We are a Ford dealer in Missouri who took this absolutely gorgeous 1987 Chevy Silverado 4x4 in on trade. This truck is beautiful! It has one of the better paint and body jobs I have seen in awhile. The odometer and carfax are showing 28,115 miles on it. The old owner believes this to be 128,115. He stated he put a 350 crate with throttle body injection in the truck at 100,000 miles. He did not have the paperwork to support this, so I cannot confirm this statement. The motor does look very good and clean, and runs excellent. The truck suprisingly drives very good. It is smoother than I would have imagined, and steers effortlessly. The transmission shifts very well and axle code reads 3.08 gears. Everything on this truck functions well. It passed a Missouri State Inspection. The 4 wheel drive works well. The air conditioner will freeze you out-it is COLD. Turn Signals, headlights, cruise, heater, stereo all work well. Ball Joints, suspension all checked good and the truck is tight. The wheels and tires were very new and according to previous owner, have less than 2000 miles on them. The carfax shows no wrecks and the title is clean. The body and paint are excellent! The last owner bought it this way. The bed is in good shape, no rust, with a bed mat and diamond tuck plating. The dash and interior are in excellent shape with not tears or holes. This is an absolute CLEAN CLEAN truck! The only negatives I can see are 1) the dash pad has risen slightly in the center of the dash. Easy repair. 2) Slight surface bubbling on the right front fender toward the rear of the fender by the door. Tried to take a picture of them but camera does not show it at all. They are very small bubbles that cover less area than a dollar bill folded in 2. You have to really look to see it. The truck has the original owners manual in it as well. This is definitely a beautiful truck! We will sell this truck with no reserve. Please do not call and ask what it will take to buy the truck, that is why I am auctioning it off! Please just bid what you are willing to pay. This truck is being sold 'as is' where is'. The truck is being sold with no warranty implied or otherwise. You will have to pick the truck up or make arrangements to have it shipped. Due to our lender stipulations, we cannot finance this vehicle because of it's age. You will have to have your finances in order. Feel free to call me if you have any additional questions about this truck. I will answer what I can, but this truck was traded in, and the old owner didnt want to be bothered with these details, or he would have sold it himself. His words not mine! Good luck and Thanks! Kevin

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part one
Sat, Jun 18 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice with a profanity-laden stream-of-consciousness writing style. Parker lives in Hawaii and spends far more time spearfishing than behind the wheel of a car. Jump ahead to Part Two here, and Part Three here. Big Money and billionaire hobbyists and rockets on wheels. Jets belching French color smoke overhead. Balance of power fuckery. Plenty of water on the ground this morning. Absurdly expensive motorcars lined up in the pissing rain. Fast twitch lunatics behind the wheel. Chomping at the bit. Let's go let's go let's go! Race hasn't even started, Ford #67 maybe dealing with clutch issues. Karma? That beautiful bastard Brad Pitt's out on the track, waving the tricolor flag. It's a standing start in "Noah's Ark" weather and the 2016 24 hours of Le Mans is go! First lap takes place behind the safety car, finished in a record setting 8 minutes 27 seconds. Wrong kind of record maybe, but this is the first time I've set my mind to watching the whole damn race. Feel like I'm part of history. 3:00 AM on Kauai, a little too early for life. Sucking down coffee like a maniac. Don't fall back asleep. Got my hands on four hours of rest, how much more can I need? Better be enough for the next twenty four hours. Gonna get kinda punchy toward the end. Jason Statham on the scene. Four feet of solid muscle, non-existent hairline. Lovely wife peanut gallery sitting next to me calls him the "best race car drive in the world." Not sure if she's serious. Toss up, could go either way. Statham's a funny guy. Heir to the Bruce Willis comedy action crown. Really good in the movie where the fat comedy lady plays a spy. Ford's on the road. Problems with gearbox pressure, apparently. Nearing a half hour in and the safety car is still on the track. Hellish amounts of water on the ground, in the air. Visibility is garbage. Getting better. Twitter wags, "Not with a bang but a whimper." Just building suspense. Mother Nature felt like killing some people today, race officials need to dial back the drivers until it dries a tad. Normal inclination would've seen 'em flying, guaranteed early lap wrecks. Sad news for that bloodthirsty part of my lizard brain I try and keep suppressed. Good news for humanity. #12 in the pit for a bit.
Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle
Sun, Aug 21 2022The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
