1966 Newport convertible - runs great - no taps or ticks even when cold - drive it anywhere - just drove it 200 miles after it was sitting for the winter - top is excellent - there are no pictures with the top down as it is too cold and I don't want to damage it. it's power and works great.

dual exhaust - ac car / not hooked up - car gives a great smooth ride

body is in nice shape - no rot - missing a letter on the hood - missing a piece of chrome on passenger fender - can't find them right now - car can sit out in the pouring rain as it has absolutely no leaks - we just had real bad rain right before I took the pictures

the underneath has been oiled every year - it is in great shape - trunk is great - seats and dash are fine - door panels need to be redone - it's mileage is unknown as the odometer hasn't worked in a while - I have a replacement to go with the car - see the picture of it (actually didn't include the picture as only 24 pictures allowed - but it will be sold with the car)

this has been the same owner since 1983 - close to 4k was spent rebuilding the motor and tranny - slips are included - there are pictures of them - also slips of all oil changes and everything else done since 1983

all registrations from 1983 to current - car has been in Georgia, New Hampshire, and Connecticut from the same owner. ct is a non title state so you will get current registration - then your state will issue you a title. you will get bill of sale and current registration.

you can fly in and drive the car anywhere - it just is a great driver = no issues at all for driving it to California / or wherever.

odometer doesn't work / but speedometer does / ac doesn't work - not hooked up / radio seems to have stopped - I will check it - all lights work and the charging and coolant systems work fine. the oil is so clean it's hard to see on the dipstick. the cold light works when you start the car - and shuts off in a minute or two when the car warms up. tires are great - exhaust is great.

bumpers will need to be rechromed - feel free to come check the car out - checks are fine - car will stay until it clears. shipping the car is fine also. if you want any other pictures just email me and ask for them - I will do a you tube with it running when I grab my kids with their fancy phones to do it.

Share price falls on skepticism of Chrysler-Fiat five-year plan

Thu, 08 May 2014

Following this week's Fiat Chrysler extravaganza, where the Italian-American manufacturer announced its plans for the next five years, the Autoblog staff was cautiously optimistic of the company's future. Investors? Not so much.
Fiat saw its shares tumble 12 percent in Wednesday's trading, falling from 8.67 euros ($12.06 at today's rates) to 7.44 euros ($10.35) as of this writing, with blame partly going to the Italian half of the FCA marriage, which recorded a pretty significant drop in profits during the first quarter of this year.
The plan, which will cost around $77 billion over the next several years, is facing criticism from investors thanks in part to a 1.4-percent drop in Fiat's first-quarter profits, to 622 million euros ($862 million). That figure is also short of Bloomberg analysts' projections, which predicted $1.18 billion in profits before taxes, interest and one-time items.

Jeep hiring 1,000 part-time workers in Toledo on Wrangler, Cherokee demand

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The new Jeep Cherokee has been quite a success for Chrysler, but its factory workers are getting tired. The automaker has agreed to hire up to 1,000 part-time, temporary employees at its Toledo Assembly Complex where the CUV and Wrangler are built. It will allow the company to keep Jeep production moving, while giving laborers a break.
According to plant manager Chuck Padden in the Toledo Blade, full-time workers are regularly taking on 60 hours a week, and it's beginning to wear on them. "To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they're refreshed, and can work safely," said Padden.
Chrysler has already hired 380 temporary, part-time workers for the plant, and 50 have been converted to full-time employees. The company is in the process of interviewing the rest of the new hires now and plans to have all 1,000 in place by the summer. They will work between 10 and 30 hours a week mostly on weekends for $15.78 per hour with limited benefits. The temporary positions will last "as long as demand continues for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Cherokee," said Jodi Tinson, Chrysler spokesperson for manufacturing and labor communications, to Autoblog in an email.

Fiat, PSA poised to win EU approval for $38 billion Stellantis merger

Mon, Oct 26 2020

BRUSSELS/MILAN — Fiat Chrysler and PSA are set to win EU approval for their $38 billion merger to create the world's No.4 carmaker, people close to the matter said, as they strive to meet the industry's dual challenges of funding cleaner vehicles and the global pandemic. The green light from the European Commission would formalize the creation of Stellantis, a carmaking group that could tap hefty profits from selling Ram pickup trucks and Jeep SUVs to U.S. drivers to fund the expensive development of zero-emission vehicles for sale in Europe and China. The all-share merger announced late last year would unite brands such as Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Maserati with the likes of Peugeot, Opel and DS — while targeting annual cost cuts of 5 billion euros ($6 billion) without closing factories. The Commission and Italian-American group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) declined to comment. France's PSA did not immediately respond to a request for comment. PSA and FCA shares reversed losses after the Reuters story was published. PSA stock was last up 2% at 16.83 euros, while FCA shares were 1.9% higher at 11.31 euros. To allay EU antitrust concerns, PSA has offered to strengthen Japanese rival Toyota Motor Corp, with which it has a van joint venture, by ramping up production and selling it vans at close to cost price, the people said. FCA and PSA will also allow their dealers in certain cities to repair rival brands. Following feedback from rivals and customers, the carmakers only had to tweak the wording of their concessions, with no changes to the substance, the people said. The companies did not have to use the COVID-19 pandemic to argue for the merger, they added. FCA and PSA have said they hope to complete the merger in the first quarter of 2021. The challenge of switching to electric cars has been complicated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Just last month, FCA and PSA restructured the terms of their deal to conserve cash and raised their targeted cost savings because of the economic fallout from the health crisis. The companies have said about 40% of the savings will come from product-related expenses, 40% from purchasing and 20% from other areas, such as marketing, IT and logistics.
