YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 1973 NOVA "SS" HATCHBACK. THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALY PURCHASED AS A PARTS CAR FOR ANOTHER SHOW CAR THAT WE HAVE. HOWEVER, AFTER LOOKING INTO THIS CAR AND FINDING OUT ITS HISTORY I KEPT IT TO EVENTUALLY BUILD AND HAVE HIS AND HERS NOVA'S FOR MY WIFE AND I. SINCE THEN I HAVE BUILT OTHER PROJECTS AND HAVE DECIDED TO SELL THIS ONE. THIS CAR WAS AN ORIGINAL 4 SPEED CAR AND HAD BIG BLOCK MOUNTS WHEN I GOT IT. THE OWNER INFORMED ME THAT A COMPANY CALLED NIKKI CHEVROLET IN CHICAGO FITTED THE CAR WITH A 454 BIG BLOCK FRAME CONNECTORS AND A 4 SPEED TRANS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH BUT GOT NOWHERE!!! THERE WAS A COMPANY CALLED NIKKI CHEVROLET IN CHICAGO AT THE TIME OF THE CAR AND THE GUYS STORY DID AD UP - BUT THATS ALL WE GOT. I CONTACTED A NOVA CLUB IN MICHIGAN AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE CHICAGO COMPANY DID NOT KEEP EXACT RECORDS AND A FIRE IN THE LATE 70'S DID NOT LEAVE A LOT OF RECORDS AS TO WHAT CARS GOT WHAT DONE TO THEM.. SO MAYBE IT'S A MYTH OR MAYBE FACT - WHATEVER IT IS - I GOT THE CAR!

CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE!

OK NOW THAT WE ALL GOT A HISTORY LESSON LETS GET INTO THE RIDE - THIS NOVA WAS GOING TO BE ANOTHER SHOW CAR, BUT AS I FOUND MORE AND MORE PARTS IT BECAME A STREET CAR. SMALL BLOCK 350 BORED .030, FLAT TOP PISTONS, EAGLE RODS, LUNATI CAM AND LIFTER KIT, PRO COMP ROLLER ROCKERS, B&M FORCED AIR INDUCTION SUPERCHARGER WITH A HOLLEY 700CFM ON TOP. THEN THERE IS SOME BILLET, ELECTRIC FANS AND OTHER PERFORMANCE UPGRADES. IF SOMEONE IS BUILDING A HOT ROD THE DRIVE TRANE ALONE IS WORTH WHAT WE ARE ASKING FOR THE CAR!

THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD CONDITION. CARPET IS OK, SEATS NEED COVERING, DOOR PANELS HAVE SOME CRACKS, HEADLINER OK, PLASTICS ARE NICE OTHER THAN SPEAKER CUT OUTS. DASH LIGHTS DONT WORK. LOOKS OK FOR A STREET CAR..

THE WHEELS ARE CENTERLINE PRO LINE RIMS AND GOOD TIRES

THE BUMPERS ARE NICE, TRIM IS GOOD, GRILL NICE, HEADLIGHTS, TAILIGHTS, ALL WORK. HATCH AREA (SPARE) IS SOLID, GLASS IS GOOD, B&M FLOOR SHIFTER, GRANT PRO STEERING WHEEL.

THE BAD - THE DASH LIGHTS DONT WORK, THE REAR BUMPER FILLER IS MISSING (I HAVE AN OLD ONE WE WILL THROW IN) THE RUNS AND DRIVES FAST!!! BUT COULD BE DIALED IN BETTER. IT HAS A REGULAR GM STARTER AND CAN USE A HIGH TORQUE GEAR REDUCTION. IT HAD ONE THAT WENT BAD AND WE HAD THIS STARTER IN STOCK -

THIS CAR WAS BUILT TO GO FAST AND LOOK MEAN! THAT IS WHAT I ACHIEVED SO I DID NOT GO CRAZY MAKING IT PERFECT!

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.

GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch

Mon, 04 Feb 2013

According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
