2004 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Ls Crew Cab Pickup 4-door 6.6l No Reserve on 2040-cars
Troy, New York, United States
2004 Chevrolet 3500, 4x4, 4 door, 8ft box, Fisher MM Plow, Ladder Rack. Exterior - Overall the trucks frame and cab is pretty much rust free, there are a couple of paint chip spots with small signs of rust on hood fenders etc but none on rockers or cab corners. As you can see in the pics the bad part about the exterior is both rear quarter panels are damaged which is common with these composite bed skins, no frame damage just during the cold these panels get brittle and doesnt take much to crack them!!. I have done research in past and you can buy these bed replacement panels for about $500/ side and they bolt on. Interior - Basic interior, crank windows, pleather seats and plastic floors. Overall I would rate the interior as poor.. I have used this truck for construction it has the typical tears on the front two seats, rear seats have no tears but need extensive cleaning do to tools and materials being placed on them etc. Seat covers would be the solution! Mechanical. - As you can see this truck has been driven.. I purchase the truck with 252Kmi from what I was told it was a supervisors fleet truck for a construction company in New England. When I purchased it showed little sings of wear and made sense that most of the mileage was Highway commuting. At 263KMi the shop thought I blew a rod so had engine replaced with a junk yard with 92KMI on it so as of now the engine has approx. 180kmi on it after the fact I think it was just and injector!! Anyways I have the original long block engine that will go with the truck and I have 5 injector cores that will go with the truck also. I have serviced the Allison trans 2 times over the last 100kmi with Transend. 4x4 works just fine, rear drive shaft u joints have been replaced, most of front end has been replaced, ball joints, ends bearings etc. Now for the bad..... The engine lost power over 2 years ago - Had the injectors replaced and didn't fix it, have been driving it as is ever since prob about 25kmi that way - I am no diesel tech but by researching online I think its the CP3 which I have a used one on the original engine but never took the time to do the swap. Doesn't smoke. The gas gauge don't work, oil pressure gauge don't work (since engine swap), changed cab heater transitor and blower and still don't work (temp wired with cig. lighter!), needs 3 tires on back and needs new rear brakes (frnt brakes are good). Bottomline, this trucks needs some TLC but it has many working years left to it, it still gets 14mpg in the city. If you have some mechanical ability you can have the benefits of a $60k truck for a fraction of the price. NO Reserve |

2016 Lamborghini Huracan at the Horse Thief Mile | AutoblogVR
Tue, Sep 13 2016AutoblogVR returns to the Horse Thief Mile in the Mojave Desert to put the Lamborghini Huracan to the test. It's everything we want a modern supercar to be: Powerful, striking in appearance, and a riot to drive. But does it live up to Lamborghini's unique performance heritage? Senior Editor Greg Migliore reviews the Huracan on Horse Thief's unyielding curves and elevation changes to find out. Meanwhile, Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin reviews a different kind of performance car – the Chevy SS at the IndyCar circuit on Detroit's Belle Isle. He's ably assisted by ace driver Simon Pagenaud. You must watch his hot lap! The SS is old-school V8 American muscle wrapped in Australian design and engineering. This AutoblogVR segment also launches on the app Sept. 13, and the teaser follows the Huracan preview above. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!
Fernando Alonso just misses qualifying for Indy 500 on first day
Sun, May 19 2019Former Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will need a clutch run on Sunday to qualify for the Indianapolis 500 on May 26 after he failed to seal a guaranteed spot on Saturday. The Spaniard tried fives times to put his McLaren Racing Chevrolet in the top 30, but wound up one spot short. He can make the 33-car field only through a six-car shootout on Sunday that will determine the race's final three drivers. "We have another chance to be in the race," Alonso, who is seeking to make his second Indy 500 field, told IndyCar TV. The Spaniard twice got inside the top 30 but both times was bumped outside the mark, with JR Hildebrand and Graham Rahal the final two drivers to seal qualifying spots. Britain's Pippa Mann will be the only woman in the race, qualifying 30th in 227.244 mph. Race positions 10-30 were determined during the day-long qualifying with Saturday's nine fastest drivers set to return on Sunday to decide pole. Spencer Pigot, driving the Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet, led qualifying with a four-lap average of 230.083 mph. He was followed by 2018 winner Will Power of Australia (230.081) and Simon Pagenaud of France (229.854). The troubles for Alonso, whose top four-lap average was 227.224 mph, were exacerbated by a punctured tire in his first qualifying run. "That didn't help," Alonso told reporters. "But, obviously, our performance has been quite bad all week. Quite poor." The Spaniard crashed his Chevrolet in practice on Wednesday and missed nearly two full days of practice while a backup car was prepared. He returned on Friday. Alonso said he was worried the McLaren team was "not ready for the challenge." "We've been slow. You see Juncos Racing crashing yesterday and being ready at 6 o'clock. That's impressive," he said. "For us, we've been a little bit slow on everything." Alonso is bidding to join Graham Hill as the only drivers to achieve the 'Triple Crown of Motorsport' with an Indy 500 victory. He previously won the Monaco Grand Prix and Le Mans 24 Hours race. He also won two Formula One drivers' titles. First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
