Up for auction is a 1959 Apache 3100 1/2 ton pick up. This truck is not a trailer queen (show truck) I didnt build it to be a show truck, but a truck that I can drive everyday. But it would not take much to turn this truck into a show truck. This truck had a frame off restoration. The frame was cleaned and coated with P.O.R.15 chassis paint and top coated with semi gloss black. The cab was sand blasted and the floor was also coated with P.O.R.15 inside the cab and under the cab. The cab corners were replaced and the cab was mounted to the frame with new hardware. The fenders where also blasted and epoxied primed before the paint was applied. The bed has custom made cyprus wood boards installed with stainless steel bed rails and hardware. The bed chains are new and are stainless steel The hood has new hinges and springs The paint on the truck is a a single stage Firethorn red metallic flake. The paint is not perfect but still looks nice. All the glass in the truck is good, but there is a spot on the corner of the windshield where a piece of gravel came up and popped it. The spot can be fixed but I haven't carried it to the glass shop yet. The front grille, headlight bezels, mirrors and bumpers are chrome and are brand new. The tail light housings are stainless steel and are new also along with thier brackets. The wiring harness is a new easy wire 22 circuit harness that i installed. everything works in the truck headlights, tail lights, blinkers, hazards, horn, etc. the windshield wipers have been converted into electric and are 2 speed wipers. The Good Year tires are brand new on the truck. The truck has a newly rebuilt 327 in it with a new Holley 650 carb with electric choke. I put a Contender intake on the engine and a mild street and strip cam in it. The transmission is a 700r4 automatic with overdrive and with a console shifter. The radiator is a new 3 row aluminum radiator with a custom built fan shroud. I put a serpentine belt system on the engine. Inside the cab you have tilt steering with a Grant custom 15" steering wheel and a set of black leather seats. The driver seat is power the passenger seat is not. The instrument panel is a custom insert to hold the gauges, And the console was custom built for the truck. The gauges are all Autometer guages and all work great. The sunvisors and rear view mirror are new as is the glove box. The door handles and window handles are original to the truck. The headliner has been replaced and new carpet with jute padding installed, The doors open and close correctly, and the windows roll up and down correctly. window seals are new and the hood to cowl seal, and rubber hood and door bumpers are new. The door seals have not been put in place yet. I have the door seals and 3M seal adhesive just haven't installed them yet. I have some pictures of the truck while being restored posted so you can get a idea of what went into the truck. The front of the original chasis has grafted onto it a front clip from a 78 Camaro. All the parts are new including the disc brakes and brake lines. The rear end is a posi traction and came off a 1979 Trans Am and the drum brakes and lines are new on it also. The gas tank was moved to the rear of the truck frame and is a new 16 gallon tank all fuel lines are new. The truck has dual Flow master exhaust that come out under the bed steps There is no heat or A/C in this truck, although the heater connections are there. and there is a working a/C compressor on the engine The truck has power steering and power brakes This is a great running truck with the rare 327 engine. A nice truck at a fair price that you can jump into and drive any where. I'am not a dealer, I just like restoring old trucks and getting them back on the road If you have any questions or need more pictures you can email me or call 256-689-6401 My wife made a video of the truck running and driving (sorry about the back ground noise was windy when the video was made)) click on the link to see the video https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=18808559549ca91d&id=18808559549CA91D%213913&v=3&sff=1 I had some questions concerning the video of the truck. In the part of the video where I open and close the passenger door. I show how the door closes smoothly and I push and pull the door to show that the door closes tightly. Both the drivers door and passengers door operate smoothly and close firmly. In the part of the video where I show the engine running. I let the truck idle in park for a while then I get into the truck and put it nto drive and let it idle for a bit in drive. You can hear this in the video when the engine idles down when shifted into drive. And then idles back up again when put back into drive. A deposit of $500.00 dollars is required through Paypal within 24 hours of end of auction unless other arrangements have been made with me. The rest of the payment is due within 3 days unless other arrangements have been made with me and payment can be sent over night in cashiers check or wire transfer to my bank. Or you can come pick up the truck if you like. Thanks but I'am not interested in trades Sorry, but I'am not a buy here pay here lot. I can not do financing Buyer is responsible for shipping of the truck I can keep the truck stored here for a while until your shipper picks the truck up or you come and get it. In Alabama a vehicle older then 1976 is not required to have a title. I will give the buyer a notorized affadavit from the state of Alabama staating that a title is not required on vehicles older the 1976, And a signed registrsation, and notorized bill of sale. I have sold trucks to england and florida and the folks never had a problem. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head
Fri, Jan 30 2015"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:
See all seven colors available on 2016 Chevy Volt
Thu, May 21 2015General Motors has been happy to promote the 2016 Chevy Volt in the shiny blue color. On the company's website for the car, though, we can find all seven exterior colors, thanks to the magic of digital technology. We went through the site and played around with the option picker and put together a gallery of all the colors the new Volt will be available in as well as the five interior options. For the record, the exterior colors are: Kinetic Blue Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Summit White, Silver Ice Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Siren Red Tintcoat, Heather Grey Metallic. You'll be forgiven if you can't quite tell the difference between the Pearl and the White in these images, but both colors have been available on the 2015 model year Volt. GM spokesperson Michelle Malcho told AutoblogGreen that buyers do have a preference, with Pearl accounting for 10 percent of the sales and Summit White accounted for 17 percent. The Pearl color is a tri-coat and thus has a $995 price premium, which was likely a factor as well. The interior of the new Volt will have two cloth options (Dark Ash and Jet Black) and three leather choices (Dark Ash, Jet Black, and Jet Black/Brandy). That last one will only be available in the LTZ trim level. You can play around with the color adjuster yourself here. Kathy Sirvio, the color and design manager of the Volt design team, told AutoblogGreen that, "Kinetic Blue is a marketing name. At Design we call it 'Blew Me Away'. That is it in a nutshell. The blue color is vibrant, rich and eye catching. It may not sell at the highest volume, as we know from history whites, blacks and silvers are the dominant color sales. However, it will tell everyone who sees it on the street that here comes a new vehicle and it is expressive in all the right ways." The next-gen Volt arrives later this year with a starting price of $33,995. The powertrain upgrades will push the all-electric range to 50 miles and the gas-only fuel economy to 41 miles per gallon. Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
