1972 Chevrolet Highlander Special Edition Custom Camper Pickup on 2040-cars
Madison, Wisconsin, United States
|
Rare 72 Highlander Edition Custom Camper, Okra/white color with original black/white tartan interior, 350 engine. All original, 106,000 original miles. Original plaid interior under seat cover in very good shap. Original carpet. I am the second owner, clean title. I purchased this truck from the estate of what I was told was the original owner a little over a year ago. I bought the truck in Spokane, Washington and drove it across country to Madison, Wisconsin in October to my new home. What a great running truck! This truck has an incredible engine and drives great. The only repairs I have had to make to it since I bought it was to repair was a new manifold gasket, the power steering belts and a short in the turn signal. Both mechanics that have looked at it said it was in incredible shape mechanically. It is at the shop now being checked out thoroughly before I sell it. Air conditioning needsminor repair, not getting cold. There is no rust other than a few surface spots and has never been on salted roads. I have the tail light metal trim that is missing and the only dent is on the front corner and the metal trim is missing, but I have found several on the internet for a few bucks. Tires are in great shape and the bed is in very good shape with only some surface rust and scratches of course. Tailgate works great and the back bumper was for heavy lifting and not so pretty but you could find an original one to replace it. This is an easy restoration project and only cosmetic so if
you want something rust free and solid, this is the truck. |

2016 Chevrolet Spark gleams in green in New York
Fri, Apr 3 2015Take one look at the 2016 Chevrolet Spark that's debuting at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and you can immediately see that the little hatchback is growing up. The previous long headlights and tall greenhouse are gone in favor of a slightly more conventional look that suits the enlarged overall size well. To address complaints about a lack of power from the current Spark's 1.2-liter engine, the latest model gets a larger 1.4-liter unit making 98 horsepower. It can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission, but for those looking to maximize fuel economy, a CVT offers an estimated 40 miles per gallon highway fuel economy. Beyond the new engine, there's an upgraded platform underneath with a longer wheelbase. The underpinnings are also more rigid, as well, to help improve handling and lower interior noise. Inside, the Spark now gets some physical controls to go along with the seven-inch MyLink infotainment system. A rearview camera is standard, which seems almost unnecessary is such compact model, and buyers can further enhance safety with tech like a Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning and Side Blind Spot Alert. Check out the gallery above to see the Spark in its nuclear green paint at the New York show before the little hatch arrives at dealers in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Seeing the Detroit Auto Show via drone
Sun, Jan 18 2015Seeing the Chevrolet display at the Detroit Auto Show is worth doing this year, and not just because of the new Corvette Z06, Volt and Bolt concept. In order to attract the new kids, The Bowtie has gone what the old kids used to call "buck wild" with their show stand at Cobo Hall. A Corvette Z06, Trax, and Colorado are parked along a central aisle, called Mainstreet, at the end of which is a 20-foot-tall, 73-foot long transparent screen lording over the new Volt. Elsewhere are five more 20-foot-tall screens broadcasting nine stories today's Chevrolet wants to tell about its vehicles, from performance to belief in the power of play to its 4G LTE-equipped OnStar telematics service. Then there are the social media and virtual reality safety installations, the community presentations and more. Chevrolet flew a drone through the stand to show off what it's doing, which is has replaced eye-level video as the next best thing to being there. You can check it out in the video above.
