2012 Chevy Volt. Electric. 4 Door Hatchback on 2040-cars

this is not a hybrid, it is an electric vehicle with a gasoline powered engine that turns on when the batteries run down.
you can plug it into almost any household electrical outlet to recharge the batteries ,with the included 115 volt charger, or you can buy a 230 volt charger . charges in about 10 hours with the 115 volt charger , about 4 hours with the 230 volt charger. you can also use the free public 230 volt chargers that many local governments are installing, or pay to use the ones many businesses are installing. either way, electricity is a lot cheaper then gas. I have been averaging 9 kilowatt hours to charge it. averages 30 miles on a charge. average 300 miles a week for $20.00. if you charge it outside in the cold, you get less miles on a charge. that is just a characteristic of batteries, performance goes down in the cold. in the summer, i was getting 38- 40 miles on a charge. so i would guess, if you charge it in a garage, you will also get 38-40 miles. I am selling it because it is not working out for me. I drive 50 miles one way to work ,so about half of the time i am on gas and i am not saving anything. if you only drive it 30 miles a day, the gas engine never comes on and you never buy gas. I am the second owner. (EDIT) as far as i know, i am the second owner. The auotcheck report says I am the only owner and that it was owned by several dealers, but apparently never sold. the report also does not show anything after i bought it. about 70,000 miles left on the drive batteries warranty. remote start. you can also remote start it from anywhere with ONSTAR and a cell phone. key less , push button start. manual key back up, in case the key fob dies. back up camera, parking collision avoidance alarms, bluetooth. most climate, radio and bluetooth controls are display screen and touch screen. new tires. just got serviced at the chevy dealer. nothing wrong with it. nothing broken. just normal scratches. I have a loan on it, so buyer will have to wait for lien holder to release the title. you can take the car as soon as you pay for it, but it might be a few days for the lien holder to send me the title. these cars sell for $40 -50,000.00 new, so i think it is worth the asking price. you can get one with a cheaper sticker price at a dealer, but i doubt you will drive it off the lot for that price. if you dont like the price, make me an offer. no shipping. if you are out of the area you will have to make your own shipping arrangements. I drive to Norwich area almost every afternoon, so if you live along the way, i can stop by for you to see it and test drive it. I am still driving the car, so i cant give actual mileage . as of today, 30,680. I am estimating it will be around 31,000 during this listing. please dont waste my time with payment scams, I have heard them all. |

GM threatens predatory dealers with order cancellations, non-transferrable warranties
Fri, Jul 29 2022General Motors will launch a second salvo against misbehaving dealerships next week with a new set of policies aimed at curbing predatory markup strategies. With the new Chevrolet Corvette Z06, GMC Hummer EV SUV and Cadillac Escalade-V about to head into production, GM is putting its foot down yet again. Dealers that attempt to circumvent GM's markup restrictions by dealing directly with brokers or other resellers could find themselves in a particularly nasty spot, as the company is threatening to withhold future allocations and end the transferability of warranties when dealers facilitate the reselling of vehicles within 12 months. While this may help curb some dealership chicanery, it's possible the real loser in such a deal could end up being the customer who unwittingly ends up with an un-warrantied vehicle. We suspect GM has accounted for that, but we'll have to wait until next week to find out exactly how these new policies will be enforced.
McLaren, Koenigsegg, Toyota, Ford, Dodge and Corvette Lego kits announced for 2021
Tue, May 4 2021Lego has announced a slew of car-themed sets for 2021. The six kits comprise nine vehicles and fall under the brick pusher's Speed Champion line of official OEM-licensed kits. News of their arrival comes from German toy retailer JB Spielwaren's pre-order listings, which show three single-car sets and three dual-car sets of matched marques. Starting with the McLaren Elva roadster, the kit consists of 263 pieces and is finished in blue. It seems to have a difficult time capturing the curves of the real-life Elva, but there's only so much you can do with a bunch of plastic blocks. Lego has made several other McLaren kits before, including the Senna, 720S, and a more advanced Senna GTR for the Technics line. Next up is the Koenigsegg Jesko, made up of 280 pieces and finished in white. Though the real-life Jesko is still curvy, this kit does a better job of replicating its aggressive maw, vents and cantilevered rear wing. Rounding out the single-car sets is the 299-piece Toyota GR Supra in yellow. This marks the first time Toyota has lent their license to Lego. Again, it struggles a bit to represent the curvy Supra, relying on printed details like logos and headlights to identify. On the other hand, the Chevrolet two-car does a stupendous job with the 1968 Corvette. The C3 is instantly recognizable as such. The C8-R race car it's paired with suffers from the same issues as some of the previous cars, though. The set contains 512 pieces, and funnily enough the C8 driver has short hair while the C3 driver sports a period-correct wavy mane. The next set is a 627-piece Mopar-themed pair, including a purple (Plum Crazy?) 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A and an SRT top fuel dragster. The race car is spot on, but the Challenger was probably tough to make given the width restrictions. It looks a couple of pegs too narrow compared to the wide proportions of the real deal. Last but not least, the Ford set contains a Bronco R and Ford GT Heritage Edition. Consisting of 660 pieces, the set does an excellent job of representing both cars. The GT looks faithful in its Gulf livery, and the Bronco R looks more like a real Bronco than the actual Bronco R race truck. All in all, it's always fun to see more Lego sets with real cars, and we're glad to see more manufacturers added to the roster. The single-car sets are recommended for ages 7 and up, while the double-car sets have an 8 years and up rating. Price in U.S.
National Corvette Museum to recreate sinkhole experience for patrons [UPDATE]
Sun, May 10 2015UPDATE: The Thunderdome at the National Corvette Museum is not a ride; instead it's an experience that mixes digital graphics and thundering sound. For a brief period, it looked like the National Corvette Museum was going to preserve that sinkhole that ate eight important 'Vettes last year. After all, tourism boomed there afterwards. However, keeping the crater would have been more expensive than just doing the repairs. The museum isn't ready to let people completely forget, though, and now intends to make a major attraction out of a recreated version of the calamity. The museum's plan turns the sinkhole disaster into an amusement park ride called the Thunderdome, according to GM Authority. In a smaller recreation of the Skydome, 15 people at a time would get to watch an imitation of the sinkhole devouring the eight Corvettes. To make the experience even more immersive, visitors would get to view this all from an artificial, underground cave. If you missed seeing the actual pit, this would certainly be a bizarre way to experience it. According to GM Authority, the exhibit would also include an explanation of how sinkholes occur. The Corvette museum reportedly wants the attraction open by this fall.
