Up for bid is a 2004 Chevy Suburban Z71 4x4. It has had only 2 previous Owners and as per Carfax has not ben in any accidents. It has 152,911 miles on it. Mechanically the vehicle is very sound and appears to have been well maintained. The motor (5.3 L V8 Vortec) is very strong and smooth as is the transmission. The previous Owner said he changed the oil religiously every 3- 4000 miles. The 4wd is in good working order in 4wd hi and 4wd Lo. The suspension appears tight, smooth and nimble, no clunks or prevalent noises when going over bumps etc... This S.U.V is very well equipped with, leather trim, heated and power front seats, power wins, locks & heated mirrors, tilt wheel, cruise control, Bose audio system with cassette and CD, Auto dim rr view mirror, keyless entry, roof rack, privacy glass, alloy wheels, tow pkg and more... MSRP when new was $46,425. Copy of window sticker included. Current faults with vehicle. Airbag light on on dash. Strange because it hasn't been in an accident. Previous Owner brought to Chevy dealer and was told airbag light coming on intermittently  in Suburbans not uncommon and quoted $200 - $600 to resolve light. The check engine light was on we diagnosed it and cleared the one code that showed up it was p0442 Evap  emission control system leak (small). As per our mechanic normally less than $200 to repair/ replace. Neither front windows currently go up or down, probably just a fuse or switch. The air cond is cool not cold, could just need a frion charge. There is a 6 inch tear on drivers seat seam and front tires have aprox 35% tread life left where as rears have aprox 80% tread life left. And lastly paint on hood appears duller than rest of vehicle. We waxed it, yet still kinda flat. Other than that this is a well taken care of vehicle that is a real pleasure to drive and has a lot of versatility, towing, 4wd, 8 passenger, huge cargo area etc... Exterior hardly has a scratch or ding on it. interior pretty nice shape as well, there are some stains on carpets for example yet nothing a good scrubbing cant conquer.

NADA retail value for this vehicle is $11,175. There is no reserve!!!! I will answer any ?'s I can. Clean title, being sold as is no warranties implied or represented.

Leno drives Ringbrothers' latest, 1966 Chevy Chevelle Recoil

Tue, Mar 3 2015

Jay Leno has been checking out quite a few older rides in his garage as of late, but has mixed things up a little this week. Ringbrothers took home an award at the 2014 SEMA Show for the 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle it named Recoil, and now the car has proven it can do more than just look good on Jay Leno's Garage. While the latest guest might look vintage, underneath those classic lines is a thoroughly modern muscle car sporting a claimed 980 horsepower. The heart of this beast is a supercharged LS7 V8 from Wegner Motorsports and a six-speed Tremec manual gearbox. Even with so much power, it can still run on 91-octane pump gas, and when Jay gets on the throttle the result is a wall of sound from the wailing supercharger. Despite the muscle, the Recoil doesn't really scream about its performance aesthetically. The color is a surprisingly plain beige, but the carbon fiber touches and side exhaust certainly indicate that there's something special here. The owner's sole request for the car was to include metal seats, and Ringbrothers provided them with a few bits of leather offering a touch of comfort. After checking the Recoil out from stem to stern, Leno finally gets behind the wheel and treats our ears to pull after pull from that big, supercharged V8.

There are still 6,000 first-gen Chevy Volts on dealer lots

Sun, May 24 2015

The next-gen 2016 Chevrolet Volt looks to be a pretty fantastic vehicle with more electric driving range, better fuel economy than its predecessor, and a lower starting price. However, if you're looking for a deal, the 2015 model of the plug-in hybrid might not be a bad place to check because Chevy has a ton of them to get rid of. According to The Detroit Free Press, there are around 6,000 examples of the 2015 Volts that are still sitting on dealer lots. That might not sound like a lot, but Chevy only sold 905 of them in April and 2,779 through that month in 2015. It moved 18,805 of the PHEVs for all of 2014. Buyers are in a pretty good spot to haggle at the moment, too, with the a new Volt right around the corner. According to The Detroit Free Press based on TrueCar figures, the current average closing price for a 2015 model is $30,607 before any federal or state tax credits. You can also lease one for 39 months for $299 a month and $1,649 due at signing. In April, Chevy was reportedly offering customers 2.9-percent financing for 48 months and leases with no money down for buyers trading in a vehicle from a competitor. Of course, there's also always the option to buy a pre-owned example. Just a few months ago, prices for used Volts were reportedly as low as $13,000 at auction.

Chevrolet donates 300 vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Super Storm Sandy took out a lot of automobiles in its path of destruction through the Northeast last October. The number surpassed 250,000 at last count, and a few of those were owned by Chevrolet - cars either sitting on dealership lots or waiting at port to be shipped off. Rendered unsellable by the water damage inflicted by Sandy, these vehicles were facing the crusher. But Chevy didn't send them there.
Instead, Chevy had a better idea: It will be donating 300 of these vehicles damaged by Sandy to help train first responders at Guardian Centers in Perry, GA. Chevy is the official automotive partner of Guardian Centers, which is an 830-acre facility that trains first responders in disaster preparedness. Junked cars are practically a consumable commodity there, where a full-size cityscape simulator gives trainees an entire urban center in which to train for all sorts of rescue operations and disaster scenarios.
Chevy says its particular vehicles will be used "in conjunction with role players for wide area searches, traffic congestion in emergency situations, counter terrorism, public order and mass casualty exercises." While grim scenarios all, we're certainly glad there are people out there preparing for the unexpected. While a zombie apocalypse isn't officially on the list of potential disasters to prepare for, when the virus hits, we'll be hot-footing it to Perry, GA to hang with these guys and gals.
