles or so left in them.

Things that i know of that are wrong with it:
Missing one of the hubcaps as seen in the picture,, i lost it in the shop somewhere and cant find it anywhere
every once in a while the lights that show what radio station is tuned in dont come on, radio still works fine it just doesnt show the channel
drivers side floor mat is almost worn through where your heel rests, carpet has no damage
There are parking lot dings, gravel/road dings and a little sun fading in a few places
Deer ran into the passengers side as shown in the pictures, i think the interior panels could come off and these could be popped back out with little problem but im not sure
Front dash has some weather cracks on the flat surface of it.

Mechanically, the vehicle is about as perfect as you can get, wouldnt hesitate to jump in it and go coast to coast. If distance is a factor, we could arrange to pick someone up at either the Greyhound station or airport in Harrison Ar. if someone wants to ride in and then drive back out.

Might be interested in trading for an 80's model (evolution) Harley touring bike, the right shovelhead touring bike or a 90's model Goldwing.. not interested in any twinkies. If distance/ delivery is a factor, we could pick someone up at either the bus depot in Harrison Ar or at the airport if they wanted to bus/fly in and drive it home.

Vehicle is also for sale locally with 3 people trying to come up with cash so the listing will be ended if they do and an acceptable offer hasnt been made.

First come first served.

Google-Chrysler autonomous project will include ride-sharing

Fri, Dec 16 2016

Google's new Waymo automobile-technology division might have just gotten "way mo" interesting, if you'll excuse the pun. Google, which this spring said it would work with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles on the development of a self-driving Chrysler minivan prototype, is adding a ride-sharing component to the project, Bloomberg News says, citing people familiar with the process. Representatives with both Fiat Chrysler and Google parent Alphabet Inc. declined to comment to Bloomberg. The ride-sharing service, which would compete with fellow San Francisco Bay Area-based companies such as Uber and Lyft, may debut as soon as the end of next year. Uber continues to move forward with its own self-driving efforts, launching self-driving tests (with engineers behind the wheel) in Pittsburgh in September and announcing this week that it would start tests in San Francisco. Those efforts may be delayed, however, as the state of California requires special permitting for testing out self-driving technology, and while the state has granted those permits to automakers such as General Motors, Tesla and Ford, it hasn't for Uber. Google and Chrysler said earlier this year that it would develop about 100 autonomous-driving Pacifica prototypes, but the ride-sharing service would require more of those vehicles to be built. Google's auto-technology operations, now called Waymo, have been headed by former Hyundai executive John Krafcik since September 2015. The division has reportedly brought in more executive-level personnel to speed things along. Meanwhile, Chrysler is slated to unveil an all-electric prototype version of the Pacifica at Las Vegas's annual CES show next month. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. Is your new-car warranty good at the race track?

Mon, Feb 27 2017

We've all heard the horror stories. Your buddy knows a girl that was dating a guy whose best friend's brother once broke his brand-new, recently purchased performance car while making runs at a drag strip or laps at a track day, and the manufacturer wouldn't cover the repair under warranty. True story? Urban legend? Complete crap? Yes, no, maybe. One thing's for sure: Automotive warranties have always come with caveats. In 1908, an ad in the Trenton Evening Times clearly stated: "All Ford Cars Guaranteed for One Year." Although it changed over time, by 1925 the Ford New Car Guarantee only covered 90 days on material and 30 days on labor, and it clearly stated that that there was "No guarantee whatever on Fan Belts, Glass, Bulbs, Wiring, Transmission, Bands, Hose Connections, Commutator Shells, Rollers, Spark Plugs or Gaskets." Whether or not Ol' Henry would pay to fix your Model T if you broke it shaving a tenth off your lap time at the local board track seems to be lost to history. We're guessing no. But what about today? Do new-car warranties in 2017 cover cars when they are driven on race tracks? We researched the warranties of 14 auto brands to find out, and the answer is yes, no, maybe, depending on the brand, in some cases the model, and whether or not your car is modified from stock. Acura has been out of the high-performance car game for a number of years, but jumps back into the party in 2017 with its hybrid-powered $173,000 NSX supercar. And Acura's warranty, as well as Honda's, clearly states that it does not cover "the use of the vehicle in competition or racing events." View 33 Photos So we asked Sage Marie, Senior Manager of Public Relations for Honda and Acura. "If the car is stock, the warranty covers it on a track just as it does on the street. No question," he told us. "However, if the car is modified, say with slick tires or other components that would put higher stresses on the vehicle's parts and systems, then we would have to investigate the circumstances further." Marie went on to say the same would be true for any Acura model or Honda vehicle, including the new 2017 Honda Civic Si. This became a common theme. Chevrolet actually started this practice with the fifth-generation Camaro on the high-performance ZL1 and Z/28 models.

Marchionne hopes Apple will partner with Fiat

Wed, Mar 2 2016

Apple wants to make a car. Fiat already makes cars. Therefore, Apple and Fiat should partner to make an Apple Car. Makes sense, right? Clearly, it's not quite that easy, but FCA chief Sergio Marchionne hopes that Cupertino will consider Fiat a worthy candidate for partnership, assuming, of course, that Apple follows through with its overtures into the automobile industry. Marchionne is, according to Bloomberg, a self-proclaimed "Apple freak" who owns every kind of product Apple makes. He suggests that he understands the tech company's needs and wants. "Apple has a language, and you have to be able to speak that language," said Marchionne. "Usually the industry comes into that dialogue with a high degree of arrogance as we know how to make cars. That's not very helpful as their syntax is worth more than our ability to build cars." By "syntax," we assume Marchionne means Apple's sleek and modern design language more than the code behind its software. It's interesting to note that the FCA CEO seems to indicate that Apple would bring more to any partnership than the automaker would. Fair or not, we'd wager that more buyers would care about a potential Apple Car's design and branding than would be concerned with which automaker helped assembled it. A partnership with Apple may be exactly the kind of cure that the FCA CEO believes ails the auto industry. After finding it impossible to further pursue industry consolidation, a tie-up with the massive tech industry, particularly Apple, could generate some much-needed positive cash flow. At present, though, it's all just conjecture – Apple hasn't offered any hints as to the true nature of its so-called Project Titan automotive project, and doesn't seem likely to anytime soon.
