2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD
AKA IDENTITY CRISIS!!

Well the name says it all, here is the DuraBurb shop truck that has continued to turn heads

This pick up started life as a humble Duramax 4x4 LT, after finding itself in an unfortunate situation  that caused it to be deemed "totaled" by its insurer, it found it's way into our possession here at DuraBurb, its drivetrain was released to a 23,000mi 2010 Yukon XL 2500, please see pics.

When the transformation of the Yukon XL was complete we couldn't help but think "how cool would it be"?
So we started assembly and retooling to create what you see here before you, a one of a kind, very unique Silverado, (well of sorts)

WHO IS DURABURB?
Take a moment to "Google" us please! Check us out on YouTube!
As you can see from our many videos we here at DuraBurb are the Artisans of the authentic Duramax SUV, no less should be expected from "Reverse Conversions" going back to gasoline. You can see from the shop picture we are very busy and do this type of work day in day out, at a rate of almost 50 Duramax SUV's per year making DuraBurb the world leader in Duramax GM SUV's.

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
So in a nutshell this is a 2009 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 that has the drivetrain of a  2010 2500 Yukon XL
It sports a stock (emission compliant) 6.0L 325hp V8, its factory equipped 6L90E transmission, the standard HD XHD transfer case and the factory 11.5"  XHD Rear Differential.
The Cab and Bed are from a 2007 Silverado that had front clip damage (a prior Diesel truck for a different Duramax Suburban)
The Interior is all from a 2009 LTZ Silverado (also a prior Diesel truck for yet a different Duramax SUV)
The Front Clip is from a 2009 2500 Suburban we converted to a Silverado HD front clip (post Duramax conversion)
Built from a few different trucks, we get this Silverado with a very unique look, but please note that some aspects of this LT Silverado that are not compliant to the interior like the heated seats or the trailer brake, however the common functions to a LT such the cruise control / ice cold A/C / XM Radio / Remote Start & Entry / all power functions are fully functional.

It has a Rough Country 6" lift, 20X12 New Vision wheels and 40X15.5 Nito Tires

GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?

Fri, Jul 21 2017

General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.

Stolen '57 Chevy Returned To Owner After 30 Years

Fri, Feb 21 2014

Three decades after it was stolen, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air has been returned to a Northern California man - in better shape than when he originally owned it. The Santa Rosa Press Democrat reports Ian "Skip" Wilson was shocked to get a call from the California Highway Patrol informing him that his long-lost Chevy was taken off an Australia-bound cargo ship. The 65-year-old says the car has had a lot of work done on it since it disappeared from his Lake County home in 1984. It was returned with a monogrammed interior, 17-inch racing wheels, rack-and-pinion steering and a 350-horsepower V-8 engine. The retired mechanic says the two-door was in sorry shape when he bought it for $375 in 1975 with plans for fixing it up.
