You are bidding on a Pro-Touring Monster, a gorgeous one-of-a-kind 1998 S10 Extended Cab Stepside LS Trim equipped with an all aluminum LS1 out of a 2002 Corvette. Engine was completely rebuilt 20k miles ago and runs off 93 pump gas it has a 2001 z06 cam, ceramic headers, rebuilt heads with mild port work, weiand aluminum intake ported to heads, cold air intake, meziere electric water pump, and a street tune and puts out 405 Horse. Transmission was rebuilt 15k miles ago and is a 4L65E with 2400 stall, billet servo, raybestos clutches, b&m shift kit, etc. rated to 600 HP revs about 2200 rpm at 70 mph. Rear is a ZR2 blazer with Richmond 3:42 Gears, all new heavy duty seals, hardened axles, eaton posi, aftermarket front and rear sway bars, racing coil springs, DJM suspension mods, factory interior in nice overall original shape with some minor wear but nothing serious ashtray broke but I bought a new one just needs to be installed, it has all autometer carbon fiber ultralite gauges that all work. Truck has all the creature comforts P/S, Vintage A/C Ice Cold, Cd Player, 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes with all New Ceramic Brakes and brake parts in the rear, blinkers, high beams and low beams, wipers, etc. New Flex-A-Lite Fans never gets over 180 even in Orlando traffic for 3 hours with the A/C on, and most of the time it stays at 160. It was painted about 7 years ago and it looks great has minor wear but nothing serious the only spots on the truck are in the front bumper it has a small dent (pictured) and the front splash pan has a small crack (also pictured), the mirrors are aftermarket and are missing the inserts on the front side but it doesn’t affect them. Has ARE bed cover on it with bed rug inside excuse the extra belt and spare are included but the rest of the stuff is not just used for when I was driving it around. I have over 45,000 invested into this s10 with all the paperwork included and receipts and I have a clear Florida title in my name. The build has 63,000 miles on it and every bug has been worked out I personally drove this truck for 2 years in Orlando and it will eat just about anything including Corvettes and still gets 28 mpg no problem with ice cold A/C, it doesn’t hesitate, smoke, make any funny sounds, and starts right up and idles perfectly I just changed the oil about 1500 miles ago and only Mobil 1 with K&N oil filters are used, I just installed a new 600.00 alternator, all new o2 sensors, new wires, new plugs, new belts, new bushings, new belt tensioner, new idler pulley, and all new wiring for the engine harness. It has 15 inch Torque Thrust wheels with Cooper Cobra Tires with new tires in the rear and the fronts have about 10,000 miles on them.  It has brand new Mandrel bent exhaust 2 1/2 that was all custom ran and it gives it a nice low rumble at idle to hide the LS1 but when you hit the gas everyone knows, there is no drone at all for highway cruising and it is very quiet when you want it to be. There is so much more done to this truck it was built right no backyard mechanic all professionally done and it is the ultimate sleeper and daily driver you will not be disappointed give Frank a call at 863-381-3499 and I will go into more details, as always truck is sold AS-IS with no warranties expressed or implied, inspections welcome and encouraged you will be surprised how nice it is I get compliments all the time. Fly in and drive it home with a smile on your face the whole way!   photo DSC01764_zpscca8e9c1.jpg photo DSC01765_zps79b803ed.jpg photo DSC01766_zpsc0e614de.jpg photo DSC01767_zps06318209.jpg photo DSC01768_zps81db609e.jpg photo DSC01769_zpsecfb2ac9.jpg photo DSC01770_zps4249e469.jpg photo DSC01771_zps72e00b34.jpg photo DSC01772_zps3e1efded.jpg photo DSC01773_zps6d4ab254.jpg photo DSC01774_zps967f356b.jpg photo DSC01775_zpsc92e63d5.jpg photo DSC01776_zpsf4736373.jpg photo DSC01777_zps1e6c9e60.jpg photo DSC01778_zpsc1bc4564.jpg photo DSC01779_zpsd4e947de.jpg photo DSC01780_zps7f42d536.jpg photo DSC01781_zpsb37462de.jpg photo DSC01782_zps3c3c5bce.jpg photo DSC01783_zps0b5c4531.jpg photo DSC01784_zpsf012301c.jpg photo DSC01785_zpsb23ab04e.jpg photo DSC01786_zpsa96acff7.jpg photo DSC01787_zpsf4cd4981.jpg photo DSC01788_zps69c8206a.jpg photo DSC01789_zpsbe1966c7.jpg photo DSC01790_zpsad2ecd1e.jpg photo DSC01791_zpsd2719fa6.jpg photo DSC01792_zps149cb10e.jpg photo DSC01793_zpsa3e81e38.jpg photo DSC01794_zpsfb66768f.jpg photo DSC01795_zpsf4583d3d.jpg photo DSC01796_zpsba33b53f.jpg photo DSC01797_zpsceb7cf76.jpg photo DSC01798_zps9ef76716.jpg photo DSC01799_zps2c85a6ac.jpg photo DSC01800_zpsc1eeb4e4.jpg photo DSC01801_zps5bccc810.jpg photo DSC01788_zps69c8206a.jpg

GM announces 3 new recalls affecting 1.7M vehicles in North America [w/video]

Mon, Mar 17 2014

Still embroiled in the ongoing ignition switch recall, General Motors announced today three more discrete recalls, affecting a grand total of 1,546,900 vehicles in the US. The Detroit News reports that some 1.7 million vehicles are affected overall in North America. The first and largest of the trio of new recalls concerns some 1.18-million Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers from the 2008-2013 model years, Chevrolet Traverse from 2009-2013 (pictured above) and Saturn Outlook vehicles from 2008-2010. All of the crossover utilities may have an issue with the wiring harness for their seat-mounted side airbags. Apparently, the vehicles are equipped with a Service Air Bag warning light that, if ignored, "will eventually result in the non-deployment of the side impact restraints." Those restraints include the side airbags, a front-center airbag if the vehicle is so equipped and seatbelt pretensioners. Dealers of affected vehicles will be instructed to remove driver and passenger side airbag wiring harness connectors, and then "splice and solder the wires together." The second recall affects 303,000 Chevrolet Express (pictured right) and GMC Savana vans from model years 2009-2014, and with gross vehicle weights under 10,000 pounds. Said vehicles do not comply with a head impact requirement for unrestrained occupants, and will need a reworking of the instrument panel material to be sent back on the road. It doesn't sound as though there's a quick fix for this one, as the GM press release states: "Unsold vehicles have been placed on a stop delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available." Finally, the third recall affects 63,900 Cadillac XTS luxury sedans from model years 2013 and 2014. A brake booster pump may be susceptible to corrosion by way of the relay, potentially causing and electrical short, overheating, melting of plastic components and even engine fires. GM says it is aware of two engine fires in unsold XTS models and two cases of melted parts. Repairs for the issues affecting the XTS have not not mentioned by GM in the release. The Detroit News is also reporting that along with news of the triple-recall, GM is taking a $300-million credit to help pay for the repair costs, and to deal with the ongoing costs associated with the ignition switch recall. In an attempt to explain just what GM has been doing in the face of these very serious issues, newly minted CEO Mary Barra has addressed the issues in a new video.

2020 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra recalled due to faulty brake component

Wed, Mar 11 2020

General Motors is recalling 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups to fix a defect in the trucks' brake system. Certain Silverado and Sierra pickups were produced with brake-caliper bolts that were not heat-treated. Without heat-treating, the bolts are weaker than they should be, and there is a risk that they could fail, which would affect the trucks' braking performance, possibly leading to a crash. In total, 20,352 vehicles are affected. Owners of affected trucks will be contacted by GM. Dealers will inspect the bolts and replace those that are defective. Related Video:

The UAW's 'record contract' hinges on pensions, battery plants

Thu, Oct 12 2023

DETROIT - After nearly four weeks of disruptive strikes and hard bargaining, the United Auto Workers and the Detroit Three automakers have edged closer to a deal that could offer record-setting wage gains for nearly 150,000 U.S. workers. General Motors, Ford Motor and Chrysler parent Stellantis have all agreed to raise base wages by between 20% and 23% over a four-year deal, according to union and company statements. Ford and Stellantis have agreed to reinstate cost-of-living adjustments, or COLA. The companies have offered to boost pay for temporary workers and give them a faster path to full-time, full-wage status. All three have proposed slashing the time it takes a new hire to get to the top UAW pay rate. The progress in contract talks follows the first-ever simultaneous strike by the UAW against Detroit's Big Three automakers. The union began the strike on Sept. 15 in hopes of forcing a better deal from each major automaker. But coming close to a deal is not the same thing as reaching a deal. Big obstacles remain on at least two major UAW demands: restoring the retirement security provided by pre-2007 defined benefit pension plans, and covering present and future joint- venture electric vehicle battery plants under the union's master contracts with the automakers. On retirement, none of the automakers has agreed to restore pre-2007 defined-benefit pension plans for workers hired after 2007. Doing so could force the automakers to again burden their balance sheets with multibillion-dollar liabilities. GM and the former Chrysler unloaded most of those liabilities in their 2009 bankruptcies. The union and automakers have explored an approach to providing more income security by offering annuities as an investment option in their company-sponsored 401(k) savings plans, people familiar with the discussions said. Stellantis referred to an annuity option as part of a more generous 401(k) proposal on Sept. 22. Annuities or similar instruments could give UAW retirees assurance of fixed, predictable payouts less dependent on stock market ups and downs, experts said. Recent changes in federal law have removed obstacles to including annuities as a feature of corporate 401(k) plans, said Olivia Mitchell, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School and an expert on pensions and retirement. "Retirees want a way to be assured they won't run out of money," Mitchell said.
