1972 Chevy Nova Pro Stock 427 Big Block Street Legal Hot Rod Calif, Car on 2040-cars
Paso Robles, California, United States
I’m selling my 72 chevy nova. It has a 427 big block
with a little over 1500 on the rebuild. It has 11:5 to 1 compression, custom
ground billet solid roller cam with .600 lift and 238 duration at .50, oval
port closed chambered heads that have been ported and polished with bigger
valves, comp cams stainless steel rocker arms, and a single plane intake with
an AED 850 carb. This is a nasty motor. It has a turbo 400 trans that was just
built with a 3000 stall torque converter custom made by Mojave Green. It also
has a ford 8.8 rear end with a Detroit
TrueTrac diff with custom made moser 31 spline axels with a chevy bolt pattern.
The interior is very nice. The only problem with this car is the paint. It has
a lot of cracks. But everything else is ready to go. This car is built for drag
racing but it is a lot of fun to drive on the street. Never been raced! Has Weld wheels.
Please note: Although the car is street legal it was built for the drag strip. Can’t go on the freeway and not a good cruiser. Must have atleast 98 octane fuel. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or transport costs. |

Corvette Stingray designer lists five goals of new exterior shape
Fri, 12 Apr 2013Redesigning an icon is a difficult task, especially when you've got a blank sheet of paper in front of you and the all-new C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is intended to be your final objective.
General Motors has released a new short video featuring Kirk Bennion of the Corvette's exterior design team, talking about the challenges of sculpting Chevrolet's new flagship sports car and the five goals the team had to keep in mind as it worked. In the end, Bennion's team had the pleasure of seeing their hard work take center stage as the Corvette captured the world's eyes at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Chevy exec confirms SS production model reveal at Daytona on Feb 16
Wed, 06 Feb 2013The 2014 Chevrolet SS will make its racing debut for the 2013 Daytona 500, but the production version of the car will get its official unveiling on February 16 in Daytona, a week before The Great American Race. According to a report by Automotive News, the reveal has been confirmed by Jim Campbell, Chevy's US vice president of performance and motorsports. With the departure of the Dodge Charger, the new Chevrolet racecar will be the only competitor to feature a V8, rear-wheel-drive layout in both street and NASCAR form.
NASCAR fans will be able to see the new fullsize performance-oriented sedan on display in the festivities leading up to the Daytona 500, but the car won't go on sale until later in the year. The Australian-built Chevy SS will be a low-volume performance model, and it will be priced above the 2014 Impala, which starts at $27,535.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible gives us a couple of looks
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Put away your pixel paintbrushes, kids. Pack up your Photoshop. This is the real-deal 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible in its first official images. The droptop Chevrolet will roll into the bright lights of the Palexpo exhibition at next week's Geneva Motor Show, a four-wheeled statement of intent that General Motors is serious about taking its Corvette franchise global.
Chevy isn't providing anything in the way of further details with these two shots, but we've learned at least a couple of things about the car shown here. First off, the example seen in these images is fitted with the optional Z51 Performance Package - something that isn't immediately evident because there's no sign of the coupe model's prominent ductwork on its rear haunches. In order to accommodate the power folding hard tonneau cover, the vents that feed the transmission and differential coolers have been relocated to the underside of the car. The dark paint color on this example also does a good job of muting the contrasting black front fender vents and hood opening - Z51-spec design details that have proven to be somewhat controversial.
One other thing to note: These two shots also display the Stingray wearing different alloy wheels than the split five-spoke design shown at the hardtop's Detroit Auto Show unveiling in January. The simpler, thin five-spoke wheels should do a good job of showing off the Z51's upgraded brakes, and they'll be optional on the coupe as well.
