  1955 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL SEDAN

PERHAPS NOT MANY KNOW THAT THE 1955 IMPERIAL SEDAN WAS A ONE YEAR ONLY CAR. CHRYSLER WANTED TO  COMPETE WITH FLEETWOOD  SO THEY MADE EXTRA LEG ROOM IN THE BACK SEAT COMPARTMENT. THE IDEA DID NOT ATTRACT ENOUGH BUYERS SO JUST A LITTLE OVER 75OO UNITS WERE SOLD. THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH PRODUCTION TO JUSTIFY ANOTHER YEAR SO IN 1956 IMPERIAL USED THE STANDARD NEW YORKER SEDAN WITH AN IMPERIAL FRONT CLIP.

THESE BEAUTIFUL CARS WERE ONLY AVAILABLE AT CHRYSLER-PLYMOUTH DEALERS NOT EXACTLY THE ENVIRONMENT A LUXURY CAR BUYER WAS LOOKING FOR. AFTER ALL CADILLAC HAD BEAUTIFUL STAND ALONE DEALERSHIPS WITH AMENITIES GALORE TO ATTRACT THE LUXURY BUYER. HAD THIS BUYER PERSISTED, HOWEVER, THEY WOULD HAVE FOUND A BEAUTIFUL VIRGIL EXNER INSPIRED DESIGN WHICH WAS THE FLAGSHIP OF CHRYSLER'S NEW FORWARD LOOK. THE 1955 IMPERIAL MAY BE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 50'S SEDANS EVER BUILT FINISHED OFF WITH A NEW GUNSIGHT TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE REAR FENDERS. THE CAR LOOKED IMPORTANT AND INDEED LENT A VIABLE ALTERNATIVE TO CADILLAC AND LINCOLN.

QUALITY AND DRIVE TRAIN MADE IMPERIAL A FABULOUS ROAD CAR. A 352 INCH HEMI ENGINE COUPLED WITH CHRYSLER'S FIRST FULLY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS THE BEST IN THE FIELD.

OUR CAR IS A LOW MILEAGE ORIGINAL. ALTHOUGH IT ONLY SHOWS SOME 22 K MILES FROM NEW THIS IS NOT DOCUMENTED AND SHOULD NOT BE RELIED UPON. HOWEVER, IT WILL BE CLEAR ON CLOSE INSPECTION THAT THIS CAR IS NOT A HIGH MILER EITHER. THE ENTIRE CAR IS EXCELLENT ORIGINAL WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ONE RESPRAY OF THE NEW SPRING YELLOW COLOR AND NEW CORRECT IMPERIAL SEAT UPHOLSTERY. THE CAR IS FITTED WITH FACTORY AIR THAT WORKS AND BLOWS COLD, WIRE WHEELS, DIAMOND BACK RADIAL WHITE WALL TIRES, HEMI ENGINE, POWERFLITE TRANSMISSION, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, POWER WINDOWS, POWER SEAT, RADIO AND HEATER AND CLOCK.

WE BELIEVE THIS COULD BE ONE OF THE NICEST 1955 IMPERIAL SEDANS AVAILABLE IN A STRIKING PERIOD COLOR COMBINATION AND CHRYSLER AIRTEMP AIR CONDITIONING. IT IS PRESENTED IN MARVELOUS ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH RECENT PAINT AND INTERIOR SEAT UPHOLSTERY.

Chrysler officially rebrands as FCA US LLC

Tue, Dec 16 2014

Detroit's third-largest automaker has had a lot of names over the years. It was founded as the Chrysler Corporation in 1925, a name it held until 1998 when it was bought by ze Germans in 1998 to form DaimlerChrysler AG, then it went independent in 2007 under the name Chrysler LLC before being retitled once again as Chrysler Group LLC in 2009. And now the automaker headquartered in Auburn Hills, MI, is getting yet another new name. Announced today and effective immediately, the company formerly known as Chrysler will now be called FCA US LLC. That's a lot of letters, but they make a lot of sense, too: FCA stands for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, the US telling us this is the company's American division and the LLC tells us it's a limited liability company – a legal classification similar to (but not quite the same as) a corporation. The announcement comes shortly after the company decided to phase out its long-serving Pentastar logo. The sum total is that the once-independent industrial giant is now formally part of a larger European parent company, owned by Fiat and (for taxation purposes, anyway) based in the Netherlands. What the company formerly known as Chrysler wants to emphasize, however, is that FCA US LLC will remain based in Auburn Hills and retain its "holdings, management team, board [and] brands." Chrysler Group LLC Announces New Company Name: FCA US LLC U.S.-based Automaker's New Name Aligns With Global Parent December 16, 2014 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - Chrysler Group LLC, the Auburn Hills, Michigan-based automaker, today announced that it has changed its company name to FCA US LLC. The name change is effective immediately and follows the naming convention of its global parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA), which officially adopted its new name in October when it listed on the New York Stock Exchange. The name change to FCA US LLC does not affect the company's headquarters location in Auburn Hills, Michigan, its holdings, management team, board or brands. FCA US, together with parent FCA, continues to work toward the business plan presented on Investor Day in May 2014. Additionally, the Company remains proud of its joint heritage. FCA US continues to build upon the solid foundations first established by Walter P. Chrysler in 1925 as well as a rich Fiat heritage that dates from 1899. FCA US employs more than 77,000 employees worldwide, with 96 percent of its workforce based in North America.

Fiat to list on New York Stock Exchange?

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

Citing the ever-nebulous "two sources close to Fiat," Reuters is reporting that the Italian automaker and owner of the Chrysler brand is likely to list itself on the New York Stock Exchange. The move could reportedly happen as soon as 2015, marking the end, at least in the minds of investors, of Fiat's 115-year base in Turin, Italy.
The Italian government is not likely to react favorably to Fiat's potential move from Italy to the United States, despite initially positive reactions to Fiat's landmark final purchase of Chrysler, the third-largest automaker in the US. Fiat spent $3.65 billion to buy out the 41.46-percent stake in Chrysler that had been owned by the United Auto Workers' VEBA trust fund.
With little sign of a swift European recovery, Fiat has little choice but to focus on markets outside its traditional home, and a listing in New York could potentially be a boon for investors. According to International Strategy and Investment analyst George Galliers, speaking to Reuters, "People [would be] more likely to think of the entity in the same context as they do Ford and GM" if it were listed on the NYSE.
