NO RESERVE AUCTION WINNING BID TAKES IT

You are bidding on a classic American 4x4 farm project truck . A 1959 Chevrolet Apache 4x4. I purchased this truck with intent to restore it to its original form. Due to a heavy work load my time does not allow. I spent quite a bid of time looking for a truck of this vintage that had "GOOD BONES" and was complete. It still is. I searched for months and had this one shipped in from the West Coast. The cab, floors, rockers, fenders, doors and bed are all sound and in tact. The frame is ROCK solid. The front frame section driver side has been straightened and reinforced. Appears to be nothing serious and looks professionally repaired. It also has the hard to find Napco 4x4 drive line. Complete, but he front drive shaft will need to be replaced. It has a V8 in it not but the original Chevy application is a 235 6 cylinder .The body panels show some bumps and bruises from farm use but are workable. The windshield is cracked and the fuel tank is in rough shape but an additional tank is included to the buyer. The odometer is difficult to read but for this year truck the title reads odometer exempt. I have not had the truck running since it rolled off of the transport truck. The fuel tank needs to be cleaned but the farmer I purchased it from said he used it as his daily driver just under a year ago. I bought the truck for its simplicity and its finished dollar value. Complete the truck will bring between $35,000 and $40,000. My loss your gain. It is a basic tough truck. It has manual lock out 4x4 hubs and a manual gear box. If you have the time and are passionate about seeking out the parts to bring this truck back to a daily driver or a restored American classic THIS IS YOUR TRUCK. The truck is being sold as is with no warranties written or implied. I would be happy to show the truck to serious buyers. You will be provided a bill of sale and a clean certificate of title that I received when I bought it. Ask as many questions as you like. The truck will need to be transported on a trailer... Thanks for looking. EMAIL with any questions.

THE VEHICLE IS FOR SAL LOCALLY AND I WILL  END THE AUCTION EARLY IF IT SELLS.

Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]

Sun, 03 Feb 2013

The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.

Audi S4 drivers are the most accident-prone, insurance report says

Sun, Jun 25 2023

Culling data from more than 4.6 million automobile insurance applications, researchers at the Insurify insurance comparison marketplace picked a winner — or more to the point, a loser — in its determination of the car model with the most accidents so far in 2023: the Audi S4. Why does the sporty, luxury-class German sedan rank so high (or so low)? The organization found that S4 drivers, piloting a car with almost 350 horsepower, are among those who collect the most speeding tickets, and that they get into accidents at a rate 54 percent higher than the national average. If the S4 isnÂ’t a surprise with an at-fault accident rate of 11.7 percent, consider the “family friendly” brand that appears three times on the Insurity list: Subaru. It is represented by three models, including the turbocharged WRX and XV Crosstrek, and at the better-performing bottom of the list, the Subaru Impreza, with an accident rate of 10.3 percent.  In 2023, 7.6 percent of U.S. drivers were involved in at least one at-fault accident in the prior seven years. For drivers of cars on this list, the average at-fault accident rate was 10.5 percent, meaning these drivers are 1.4 times as likely to have an at-fault accident on record. According to its statement, the Insurity data science team explored key safety features, driver behavior, and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluations to pinpoint possible reasons behind these carsÂ’ high accident rates. Following is the list, counting down to the models with most reported accidents: 10. Subaru Impreza (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.3 percent; MSRP base model): $19,795) 9. Kia Niro (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.4 percent; MSRP base model): $26,590) 8. Chevrolet Silverado LD (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.4%, MSRP base model): $34,500) 7. Subaru XV Crosstrek (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.5 percent, MSRP 6. Subaru WRX.(percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.7% MSRP base model): $29,605) 5. Toyota GR86 (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.8 percent MSRP base model): $29,900) 4. Hyundai Veloster N (percentage of drivers with a prior at-fault accident on record: 10.9 percent; MSRP base model): $32,500) 3.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.
