There is no rust or body work that we know of. All glass is good and clear, the interior is Black Cloth with leather bolsters. It's riding on 4 very good condition radials. It also has a factory trailer hitch. What the car does need before it can be cruised is a carbuator rebuild and a tune up. It started and ran well when it was stored in 1996 and it has been started regularly but not driven. Upon starting it recently it starts and stalls, it needs to be revedto stay running and there is a miss. Despite it not running well, the motor does sound good with no taps or ticks. The gas tank did have STABIL added each fall but the gas is very suspect now as it smells when the car is running."

Hello,   this auction is for a "B" titled 1968 Imperial Crown four door hardtop.

It was purchase from the original owners family in 1996 and he was a military man. The title is branded "Out of Country" because he used this car in the Sudan.

It was built for export and he brought it home with him.

It s in very good, original condition- Body, Chrome, Interior, Stainless trim, Glass, Top.  The tires are also very good. There is no body work that we are aware of and the entire outside of the car has minimal wear, which is appropriate to it's 47,000 original miles. It is equipped with a 440 cu inch motor and coupled to a 727 transmission. It may or may not have a posi-traction rear. It does have a factory type trailer hitch. The rugs are good in the iterior as well as in the trunk. There is an original triple stripe whitewall tire in the trunk.

The car has been owned by me since 1995 or 1996 and was purchased from the owners estate. The car was placed into storage when I bought it. At that time it was running a little rough and in need of a carburator rebuild. I started the car this week and it does need the carb replaced or rebuilt as it starts, stalls and sometimes back fires. The gas has been treated over the years with STABIL but it is probably fouled and suspect of the poor running. It will start and tries to idle but will stall if not given a little pressure on the gas pedal.

The two rear power windows are stuck in the closed posistion and the power antenna activates but doesn't raise. I do ot know if the air conditioning needs a charge or not. The car is equipped with cruise control/auto pilot but has not been tested.

This car was purchased for $5000,00 and not driven by me, it was put into storage and not used so it is in need of some basic CPR to run and operate as it should.

It is being sold 100% AS IS.

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.

Chrysler recalls AWD 300, Charger, Ram 1500 over ZF transmission

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

What do the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger and Ram 1500 all have in common? Yes, they're all Chrysler products, and two of them are based on the same platform. And we're sure you could find more similarities between them all, but the common trait we're looking at here is that, while they all come standard in rear-drive form, they're also available with all-wheel drive. And it's the transmission in those models that's the subject of the latest recall notice issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The output shaft on the eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF to Chrysler for the AWD versions of the 300, Charger and Ram 1500 is apparently prone to fracture. That in the end could leave the vehicle without power and could, according to the NHTSA investigation, increase the chance of a crash. The vehicle could also roll away if even if left in Park without the handbrake applied.
That's why Chrysler is calling in 4,194 examples of those three models from the 2013 model year. Dealers will be responsible for inspecting the transmissions and, where necessary, replace the entire unit. See the full recall notice below for all the details.

China-FCA merger could be a win-win for everyone but politicians

Tue, Aug 15 2017

NEW YORK — Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne has said the car industry needs to come together, cut costs and stop incinerating capital. So far, his words have mostly fallen on deaf ears among competitors in Europe and North America. But it appears Marchionne has finally found a receptive audience — in China. FCA shares soared Monday after trade publication Automotive News reported the $18 billion Italian-American conglomerate controlled by the Agnelli family rebuffed a takeover from an unidentified carmaker from the Chinese mainland. As ugly as the politics of such a combination may appear at first blush, a transaction could stack up industrially, and perhaps even financially. A Sino-U.S.-European merger would create the first truly global auto group. That could push consolidation to the next level elsewhere. Moreover, China is the world's top market for the SUVs that Jeep effectively invented, so it might benefit FCA financially. A combo would certainly help upgrade the domestic manufacturer; Chinese carmakers have gotten better at making cars, but struggle to build global brands, and they need to develop export markets. Though frivolous overseas shopping excursions by Chinese enterprises are being reined in by Beijing, acquisitions that support the modernization and transformation of strategic industries still receive support, and the government considers the automotive industry to be strategic. A purchase of FCA by Guangzhou Automobile, Great Wall or Dongfeng Motors would probably get the same stamp of approval ChemChina was given for its $43 billion takeover of Syngenta. What's standing in the way? Apart from price (Automotive News said FCA's board deemed the offer insufficient) there's the not-insignificant matter of politics. Even as FCA shares soared, President Donald Trump interrupted his vacation to instruct the U.S. Trade Representative to look into whether to investigate China's trade policies on intellectual property. Seeing storied Detroit brands like Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge handed off to a Chinese company would provoke howls among Trump's economic-nationalist supporters. It might not play well in Italy, either, to see Alfa Romeo and Maserati answering to Wuhan instead of Turin — though Automotive News said they might be spun off separately. Yet, as Morgan Stanley observes, "cars don't ship across oceans easily," and political considerations increasingly demand local manufacture of valuable products.
