1958 Chevy Apache 31 Pickup.  Chevy 350 4 Bolt main engine.  New cam installed 5 years ago (done to replace a more aggressive cam).  New Holley 650CFM carb.  The engine starts and runs flawlessly.  New (rebuilt) TH400 transmission also installed 5 years ago.  All new wiring throughout the truck.   Power steering also added at that time. New distributor and wires.  Re-cored (4 core) radiator with electric fan added.  The truck has been driven less than 1000 miles since all these things were done.  2.5" dual exhaust with stainless mufflers.  Firestone Firehawk SS Tires with lots of tread left.  (255/60 15s).  The color of the truck is 1978 Ford Mustang Chrome Yellow.  Not sure when the truck was painted but the paint looks great!   I am selling for my father whose health has kept him from driving this truck the way he had planned.  That is why the truck is being listed for sale.

I have taken a bunch of pics to document the condition of this truck.  Ebay only allows 24..i have many more if someone needs to see anything beyond what is shown.   It is a super clean truck and it looks as good in person as it does in the pics.  The chrome on the truck is in excellent condition.  Pics of the underside and engine compartment also speak volumes.  With that said I also believe in being forthcoming with anything on the truck that might require attention at some point.   The wheels on the truck are older and do show some wear and pitting.  Also, the outside bottoms of the doors and front corners of bed do have some filler in them...the only filler in the truck.  This is evident at the right angle in the right light.  I have been on the buying side of classic/muscle cars more than once and know this is something I would ask and want to know.   I have taken pics of the bottoms of the doors and bottom front of bed to document...and from that you can see its nothing major, nothing that stands out or requires attention.  This is a beautiful truck!

As you can see from the pics the interior of the truck is in great condition.  The speedometer does not work.  My dad always used a dash mounted GPS unit plugged into cigarette lighter for speedometer.   All other gauges and lights function as they should.  (aftermarket temp gauge)

This is truly a turn key truck ready for someone to enjoy.  My father added many things to make this a great driving, reliable truck and someone is going to reap the benefits of that at mostly his expense.  But if you've been around classic cars and trucks long enough you understand that's often how it goes when you sell.   Anyone who would like to see the truck in person is more than welcome...I encourage it!   Please email me with any questions and be happy to discuss the truck with you.  Thanks

Craig

Supercharged 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 takes the C7 beyond the ZR1

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

The Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.
After a bright-yellow false start, here is the real thing: the fourth-generation, 2015 Corvette Z06. If Chevrolet makes a ZR1 version of the C7 Corvette, it's going to be absolutely mega, because the Z06 is just about everything we got in the last ZR1, but better.

Chevy confirms 2016 Camaro will have wheels, brakes

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Good news, everyone! Chevrolet has issued yet another round of teaser images and information about the sixth-generation Camaro, set to debut in Detroit on May 16. This time around, Chevy's teaser images confirm that the new car will not only have wheels and tires (Goodyear Eagle F1s, no less), but brakes as well. On top of that, we now know that the new Camaro will be 28-percent stiffer than the outgoing model. "The more rigid body structure allowed the engineers to more precisely calibrate the steering and suspension systems because they didn't have to compensate for chassis flex. The lighter structure also enabled the size and mass of elements such as the wheels, tires and brakes to be scaled accordingly," GM said in a press release, which you can read below. We've already learned that the new coupe will be 200 pounds lighter than its predecessor, has a bunch of unique parts, and according to GM's Mark Reuss, will outperform the Ford Mustang in every way. Now, it's only a matter of time before we see the sixth-gen Camaro, but surely not before Chevy issues even more teasers and information. Related Video: 2016 Camaro is Stronger, Lighter and More Responsive Computer aided engineering contributes to 28 percent greater structural stiffness DETROIT – The engineering team spent 9 million hours of computational time honing the driving experience of the all-new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro before the first prototype turned a wheel. The structural modeling led to the Gen 6 Camaro being 28 percent stiffer than the current model. "The modeling abilities of computer aided engineering are advancing at incredible rates," said Jim Karlavage, Camaro program engineering manager. "Today, we can accurately model opportunities to add torsional strength without adding unnecessary mass. The result is a lighter, stiffer structure that benefits every aspect of the driving experience." The more rigid body structure allowed the engineers to more precisely calibrate the steering and suspension systems because they didn't have to compensate for chassis flex. The lighter structure also enabled the size and mass of elements such as the wheels, tires and brakes to be scaled accordingly. "The structural weight savings are compounded by opportunities to reduce un-sprung weight," said Karlavage.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
