BEAUTIFUL 1962 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER 413 V8 WITH PUSHBUTTON AUTOMATIC TRANS. ORIGINAL UNRESTORED. RUNS AND DRIVES BUT NEEDS BRAKE WORK, BRAKES GRAB AND LOCK UP UNTILL THEY GET WARM. CAR HAS BEEN OWNED BY THE SAME COUPLE FOR OVER 40 YEARS. THEY ALWAYS KEPT IT IN PERFECT CONDITION. UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO DECLINING HEALTH, THE CAR SAT UNUSED FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS. I AM SELLING THE CAR FOR THEM AND I HAVE DONE SOME REPAIRS. I HAVE COMPLETELY CLEANED THE FUEL SYSTEM INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL CARBURETOR REBUILD, I ALSO REPLACED THE RADIATOR HOSES AND RUBBER BRAKE HOSES. ALL I HAVE DONE IS TO MAKE THE CAR MOBILE. I THINK A NEW SET OF BRAKE SHOES WOULD FIX THE BRAKES.TIRES WERE NEW IN APROX 2005 AND SHOW NO SIGNS OF WEAR OR AGE. DASH LIGHTS WORK WELL, TEMP GAUGE AND FUEL GAUGE ARE NOT WORKING. INTERIOR IS IN GREAT SHAPE, NO TEARS AT ALL. THE REAR SEAT STILL HAS THE PLASTIC COVER FROM THE FACTORY. BODY IN VERY NICE, ALMOST COMPLETELY RUST FREE. ALL TRIM IS THERE AND NICE. THERE ARE SOME MINOR DINGS AND SCRATCHES FROM YEARS OF USE. OVERALL THIS CAR IS IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE, WITH A FEW MINOR REPAIRS AND A LITTLE TLC IT COULD BE PERFECT AGAIN.
I HAVE TRIED TO INCLUDE ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT I KNOW ABOUT. IF YOU HAVE MORE QUESTIONS JUST ASK. |

Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Fiat Chrysler's Q3 profit boosted by strong North American earnings
Tue, Oct 24 2017MILAN, Italy — Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) reported a 17 percent jump in third-quarter adjusted operating profit on Tuesday, helped by a strong performance in its key North American market and improving operations in Europe and Latin America. The world's seventh-largest carmaker still makes the lion's share of its profits in North America, so improving, or at least maintaining, its margins there is a key focus. The carmaker reported an 8 percent adjusted operating profit margin in the region, up from 7.6 percent a year ago, despite a drop in sales and shipments. "FCA's profitability in North America remained strong in the quarter despite a weakening market there," a Milan-based analyst said. FCA's profitability compares with an 8.3 percent North America margin reached in the quarter by bigger U.S. rival GM , showing CEO Sergio Marchionne making progress towards his goal of closing the margin gap with GM and the company's other U.S. rival, Ford, by 2018. The company's confirmation of its full-year outlook also pushed shares higher, a trader added. The stock was up 2.8 percent by 1129 GMT, outperforming a 1 percent rise in the European auto index. FCA has been retooling some U.S. factories to boost output of sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) and trucks while ending production of some unprofitable sedans to strengthen profitability as the U.S. car market comes off its peak. The company said a drop in North America shipments due to lower fleet sales and discontinued models was partially offset by higher deliveries of Ram trucks and two models from the Alfa Romeo stable: the Stelvio sport utility vehicle and Giulia sedan. Profitability also improved in Europe, helped by sales of the Stelvio and the new Jeep Compass, and Latin America, while margins at Maserati remained strong at 13.8 percent due to strong demand for its first SUV, the Levante. In a later conference call, investors are looking for hints on the new strategy to 2022 which the company promised to unveil early next year. Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne said earlier this year that FCA would streamline its portfolio and that components businesses, including Magneti Marelli, would be separated from the group, possibly via a spin-off. While FCA confirmed its targets this year, doubts remain about its exposure to a weakening U.S. market, recall costs and potential fines over emissions after it was targeted by European and U.S.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles targets mid-October IPO
Thu, 04 Sep 2014The merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is targeting October 13 to launch its initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, CEO Sergio Marchionne told reporters assembled for a meeting in Rimini, Italy.
"The most likely date for the listing in the US is October 13," Marchionne said, according to Reuters.
Marchionne is trusting that the money made in the IPO will be contribute heavily his ambitious, $64-billion five-year growth plan, which will see FCA reboot Alfa Romeo and Maserati and expand Jeep's global presence. Should the IPO fall short, though, Marchionne has confirmed that "all decision [sic] on any capital increase will be taken by the board of FCA at the end of October."
