2005 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 LT 4WD in good condition. Truck has been maintained perfectly with all records to show. Has new BF Goodrich AT Tires less than 6K on them, new starter, iPod interface, navigation system, and new knock sensors installed. The interior leather has not tears and the interior is in very good shape. It has Husky liner floor mats throughout , all rows and rear cargo area. There are small marks on the carpet and rear cargo area from use and on the driver door panel at the door pull from use. The exterior is 8 out of 10 in good condition. There are small rock nicks in places on the front and small scratches as expected on a nine year old vehicle but all have been touched up with touchup paint. Overall the truck has been well taken care of and has no mechanical issues. The oil has been changed every 3000 miles almost to the mile with Mobil 5000 5-w30 and a Lucus oil treatment every time. The truck uses no oil and has not leaks. It pulls trailers, boat etc. very well. We use it every summer to pull our boat. I do not think anyone will be disappointed with this vehicle. GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
