For sale is my BEAUTIFUL 1970 Chevy Nova!

This car is the ONLY CAR I OWN!

I drive it to work, to get groceries, to go to the movies, bars, restaurants. WHEREVER I GO MY NOVA IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION! It is beyond reliable. It is equipped with POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, AND ORIGINAL FACTORY A/C

This car is all steel. There is no major body filler, notice the photos of the 100% steel quarter panels. The paint is not show quality, but it is still gorgeous. I get compliments everywhere I go and everyday on my way to work groups of children wave and cheer as I zoom past. The car comes with the original jack and spare and the original manual from 1970! I was told that the car has the original vinyl top as well. The car is equipped with WELD racing wheels.

Under the hood sits a brand new 350 crate engine with less than 2500 miles, see listing for specific mileage. The car starts right up and idles great. I keep a performance edelbrock 4 barrel carb and intake. It is large enough for me to produce horsepower and small enough to where you aren't driving from gas station to gas station. The reason I chose to put a 350 in it is because all of these parts are bolt on and can be changed with ease. Want more horsepower? Bolt on a bigger carb, its that easy. Want to save gas money? Keep the edelbrock. The transmission is a 3 speed automatic 350 turbo. The car shifts smoothly without hesitation.

The interior is practically mint condition with two bench seats and lap belts. The steering wheel is a chevy hot rod model and the carpet is very nice. The only issue with the interior is the original A/C controls bind up when you go to turn it off, so the car has been equipped with an A/C kill switch underneath the steering column. This doesn't really effect me because I dont use the A/C, so I cut the V-belt on the compressor for the extra horsepower. All it takes is a new V-belt for the A/C to blow.

This car is style, it is class. This car is 100% ready to roll. Do you live in California? Buy this car and DRIVE IT BACK HOME. Car manufacturers don't make beauties like this today. Who wants to take their cars to a car show and then drive home? Not me. This car was made for the road, so that's where she deserves to stay.

Anti-purist 1963 Ferrari GTE sports hot rod Chevy V8

Thu, Oct 8 2015

I remember reading a story around the time Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift came out. It focused on one of the star cars of that film, a 1967 Ford Mustang fastback that started the film as a shell, and in a pinch, was transformed into a modified masterpiece, complete with the RB26DETT engine from a Nissan Skyline GT-R (which started the film under the hood of an S15 Silvia). There was a genuine (and in our minds, absurd) fear in the article that taking a piece of classic American iron and fitting a twin-turbocharged JDM engine would result in some awful trend in the classic car community. If you thought a GT-R-powered classic Mustang was sacrilege, though, this car will probably make you vomit. For the rest of us, it's a neat piece of engineering. Shown above is a 1963 Ferrari 250 GTE, and yes, that's a 302-cubic-inch, small-block Chevrolet V8 under the hood. On top of that, it uses the six-speed manual transmission from a Viper, a nine-inch Ford rear end, and Mitsubishi-sourced paint. So yeah, it's a FrankenFerrari. Check out Road Heads' interview with this custom GTE's owner, which is followed by a brief test drive. And of course, head into Comments afterwards, and let us know what you think. Is this Yankee-powered 250 GTE blasphemous or badass?

2015 Chevrolet Trax

Thu, Dec 4 2014

After the obligatory product presentation for the 2015 Trax, I caught up with Steve Majoros, Chevrolet's director of marketing for crossovers and cars, and asked him to elaborate on which markets his planners believe will be the hot starters for this tiny CUV. Without much hesitation, Majoros began to click off traditional sales havens for Subaru, namely, New England and the snowy bits of the East Coast, Colorado and the Pacific Northwest. That news might not surprise you, but it did me. Perhaps it's something as basic as the Trax's tall-hatchback looks, or the emphasis Chevrolet put on the urban driving cycle during my test in San Diego. But before my chat with Majoros, I'd considered this a crossover pointed at the Millennial city mouse more than his bumpkin cousin. But a closer look had me re-examining the granola cred of Chevy's smallest crossover. Having spent my fair share of time in New England and around New Englanders, I started by mentally listing the Trax's Subaru-like traits: practicality, thrift, all-weather ability and, well, just a dash of ugliness. (I suppose a hatchback needn't always be ugly to sell in Maine, or Boulder or Portland... but a 'distinctive' face doesn't seem to hurt.) After a day of driving through sunny San Diego and its surroundings, I can say that Trax makes an interesting case for itself against the standard bearers of the L.L. Bean set, but I'm less sure of its argument for young urbanites. The Trax looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. Chevy's has downsized its own, rather conservative crossover styling to fit the proportions of the subcompact Trax; to my eyes, it looks a lot like an Equinox whose suit shrunk in the wash. That's fine for offering a cohesive look for the Chevy family of crossovers, but it seems out of step with the rest of the segment. If the Trax's current competitive set were the cast of a high school-based TV show, the Kia Soul would play the lovable nerd, the Nissan Juke perhaps the outsider musician and the Subaru XV Crosstrek the athletic outdoorsy kid. Chevy may see the Trax as the hipster chick wearing intentionally ironic mom jeans, but to me the styling is a little too on the nose; more like an actual grownup trying to hang with the kids. These mom jeans are genuine. Per my earlier point, that quasi-conservative look may be just fast enough for staid New Englanders, but I have a hard time seeing the bluff, big-Bowtied front end playing in Bushwick or Wicker Park.

Callaway debuts its new C7 Stingray at National Corvette Museum

Fri, 02 May 2014

Callaway showed off its first tuned version of the 2014 Corvette Stingray at the National Corvette Museum last week, giving the rampant enthusiasts of America's sports car a look at the roughly 620-horsepower, supercharged rocket.
Unlike the Corvette SC610 we showed you back in January, this Stingray packs a fair bit more oomph. Horsepower is only up ten ponies, but torque has jumped from 556 pound-feet to "at least" 600 pound-feet. Neither horsepower nor torque is official quite yet, although Callaway is expecting to know just what its creation can do once testing and validation is completed later this month.
The 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 now boasts a new, three-element intercooler, which Callaway claims only allowed the inlet air temperature to increase by ten degrees Fahrenheit during dyno runs. Previous designs saw a 35-degree-Fahrenheit jump. The exhaust system has also been fettled with, and now is even less restrictive.
