A great work truck ready to work today. I have owned this for 7 years now and it has never let me down. I just don't use it enough anymore and don't want it taking up space. 1982 Chevy c20 mason dump with clear title. Nj inspection expired in January although it passed last January with flying colors. NOTHING I mean NOTHING in the dash works. Registration is up to date.

Here's the good and the bad

The good; starts right up, newer front brakes, 1 ton hydraulic dump with pto control in cab, looks great on the outside for its age, no visible rust on the cab body, will save you a ton in rentals and delivery fees, newer spare tire on rim, exterior lights work, wipers work although it could use new blades, pintle hook (never personally towed with it and can't verify if all wires are there and intact)

The bad; nothing in the dash works ( I would fill up the tank every time it take it out and pretty much drove it locally to scrap yard, jobs, get firewood, etc.) a few small holes in the bulkhead of the dump body (floor is solid), could use a few new tires although I've been saying that for years (they hold air fine even with a full load), the doors need to be slammed to close, the windows require 2 hands and sometimes having the door open to operate, unsure of actual mileage since nothing in the dash has worked since before I bought it, because it is a 3 speed manual with the granny gear it honestly doesn't go over about 50mph. There was remnants of mice living in it when I bought it (bought it from a farm) and there still is although I have never seen any mice.

So this thing is a true work horse with plenty of life left in it and it looks 10 times better than most operational dump trucks in the same price range. I am looking to clear some space but will not give it away as it will still make me money. FCA and ZF issue recall on nine-speed automatic transmission

After years of complaints, German transmission manufacturer ZF is finally issuing a recall of its much maligned 9HP nine-speed automatic transmission. Although it has been criticized for a number of issues, ZF is issuing the recall to address the possibility of the transmission unexpectedly shifting into neutral. The issue covers 505,000 vehicles in the United States alone. This issue is related to an improper crimp on the transmission wiring harness. Rather than a physical fix, ZF is issuing a software update to remedy the problem. The company doesn't recommend dealers attempt to fix the crimp. Although the transmission can be found in a number of models by various manufacturers, currently only those from FCA are being recalled. This is the second recall in less than a year related to a ZF transmission shifting into neutral. FCA recently recalled more than a million vehicles worldwide because of a poorly designed shifter for ZF's 8HP eight-speed automatic. That issue may have resulted in the death of actor Anton Yelchin in June. Although there are no deaths related to this new recall, NHTSA reports that the issue has resulted in at least 10 injuries. Issues with the transmission have been known for years. A number of software updates have attempted to address various problems, making us wonder if there could be a fundamental hardware issue as the complaints span across a number of automakers. Vehicles equipped with the 9HP include 2014 and newer versions of the V6 Acura TLX, Chrysler 200, Fiat 500X, upper-level Honda Pilots, Jeep Cherokee and Renegade, Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque, and Ram ProMaster City. Chrysler's 300 sedan has never been a shrinking violet, but it arguably lost a bit of swagger when its second-generation model bowed. There was no way that an evolutionary design could ever upend the automotive establishment the way the original 2005 model did, but even so, something was clearly left on the table when the 2011 model bowed.
You don't have take our word for it - Chrysler knows it, too. Reflecting back upon the second-generation model's styling today, Ralph Gilles, Chrysler's senior vice president of design is refreshingly candid, telling Autoblog, "Our previous generation of leaders didn't understand the car very well, and kind of forced this front end on us." For 2015, Gilles and Co. have worked to recapture some of the 2005 design's lightning in a bottle. In Gilles' words, the brief for the refreshed 2015 model was to "give the car the attitude it deserves... up the attitude, up the presence."
Visually, the new 300 initially appears very similar to the current car, but closer inspection and side-by-side comparisons reveal countless changes, the most noticeable being a much larger front grille (by about 30 percent), redone light fixtures and a 'Mobius-strip' lower fascia that picks up where the new 200 left off. The cabin has been upgraded, too, with a standard seven-inch display in the gauge cluster, the latest UConnect infotainment system and improved material choices.
