1965 Imperial Crown convertible. The car is black, w/white leather seats, a black power top, and black carpeting.

413 Imperial V-8 engine.   413 cubic inches, rated at 340 horsepower (That's only 35 less than the 375 of a 440 Magnum, in case you were wondering).  The engine starts easily and runs well.  It is smooth and powerful.  The TorqueFlite automatic transmission shifts smoothly.   I checked the steering and suspension components and there is virtually no wear.   The car runs and drives great.

Was purchased new by Dr. David R Hawkins. (You can Google him, he's a published author who's been on the Oprah Winfrey show.  He passed away last year.)  He was a controversial figure, and his Wikipedia entry was removed & there are several stories about why it was removed.  I have no opinion to express on this....I just don't honestly know the answer to that question.  I have his license plate and plenty of  documentation.  His name is on the original dash plaque still installed on the car.   I do know that he drove this car.

It's very difficult to describe accurately what kind of condition a car is in, using words....especially a car with so many features, like an Imperial.  I will try - but you should come look at the car and drive it to appreciate it.  I love driving it.  The car looks good, and it drives great.

The car has had professional rust repair work and body work, & was professionally repainted recently and looks great.  New professionally installed convertible top and custom fabricated well.  The top is in the correct grain for an Imperial.  The power convertible top works. Professionally rechromed bumpers.  Driveshaft was professionally rebuilt and balanced, new center mount and bearing.  I overhauled the rear differential and replaced the bearings and seals.   The carpeting is new.  Brakes are all new, including computer bend OE looking brake lines, hoses, shoes, etc. Converted to dual master cylinder for greater safety. Runs and drives great! New tires. I am a former Chrysler Master Technician & did much of the work myself.  Car is not perfect.   Both front leather seats are fully power adjustable (and work), and the passenger seat reclines.  The seats leather has cracks, but have been re-dyed using leatherique. I repainted the seat shells, reworked the padding and innards of the seats. I think that they look good, and are comfortable.  Reupholstery would be in order if you want to go that far with it. Upper half of engine repainted and has new decals, plugs, reproduction wires, and all the correct wire holders.  Radiator was rebuilt, and a new water pump installed.  Brand new leaf springs and torque control links in the rear.  New shocks all around.  Car still has the original AM/FM radio.  I replaced the front speaker and rear speaker with new aftermarket, but made it so you can't see the difference.  The rear speaker fade button works well, as does the power antenna.  New MoPar belts and radiator hoses.  New heater hoses.  Reproduction hose clamps on the radiator and heater hoses.  New excellent quality custom bent exhaust that looks very much like the original, and sounds nice, smooth, powerful, and quiet - like it should. New windlace (that's the trim around the edges of door openings and pillars) in the interior. AC is inoperative, the evaporator leaks.  I upgraded the starter to a new one that is quieter.  Power steering cooler is still on the car, but has been bypassed.  Brand new fuel tank.  I installed the upgraded door hinge roller/detent assemblies that were made by Lowell Howe in CA.   Odometer is inop.  I suspect the car has over 100,000 miles, but cannot prove it.  Power locks work, even with the LF door lock cylinder (both doors lock automatically when locking the drivers door with the key) and have new solenoids.  Power windows work, with the following exceptions: LR power window doesn't always work, power vent window switch need replacement.  Could use a new wiper switch. The car could use a few things, and a few things do not work, or work perfectly.  Has new rear parking brake cables.  Needs a new instrument cluster volt limiter.  Fuel gage doesn't work, and that may be why.  Trunk weatherstripping is new.   New underhood insulation blanket.   The gas filler door in the rear has its Eagle intact, and works well.  All the cigar lighters work.  I believe that every one of the many courtesy and map lights work on the car, as well as the glove box light and the trunk light.   Comes with spare tire and the jack components that I have.   I love the car, but wife wants it to go.

The car drives great.   I wish every car handled and rode like this car does!   I drive it around during the summer and store it during the rest of the year.

Includes: Chrysler Factory Service Manual,  Chrysler Factory Parts catalog, Hollander Interchange Manual, all documentation from previous owners (I believe that I am the 4th owner of this car.    Dr David R. Hawkins, then his ex-wife: Maggie Hawkins....  I will give you more details in private correspondence.  I'm not sure how much should be posted on the internet)  The license plate that I believe was Dr Hawkins plate when he had the largest practice in NYC.  Also includes all the receipts that I have and parts sources, etc.

I didn't wash or clean the car up for the pictures.  I wish that I would have, but I didn't have the time.  I drive it around, I don't show the car.  It looks good in the pics...but it's not even clean!

You can come and inspect the car on my hoist in my well lit, professional auto repair shop.  You can come and road test the car.   Bring your own expert along, if you like.   I would rather have you come and look at it, drive it, and decide how nice YOU think the car is.    Because condition of a car is very subjective and is very hard for 2 people to describe the same way, I want you to get what you want and expect.  BUT, if you 'buy it' on eBay - I expect you to honor that.   The time to decide whether or not to buy the car is before committing to buying it.   I want to be fair to both of us.  So please, come look, inspect, drive, then decide to buy this cool car.

UPDATED: ‘The auto industry has lost a true giant’

Wed, Jul 25 2018

Former Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne, one of the auto industry's most tenacious and respected auto chiefs, has died, succumbing to complications from surgery. Following are some of THE tributes paid to Marchionne:Apple CEO Tim Cook: "Sad to hear of the unexpected passing of Sergio Marchionne, an auto industry visionary and a remarkable leader. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone at Fiat Chrysler."U.S. President Donald Trump: "Sergio Marchionne, who passed away today, was one of the most brilliant & successful car executives since the days of the legendary Henry Ford. It was a great honor for me to get to know Sergio as POTUS, he loved the car industry, and fought hard for it. He will be truly missed!"Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: "He was a giant in the auto industry, a friend of the Italian-Canadian community, and a visionary in the corporate world. Sergio Marchionne's death is a huge loss, and Sophie and I send our condolences to his family and friends."PSA Group CEO Carlos Tavares: "I am extremely sorry to hear this very sad news and I extend my sincere condolences to the family of Sergio Marchionne. Marchionne's leadership will remain our benchmark in the automotive industry."Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sergio Marchionne. On behalf of all of us at Aston Martin Lagonda, I would like to extend our sincere sympathies and condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles."Daimler Chief Executive Dieter Zetsche: "The auto industry has lost a real giant. And many of us have lost a very dear friend: Sergio Marchionne."Gary Jones, United Auto Workers President: "During the industry's dark days of the recession, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM were at a perilous point. Working with the UAW members, the FCA rebirth was born when many doubted it would come. As in all labor-management relationships, there were clashes and disagreements." "And when history looks back at his legacy, despite bumps and bruises along the way, in the end, the sun wasn't setting when he left the company, the sun was rising. That will long be remembered."Chase Carey, Chairman and CEO of Formula One motor racing: "He led with great passion, energy and insight, and inspired all around him. His contributions to Formula 1 are immeasurable.

2021 Chrysler Pacifica refresh spotted with its new bits covered

Fri, Jan 31 2020

The Chrysler Pacifica is the critical darling of the minivan segment, but FCA seems keen to make it even better with a 2021 refresh we're expecting to see later this year. From these photos, we can tell that FCA's beloved people hauler will get some front- and rear-end updates. The spy who captured these photos also passed along the fact that the engineers inside moved quickly to cover up its interior, hinting that there will be news on that front as well. There might be more to this that we can't see from the outside. Rumors have been swirling for the better part of a year that Chrysler has plans to add all-wheel drive to the Pacifica's option sheet.  FCA has remained mum about this potential development, but it would be a logical step to keep the minivan relevant as the industry continues to feel the effects of crossover creep.  If it does come to fruition, this wouldn't be the first time FCA has offered all-wheel drive on a minivan, but historically the feature has come at the expense of another wildly popular option: the company's Stow 'n Go seating system, as the cubbies have always occupied the same space that would be needed to install a prop shaft to carry power to the rear axle. Maybe FCA's engineers have figured out how to combine the two, or will simply offer both as options that can't be combined as they have in the past. Given what appears to be the production-ready state of this particular test car, we may not have to wait long to find out.

Ferrari to be spun off from Fiat Chrysler

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

The recently merged Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire has ambitious plans for growth, and it's going to need some big bucks in its coffers in order to enact them. Part of that cash injection is coming from the floating of its IPO on the New York Stock Exchange, but now FCA has announced a further capital campaign to be based on the enormous asset that is Ferrari.
FCA's board of directors has just approved the separation of Ferrari from the rest of the group as a separate entity. Once that separation is complete, Ferrari will put 10 percent of its shares on the stock market "in the United States and possibly a European exchange" as well.
This isn't the first time that the idea of a Ferrari IPO has been raised. Sergio Marchionne, chief executive of Chrysler, Fiat and Ferrari (pictured above), first raised the idea four years ago. Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo nixed the idea, but now that he's been discharged, it appears there's nothing to get in the way of Marchionne's desires.
