1963 Chrystler LeBaron 4 door hard top. Last of the really cool style Imperials before they went for the square look body. Only 1537 LeBarons were built in 1963. 413 cubic inch, 340 horsepower Wedge V8 engine, push button automatic transmission. Power everything. Was running when parked 2 years ago. Solid body with a few dents and very little rust, all hinges are solid. This IS NOT a Midwest rust bucket with sagging doors or missing sheet metal. Engine is complete, just dusty. Interior is is 98% complete, again, just dusty, but could use reupholstered if you want a show car, but perfect if you want a Rat Rod. Either way, all is there for making patterns. Have an extra front grill and 1962 rocket style tail lights available if interested. I recommend that this vehicle be trailered to its new home as I did not drive it, I only drove it off the trailer. Be it restored, custom hot rod, or Rat Rod, this car will turn heads when you drive up. Hate to let it go, would be fun to build a custom out of this one but I have to many cars to build. |

Jeep sets all-time sales record in 2012
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Last year was good to Jeep. Chrysler has announced its trail-rated brand set an all-time global sales record in 2012 by moving 701,626 units. That number easily surpasses the previous record set in 1999 when Jeep sold 675,494 models. All told, the brand saw a 19-percent sales increase worldwide over 2011, and much of that swell can be traced directly to the Wrangler. While the Grand Cherokee led Jeep sales, the Wrangler posted record numbers both globally and within the US, moving 194,142 and 141,669 units in each market, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Compass beat its previous global sales record with 103,321 units rolling off of dealer lots. In the US, Jeep sold 62,010 Patriot units, breaking that model's previous record as well. Jeep's impressive performance in 2012 marks the second year in a row the brand has seen double-digit percentage sales increases. Check out the full press release below.
Chrysler-Fiat quality chief out after another poor Consumer Reports showing
Tue, 28 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler has announced a management change following the company's woeful performance in the latest Consumer Reports Annual Auto Reliability Survey. Of the 28 brands surveyed, FCA's marques occupied the five the seven lowest scores, while Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat were the four lowest scorers.
Doug Betts, FCA's 51-year-old head of quality "left the company to pursue other interests," which, considering the aforementioned paragraph, means he was sacked. According to Automotive News, Betts joined Chrysler in 2007, defecting from Nissan, and, insiders report, had a somewhat tumultuous relationship with new boss Sergio Marchionne.
His replacement is the newly promoted Matthew Lidane (shown at inset), who was formerly VP of systems and components. Lidane has been at Chrysler since 1987 and was previously chief engineer of the Jeep product team as well as the vehicle line boss for the compact US wide platform which (ironically) underpins two of FCA's lowest scoring vehicles, the Dodge Dart and Jeep Cherokee.
