I got this car from my Grandfather many years ago and it has sat for a while. I started to get it going and lost interest. The car is in really good cosmetic shape and runs fine. I had the brakes rebuilt and anyone who knows these cars will tell you that is a hard thing to find the parts for and have done. I have no room for it and would not sell if I could keep but she has got to go. All that really is needed for road worthy is a battery, tires carb rebuilt and I would drop the gas tank and have it cleaned. Tranny slips a bit but just needs the fluid changed and driven more than likely. The car is being sold as is and does come with a current CA. registration so its not a non opp. I can help set up shipping but buyer is responsible for cost. The car is located in 92007 zip to estimate shipping and can be picked up easily from location. Please feel free to ask any Questions and happy bidding. Marchionne to take his sweater and go home after 2018
Wed, 08 Oct 2014The end is in sight for Fiat Chrysler boss Sergio Marchionne, who confirmed in an interview with Bloomberg that once FCA's sweeping five-year plan is completed, he'd be stepping down from his post to "undoubtedly" do something else that didn't involve turning around global corporations. That would mean he should finish up after 2018 if all goes according to plan.
"It's as important to walk away from the table as it is to sit down," Marchionne told Bloomberg.
Marchionne has been at Fiat since June of 2004 and is one of the chief architects behind the Italian company's acquisition of Chrysler. Despite his successes, he does sound quite ready to move beyond the auto industry, rhetorically asking his Bloomberg interviewers if there "are other things I like to do apart from this?"
Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Ram confirms Fiat Ducato vans to form new Promaster series for US
Wed, 28 Nov 2012Chrysler has officially confirmed that Ram will develop an all-new large van for the US market based on the Fiat Ducato. The commercial rig will go on sale in the third quarter of next year, joining the Ram C/V on the company's professional van line. Expect to see the Promaster face off against the Ford Transit and revised Chevrolet Express.
Chrysler is pretty skimpy on details when it comes to the Promaster, but it has said the vehicle will make use of "familiar Ram Truck styling cues." The van will reportedly also bow with powertrains targeted specifically at the North American market.
Chrysler and Ram made the announcement ahead of the LA Auto Show alongside news that the company will launch a new Ram commercial truck division.
