On Sep-03-14 at 17:07:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for bid we have a rust free 71 Chevy Nova painted Almond green which is a Land Rover color and a Rally Nova stripe package (THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL RALLY NOVA) the original color of the car was a lime green color that was stripped to metal and the right front fender had new metal welded in the bottom. The car is laser straight with no waves and the body lines are even all the way around. The interior has new carpet and dash pad, the seats and headliner are perfect. The bottom of the door panel has scuffs from hitting it when getting out over the years and is a little worn. The car has new front & rear bumpers, vinyl top and the tires have less than 500 miles on them. The engine is a stock 350 that runs good and the 2 speed powerglide shifts as it should. Dual exhaust with flow master mufflers. The car goes down the road straight and there is no pulling from the drum brakes, you can take your hands off the wheel and step on the brakes and it stops in a straight line. Chevy 14" rally wheels with SS center caps. Direction lights work brake lights work headlights work. The am radio does not work. I have put about 400 miles on the car in the last three weeks with no issues. Any questions or if you need anymore pictures just ask. I highly recommend an inspection before bidding. Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?
Tue, 19 Feb 2013Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more? MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet. Right now, GM is reportedly waiting to see what sort of grunt it can glean from the next ZR1.
The automaker has already made it clear it will resurrect the LT5 name for the new supercharged V8, and if GM is already pulling 600 from the Z06, the big dog ZR1 would theoretically offer 700 horsepower. Either way, the range-topping Corvette will be suitably insulated from its less potent siblings. Stay tuned. We aren't likely to see the Z06 for at least a year, with the ZR1 trailing along at some point there after.
