This is my 1949 Chevrolet truck, I have been slowly building this for some time now and as you can see I went for the rat rod look, everyone diggs the paint job and its a real shame I never got it on the road. It has a '72 454 and turbo 400 from a motorhome, I have around $6000 of receipts just in the motor. It was completely reconditioned, polished and balanced, rumpety cam and inspected. Needs headers. This thing is an absolute monster..

Air bag system is already all hooked up, 3gal tank and Firestone compressor. Air ride 4 paddle twin gauge controller mounted under dash. Controls each bag individually and doesn't allow bleed when cornering so it will handle amazingly. Sits about a half inch off the ground when lowered.

Band new loom pushed through firewall, started connecting it all, super simple instructions and easy set up. Brand new steering column, gauges have been professionally reconditioned and are as new internally ($600+), bucket seats with heated seat elements in both lower and upper, finished in tweed and distressed leather vinyl, fatmat throughout, factory radio hole delete and new handles, liner in box, heater box, new glass, window felts and other misc. interior parts.

Body is in excellent shape, no rust, no bog, I looked for a long time to find a shell in this condition. It's finished in a rusty patina paint job and looks awesome. have the front badge, new lights, new hinges, new moonies, posts and other parts.

The petrol tank is in the wood trunk, needs plumbing, wood in the back has been antiqued and there's a thick bar top coat on top.

It has staggered white wall radials with less than 500 miles, over $1700 new with smoothies. 4 wheels disc brakes, new booster, new lokar shifter installed... I have thousands of dollars in parts and pretty much everything to get this on the road!! I have done the expensive part so this is s great project. I haven't gotten round to obtaining a title, I was going to finish it and take it to CHP and get a new title that way but its not a driver yet. This isn't too difficult when it's driving and have bill of sale.

I've been building this for a long time and due to new commitments I wont have any time at all to finish so I'm selling my projects, just want to recoup some of the cash I've spent. Very easy to see the value in this truck it's going to be badass, these easily fetch 25 to 30 k in this spec (bags, built BBC, 4 wheels disc, clean and unique) anyone who has seen can't believe how awesome it is, get yourself into a classic that will be worth top dollar when done! All the bits are there it just needs time. more parts than pictured.

Happy to help out of state buyers!

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.
