This Nova has had a complete restoration, done in 2010, the drivetrain and suspension was all gone through. Trim and bumpers, tail light lenses, rubber gaskets/weather stripping and much more were all replaced, it has only had one repaint (that was done at the same time, in the Cranberry Pearl you see). It has a period correct stance and appearance, looks mean, and has a nice dual exhaust sound coming from the flowmasters. The underside of this car is super clean with no rust and it has lived its life in Florida. The interior is completely new including new front and rear seat upholstery, new headliner, new front and rear door panels. I get tons of compliments on this car whenever I drive it and it looks awesome. The engine was replaced with a crate motor and the 4 speed automatic transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit, cruise at highway speeds with ease. I have tons of pics so please let me know if you would like more or have any questions, thanks for looking
included in this auction aside from the car, is a modified/built 355 Small Block Chevy motor (350 bored .030), Pictured below, it has: 010 Block, 4 bolt mains, flat top pistons, pete jackson gear drive, edelbrock intake manifold, fresh chrome, 2.02 fuelie heads, Crane Cam (mild), ARP hardware, 7 quart oil pan, im probably forgetting some things, this motor has an estimated 400+ hp - the 350 SBC Engine that's in the car now runs great, fast and very reliable, it's a low mileage crate motor that runs so perfectly, i didn't want to modify it, hence the hot-rod'd 355...
Exterior
· Rust free car-only 1 repaint its whole life, never had panels replaced, never wrecked, floors, doors, hood, deck lid-all solid and original, doors, hood and trunk all open and close nicely
· New GM rally wheels / beauty rings / derby caps and tires have less than 500 miles, 235/60/15 rear - 195/60/15 front with locking lug nuts
· The floors and trunk are extremely solid and clean as stated above, all window trim is in excellent condition.
· The paint is about an 8 out of 10. The trunk and door jams were painted right and look good. This is not a $20,000.00 paint job but looks much better than a driver quality. You can see from the pics, the paint shines nice and the car is straight.
· There are a couple small cracks/blems in the paint which I point out in pics. You need to be right on it, a foot away, to even see this stuff, however I want to disclose everything I can so that there are no surprises.
· The doors and trunk have new weather striping as mentioned above. The original tire jack works and is in the trunk with a usable spare and wheel wrench.
· The hinges on the hood work great and are in great condition, same with door hinges and trunk hinges
· Yenko package was done right, all high quality licensed reproduction stuff that was professionally applied.
Interior
· The whole interior was redone earlier this year and is in perfect condition-the car has been driven less than a dozen times since the new interior was put in.
· Seats have been reupholstered front and rear.
· Headliner was also replaced at the same time, also new dome light assembly and lens.
· Rear package tray is very nice, sound comes from Boston Acoustics 6x9's and an indash Kenwood cd player
· Ice Cold Air Conditioning (r134) and heat, vintage air system.
· New door panels front and rear, also new hardware-door clips.
· New door arm rests and pads.
· All Gauges Work speedometer, fuel, etc. (also digital tach/digital oil pressure gauge), dome light works, air conditioning works, glove box light works, signals and head lights work, etc.
Engine - Drivetrain
· 350 small block chevy crate motor with chrome extras
· Edelbrock 4barrel carb with electric choke (1405)
· Accel HEI distributer/electronic ignition, good battery with GM sidepost terminals
· The trans is a rebuilt 700R4 4 speed/overdrive with shift kit.
· All the accessories were also replaced like alternator, water pump, fuel pump, etc and there is a new "Thermo-cap" on the radiator that gives you an accurate temperature reading.
· Smooth running engine gets great gas mileage w/the 4spd, all wiring/routing done well.
· 10 bolt Posi-trac rear end. (both wheels get power)
· Factory power steering
· Factory disk brakes in front and drums in rear, work perfectly and stop on a dime.
· The car runs quick-you can light the tires up easily, shifts, and stops perfectly, needs nothing.

National Corvette Museum to recreate sinkhole experience for patrons [UPDATE]
Sun, May 10 2015UPDATE: The Thunderdome at the National Corvette Museum is not a ride; instead it's an experience that mixes digital graphics and thundering sound. For a brief period, it looked like the National Corvette Museum was going to preserve that sinkhole that ate eight important 'Vettes last year. After all, tourism boomed there afterwards. However, keeping the crater would have been more expensive than just doing the repairs. The museum isn't ready to let people completely forget, though, and now intends to make a major attraction out of a recreated version of the calamity. The museum's plan turns the sinkhole disaster into an amusement park ride called the Thunderdome, according to GM Authority. In a smaller recreation of the Skydome, 15 people at a time would get to watch an imitation of the sinkhole devouring the eight Corvettes. To make the experience even more immersive, visitors would get to view this all from an artificial, underground cave. If you missed seeing the actual pit, this would certainly be a bizarre way to experience it. According to GM Authority, the exhibit would also include an explanation of how sinkholes occur. The Corvette museum reportedly wants the attraction open by this fall.
Common Dodge Ram 1500 vs. Chevrolet Silverado breakdowns
Wed, May 4 2016These two trucks are famous for their ability to get the job done. Still, even the toughest vehicle can have mechanical problems at some time. What if we match the Dodge Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado head to head? Let's find out more about common repairs for each model. Also, learn some tricks to pay for car repairs. Clunky Steering Both Dodge and the Chevy owners sometimes notice bumping and clunking when steering. This might be more noticeable when driving over bumps. The cause is usually different in each truck though. In the Dodge Ram, clunky steering is more likely due to a defective lower ball joint. Replacement costs around $300 - $400, parts and labor. Clunky Chevy Silverado steering is probably a steering rack failure. This problem appears more often in trucks with over 90,000 miles. Silverado steering rack repair will run you up to $1,000 or more. Starting Woes For the Chevy Silverado with over 130,000 miles, you might notice trouble starting. This problem may appear occasionally at first, but it typically gets worse. Excluding a weak battery, the culprit is usually the starter. Replacement will cost you around $330 - $500. Of the total cost, $90 is for labor only. Now the Dodge Ram might make a ticking sound when starting, especially on models with over 94,500 miles. The noise often disappears after the engine warms up. These symptoms may indicate a broken exhaust manifold. Repair costs range from $800 - $900. Burning Oil & Gas Gauge On The Blink Sometimes, the Dodge Ram burns oil much faster than normal. In models with over 125,000 miles, this often points towards a leaky intake manifold gasket. A knocking sound may also appear with acceleration along with possible engine misfire. The cost to repair is around $200 - $300. The Chevy Silverado has its own surprises, especially when you've filled the gas tank but the gauge still reads low. Or the needle fluctuates widely from low to full while driving. In trucks with over 120,000 miles, it's likely due to a faulty fuel sensor. You might need a full fuel pump replacement, which can cost you up to $820, parts and labor. Water Inside And Poor Heat The Ram 1500 rear window has been known to leak. You might notice the back seat and floor wet after a rainstorm. This is more common in trucks with over 65,000 miles. Resealing the Ram 1500 rear window costs around $150 - $250.
Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
