Up for auction is a 1959 Chevy Apache short bed fleet side truck!!

Truck is a true piece of California & American History!

Truck was a frame up build some years ago has 20,994 miles on complete build!!

This truck has a rebuilt 396 V8 with 427 heads connected to a rebuilt turbo 400 automatic transmission with zero issues.  The motor runs really smooth and runs nice and cool in the California heat with a new aluminum radiator!  Motor has edelbrock intake and carb. The transmission has a shift kit and barks the tires as it shifts through the gears.  Both motor and transmission have 20,994 miles and this truck has no problems driving anywhere.

Truck was driven to Portland, Or (593 miles with no problems)

Truck has a Volare front end with disc brakes and power steering.  Truck has a Ford 9 inch rear end with 3:08 gears so it has no problem cruising down the highway at 80 mph plus!!!

This truck was built right and drives amazing.  True turn key truck!!!

The interior has new custom bucket seats with a center console that holds the cd player/iPod hook up.  Truck also has a new set of custom gauges.  Every gauge and light works on this classic truck.  Truck has a new complete wiring harness.

Bed would is new oak with new stainless steel rails.  Tail gate has been converted to a pulley system so there are no chains to mess up your nice paint job.  The Battery has been moved to the bed to help clean up the engine compartment.  The battery is housed inside of a stainless steel box.

Truck has 15 inch rally rims with newer BF Goodrich tires.

This truck has no rust or rot anywhere and the body is laser straight (Look at the pictures).

This truck runs great and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere (I mean anywhere)!!

Truck has won tons of awards at car shows.  This is a show truck, but she is no trailer queen.  She was built to drive and cruise.

If you don't like people talking to you about your cool truck then this isn't the truck for you.  You will get stopped everywhere you go.  People love this truck.

Truck is available for immediate purchase and I reserve the right to end auction at any time.

If you have any questions or would like to purchase this truck please call or text 916-220-6610

Woodward Dream Cruise Photo Gallery | Classics and American muscle

Sun, Aug 21 2022

The 2022 running of the Woodward Dream Cruise just went down, and we were there from morning to evening drinking in the sweet sights and pre-emissions exhaust fumes. Yes, it’s a little smelly on Woodward Ave. this time of year. Just like always, the Dream Cruise invites all comers to cruise their machines on Woodward from Ferndale, MI to Pontiac, MI. Everybody is invited, but the original intent of the Dream Cruise was to highlight classic American muscle cars. YouÂ’ll see plenty of those in our mega gallery above, but weÂ’ve sprinkled it with a bunch of other vehicle types, such as modern muscle and other intriguing American vehicles. Similar to years past, though, sometimes the classics arenÂ’t the most entertaining thing to look at on Woodward. ThatÂ’s why weÂ’ll have other mega galleries coming soon, highlighting the weird cars and (great) dogs of the Cruise, all the imports and exotics you can imagine and a special one for all the trucks of Woodward — perhaps even more so than in years past, the truck population on Dream Cruise day was quite high. Click through above to see all the classics you wouldÂ’ve seen had you been roadside on the day of the cruise. And if you missed this yearÂ’s event, make sure you check out what happens next year. You wonÂ’t be alone, as itÂ’s estimated that over 1 million people attend the Dream Cruise to either watch from the side of the road or to sit in the most glorious traffic jam in the world. GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.

Autonomous tech will drive motorheads off the road

Thu, Nov 9 2017

While autonomous technology could make car travel much safer and more efficient — and automakers and marketers are salivating over the prospect of a "passenger economy" that could potentially generate $7 trillion by 2050 — those of us who enjoy driving are not so stoked. Experts have predicted that as autonomous vehicles are deployed in large numbers, human-driven cars eventually could be outlawed on public roads due to the carnage they create, which is currently more than 41,000 deaths a year in the U.S. alone and climbing. Such scenarios have driving enthusiasts envisioning a "Red Barchetta" style nightmare becoming reality, making Rush lyricist Neil Peart a clairvoyant as well as one of rock's most badass skin-pounders. But there could be a couple of refuges left for motorheads, and they won't be on public roads. As Popular Science's Joe Brown points out in a recent editorial, we're seeing a wave of vehicles being offered by legit mainstream automakers that aren't made for public roads. The poster child of this vanguard is the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which comes with a crate full of goodies that lets you turn the already formidable street-legal muscle car into a drag-strip dominator. Brown also notes that two out of five of the Ford GT's driving modes are for use on the track, "catering to the $450,000 machine's club-racing clientele." We're also currently enjoying the heyday of production off-road-ready pickups that kicked off with the Ford Raptor in 2009. The latest salvo in this escalating war of overachieving trucks is the Chevy Colorado ZR2 that can take on the likes of California's Rubicon Trail without issue. Brown also gives a shout-out to his magazine's Grand Award Winner, the Alta Motors Redshift MX, which "isn't even allowed on public roads" and is "meant for bombing around motocross tracks, big backyards and single-track woods trails." If you follow Brown on Instagram, you know that he's also a two-wheel aficionado, and he points out that sales of off-road bikes are leaving street machines in the dust. Sales of off-highway motorcycles rose 29 percent between 2012 and 2016, according to the Motorcycle Industry Council — compared to 6 percent for road-bike sales during the same period. "That's a nearly 400-percent drubbing," Brown remarks.
