2002 Chevrolet S10 Extended Cab Ls 4.3l V6 on 2040-cars

2002 Chevy S-10 Extended Cab with 3rd Door and Jump Seat
(Much of the mileage is highway miles from several long distance trips) 4.3L V6 Automatic Transmission 2 WD LS Package Power Steering Tilt Wheel Cruise Control Power Doors and Windows Alloy Wheels Bedliner AM/FM Radio w/CD Player 4 New Tires 215/70R15 New Battery Original Carpeted floor mats (like new) and extra set of rubber floor mats included Note: the bug shield was already partially broken, and got a little more broken in the car wash. When you buy the truck you can either remove it or replace it... :) This is an older vehicle, and it is in pretty good condition, but not excellent: I have a clean Texas Title, but it is registered and inspected in Louisiana. There are a few items that need to be repaired: The passenger window doesn't go up or down - I don't know if it's a switch or the window motor. Occasionally the drivers window will intermittently stick, but a couple minutes later will go up. The Power Mirror switch currently doesn't work. The Heater \ Defroster Control doesn't switch to the correct vents, but this should be able to be fixed. Needs new bushings on the upper control arms. The ABS light comes on occasionally, and I think it may be an intermittent break in one of the sensor wires, but I have not had it checked, and the breaks work fine. There are some coffee stains in the center carpet, but the interior is in pretty good shape It has the cloth bucket seats with the center console and cup holders. It has 2 power outlets along with the cigarette lighter in the ash tray - ( it has been a NON-Smoking vehicle since I owned it.) Runs pretty good, but sometimes has a little rough idle occasionally. Drives good around town and on the highway. A few of the plastic lug nut covers are missing. One year as I was driving back from Colorado, I hit a snow bank, and there is a very slight dent behind the right rear tire that could probably be popped out pretty easily by a body shop mechanic. In "GOOD" condition this truck with all of it's options has a KBB value of around 5K I think all of the minor issues could be repaired for less than 1K I reserve the right to end the auction early since I have the truck for sale locally and I have had interest in it. |

Nissan Leaf is now the best-selling plug-in vehicle of all time in US
Thu, Apr 2 2015Numbers don't lie. And in some instances, you can see their truth from miles away. As everyone expected, the Nissan Leaf is now officially the best-selling plug-in vehicle in the US. While the two vehicles aren't direct competitors (one's a pure EV and the other is a plug-in hybrid), they certainly dominate the plug-in vehicle sales charts. When we do a little math on those charts, we see that since the two vehicles went on sale at the end of 2010, the Volt has sold 75,231 units while the Leaf is now at 76,407, giving the Leaf a 1,176-vehicle lead. The Leaf trailed the Volt by just two units at the end of February. This is the first time the EV had held the overall lead since the end of February 2012, when it was ahead 10,847 to 9,623 and for a while there at the end of 2013, the Volt was up by around 12,000 units. Times have changed, though, and we don't expect the lead to switch back until the next-gen Volt goes on sale later this year, and even then nothing is certain. The Leaf sold 1,817 copies last month, a drop of 27.5 percent from last year. Year-to-date, the Leaf has sold 4,085 units, down 21.2 percent from the same time period in 2014. There were 639 Volts sold last month, a 56.8-percent sales decrease compared to March 2014. So far this year, Volt sales are down 48 percent. Green Chevrolet Nissan ev sales hybrid sales
Weekly Recap: GM plans massive new paint shop at Chevy Corvette factory
Sat, May 23 2015General Motors is laying out some serious green to maintain the Chevy Corvette's expansive color palette. The automaker is breaking ground on a new paint shop this summer that's part of a $439-million investment to upgrade the 34-year-old Bowling Green, KY, factory that builds the Stingray. The massive new structure will total 450,000 square feet, nearly half the size of the current 1-million square-foot facility. Construction is expected to take two years and won't impact Corvette production. The upgrades include new robots that save paint and create a better finish, longer, more efficient ovens to bake in the finish, and LED lighting. There's also a dry scrubbing booth technology with a limestone handling system that eliminates waste. GM has invested $135 million in the factory in last four years for the changeover to build the C7 and to relocate its Performance Build Center to Bowling Green. The improvements continue to modernize the Kentucky factory, which has become a tourist attraction in its own right, as more than 56,000 enthusiasts visited it last year. The upgrades are part of a $5.4-billion investment GM confirmed in April that will remake its US footprint in the next three years. The Bowling Green expansion underscores GM's continued commitment to the Corvette, which sold nearly 38,000 copies around the world last year, an eight-year high. "With this major technology investment, we can continue to exceed the expectations of sports car buyers for years to come," North American manufacturing manager Arvin Jones said in a statement. OTHER NEWS & NOTES Takata recall hits 34 million vehicles The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration expanded the Takata airbag recall to an almost unthinkable 34 million vehicles on Tuesday. The recall is part of an agreement reached by the two sides where Takata admitted some of its airbag inflators have a defect, and the deal compels the company to comply with all future regulatory actions and investigations. Takata's airbag inflators were produced with "a propellant that can degrade over time" and lead to ruptures, NHTSA said. Six deaths have been attributed to the flaw worldwide. Investigations conducted by Takata, automakers, and others have not determined the exact cause of the inflator problem, but NHTSA said moisture appears to alter the propellant's chemical structure. It then ignites too rapidly, creates too much pressure that ruptures the inflator, and blasts shards of metal at passengers.
Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain
Sat, Aug 9 2014Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S.
