GENERAL:

Very nice original 1962 Chrysler New Yorker.

While not considered a "classic", this vehicle is still a great looking car of the care-free early sixties.  Her name is Ethyl (though you can rename her).

Vehicle has been owned by me and garage stored (covered) for the last 7 years.

This was a running and driving car with working everything when I last used it. But that was a while ago.  I haven't started the engine in a few years. So the only thing wrong with the car would be time and lack of use.

Please review the pictures. Contact me with any or all questions and I will try to answer them.

EXTERIOR:

The car has no visible rust. There are a few small bubble spots. Also some flaking/rub areas were the paint is off from the metal.

Paint is Rosewood (taupey pink color).  The paint on the sides of the vehicle is in better shape than the top surfaces.  The hood and trunk surfaces have had the paint marred.  It is cloudy and scratched up.  It looks like someone who didn't know what they were doing took an orbital polisher to the surface.

This is a very solid car.  All trim is present. All doors, hood and trunk panels fit well and close tight.

The Chrysler New Yorker emblem in the front grill is missing.  Reproduction emblems can be ordered online.

Radio antenna has been removed/broken (?) off.  But is still with vehicle and fits back on the exterior mount.

Rear Glass has been previously replaced.

 INTERIOR:

The interior is in overall good shape but upholstery needs cleaning. Of coarse smells musty due to age. There is one tear w/ tape on it on the drivers seat back cushion at the bottom.

Headliner has holes: middle by sun visors, by passenger side front and rear, and in the rear back on both sides. Carpet has the normal wear and tear and looks like it has properly been replaced.

Dash/Odometer has the clear dome panel..Pushbutton Transmission Gears.  All switches and buttons are present and working.

ENGINE:

Engine is a 413.  The times I've run it, it wants to go like a bat out of hell.

I never did any work on the engine and can't tell you much about it.

Battery should have been disconnected, but was not.

 CONCERNS:

Tires: Probably need replacement. I'm not sure how old they are.  They went flat from sitting, but when filled they hold the air again.

Exhaust: The exhaust has a plastic/rubber tube in place of an exhaust pipe.

Fuel:  The previous owner was out of gas to show/run the vehicle, so he put some mix (oil/gas) in instead.  Vehicle exhausted black smoke.  The fuel tank would probably need to be drained/cleaned.

EXTRAS:

There are several spare parts in a box.

There are two rear taillight lenses and one taillight chrome bracket trim.

2 Chrome trim pieces - not really sure where they go.

Carpet fabric for trunk.

Extra chrome vent strips.

2015 Chrysler 200

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

For the last seven years, the Chrysler Sebring/200 has been a car that few people have managed to say anything good about. When you saw one on the road, it was probably silver and you probably assumed it was rented - especially if it was a convertible. In fact, this writer has never been in one. Ever. I've only watched them go by, trailed always by a roiling wake of invective and vituperation, a lone defender or two asserting meekly and in vain, "It's actually not that bad..."
With roughly 2.3-million units sold every year in the midsize sedan segment where the 200 lives, even tallying 125,476 sales in 2012 (when the 200 was the best-selling car in the Chrysler Group) was never going to be enough. This is the brand's volume offering and the entry point for new-car buyers before they move up to something like a full-size or a crossover. Chrysler's 2011 facelift and rebranding program was a pretty valiant attempt at putting lipstick on a Sebring, but the automaker needed to do a lot better, in every way to command more consideration, sales, respect and resale value - and everyone at The Pentastar knew it.
Enter the 2015 Chrysler 200. This is the sedan that "charts a new course for the Chrysler brand," from its hovering wing badge on the grille to the one billion dollars invested in the company's suburban Detroit Sterling Heights Assembly Plant, including more than doubling the number of quality control inspectors in the new quality assurance center.

Chrysler withdraws from UK market

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Ford factors big in the British market, as does GM's Vauxhall brand. But one automaker that will be missing from the UK from here on out will be Chrysler, as the latest reports coming in from the British Isles indicate that the American brand is closing up shop. For the past few years, Chrysler has been selling a combination of its own models as well as rebadged Lancias to British customers, but has been having a tough time making a go of it. After just a few short years of lackluster sales, Chrysler UK ceased selling the Delta, and according to Auto Express, is now withdrawing the 300C and Grand Voyager as well. That leaves just the Ypsilon, which will reportedly continue on an on-demand basis if customers ask for it, but even that will end by 2017. The withdrawal of the Chrysler brand from the British market mirrors that of Lancia, under whose name the same models are sold in continental Europe but which is now being confined strictly to Italy, where it will similarly continue to sell the Ypsilon. Of course that doesn't mean that FCA is withdrawing from the British market altogether. The Fiat, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Jeep brands will continue being offered in the UK, as will Maserati and Ferrari. Just don't expect to see many wing-badged Chryslers on the high street anymore – not that you would have until now. Last year the Chrysler brand reportedly sold fewer than 2,000 units in the UK, compared to the 10,000+ examples of just the Fiat 500 it moves there every month. 2021 Chrysler Pacifica refresh spotted with its new bits covered

Fri, Jan 31 2020

The Chrysler Pacifica is the critical darling of the minivan segment, but FCA seems keen to make it even better with a 2021 refresh we're expecting to see later this year. From these photos, we can tell that FCA's beloved people hauler will get some front- and rear-end updates. The spy who captured these photos also passed along the fact that the engineers inside moved quickly to cover up its interior, hinting that there will be news on that front as well. There might be more to this that we can't see from the outside. Rumors have been swirling for the better part of a year that Chrysler has plans to add all-wheel drive to the Pacifica's option sheet.  FCA has remained mum about this potential development, but it would be a logical step to keep the minivan relevant as the industry continues to feel the effects of crossover creep.  If it does come to fruition, this wouldn't be the first time FCA has offered all-wheel drive on a minivan, but historically the feature has come at the expense of another wildly popular option: the company's Stow 'n Go seating system, as the cubbies have always occupied the same space that would be needed to install a prop shaft to carry power to the rear axle. Maybe FCA's engineers have figured out how to combine the two, or will simply offer both as options that can't be combined as they have in the past. Given what appears to be the production-ready state of this particular test car, we may not have to wait long to find out.Â
