This is my baby, a 69 Chevy nova That looks, Runs, Drives and sounds

AMAZING!!!! The previous owner owned this car for 20 years and he said it had been

in boise for most of its life and also mentioned that it is a well know car around

the treasure valley. He said he bought it sometime in the early 90's with the drive

to buy his dream car. It was said he had to shovel horse shit and work as a ranch

hand for a year... just to save enough for a down payment. I then started a new job

in 2011 and met him...shorty after meeting him I soon realized that he had fallen

onto hard times. Desperate for money and facing a potentially life changing divorce

he told me he wanted to sell hit car. When he signed over the title the poor guy

started crying and every tear that ran down his cheek was proof that this really

was his baby. That is how i came across this nova. Shortly after aquiring this

beautiful car, I also started developing strong feelings for the car. I have

enjoyed the car for almost 2 years now and never had any intentions on selling this

car....EVER! but as we all know sometimes money can be tight and we have to do what

we got to do to make ends meet. :((( so enough said about me!

This beast has a Small block 350 Stroker pushing around 400HP, equipped

with rocker rollers, Four barrel Holley 750 and Scropion Edelbrock intake, MSD

Ignition, new plug wires, custom headers chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner

cover. I also just put a new fuel pump in the car. This is a TRUE SS and was

ordered with the 12 bolt posi rear end and munsie 4 speed with the bench seat. (WE

DID NOT SWAP IT....THIS CAR WAS ORDERED LIKE THIS FROM THE FACTORY. The motor is

not numbers matching but it is a C code block which usually means it was a warranty

exchange block from GM. So this was more than likely the only motor that has been

in the car since the original was taken out due to a defect during the manufactures

warrany. The transmission is also not original, but the rest of the car is.

The interior is equipped with a new front seat cover,Tach, water temp

gauge/oil presssure gauge, carpet, New kenwood Stereo ipod/iphone ready with 4 new

kicker speakers. The tires and rally wheels are in great shape and look brand new!

The rest of the car is completely original.

As you can see in the pictures the paint is not in its prime but the only

spots showing true wear are the top panels...hood, roof and trunk and rest of the

paint looks awesome. The color of the car is Azure Turquoise and that is the origianl color. Most of the car has the origianl paint on it still and all the panels appear

to be original as well. The rest of the exterior is pretty straight and I have looked over this car and found it to appear be rust free!

This car is in great shape for never being fully restored and all this

thing really needs to make it perfect is a nice paint job. I really do not want to

let this thing go. I always dreamed of the day that i could have a car the father

and son worked on together to make it our own and turn our thoughts into reality.

Everytime I drive this car I have a grin from ear to ear and all that happiness

came from that car I was driving...and to sell a car that can make those

butterflies in my stomach go crazy, give me goosebumps and make me giggle like a

little girl may sound crazy..because it is! But again just like the guy i bought it

from...We sometimes fall onto hard time and have to come up with some cash. So i

hope to catch this car in the future sometime to bring back all the memories i made

with it!  Thanks for looking and i hope someone gets to enjoy this thing as much as

I did and more!

The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.

Seized drug dealer's Corvette Z06 joins Texas police fleet

Tue, Sep 22 2015

A police department in Texas caused a stir after they posted pictures of their hot new ride on social media last week. This 2007 Corvette Z06 with dark-tinted windows once belonged to a drug dealer, but was seized in a DEA raid. The feds awarded the Corvette to the New Braunfels Police Department for their help in bringing down the drug distribution ring in the area. When police posted images of the car on their Facebook page, some followers were angry that tax dollars were spent on such an extravagant car. New Braunfels PD were quick to defend themselves. "To be clear, this vehicle was awarded to NBPD as part of an asset distribution from the Federal DEA criminal case of a large drug distribution ring in our area," the New Braunfels PD wrote on their Facebook page. "NBPD was instrumental in helping bring down that drug enterprise. Property seized during the course of an investigation is only awarded to the law enforcement agency after a court has determined that the suspect was involved in criminal activity and the proceeds (money) from that activity (i.e dealing drugs) paid for the items seized. Therefore, no property is given to a law enforcement agency prior to the investigation being completed and tried in a court of law." With a 505 horsepower V8 engine this murdered-out Corvette could outrun most speeders and getaway drivers. As is often the case in instances such as this, however, the 'Vette will be used in community outreach programs rather than as an active-duty cruiser. The department is currently holding a contest asking kids between 8 and 16 years old to find a name for the sports car. Currently, the most liked name is 'Optimus Crime'. A final winner will be chosen by the department on September 22. The kid who picks the name will earn bragging rights, plus a ride in the Corvette when its unveiled at the Comal County Fair Parade this weekend. Related Video:

GM announces $7 billion Michigan factory investment, most going to EVs

Tue, Jan 25 2022

GM announced a $7 billion investment in Michigan manufacturing, much of which is earmarked for EV production. Four sites are included, but the key elements are a new battery cell plant in Lansing and the conversion of GM's existing Orion Township facility to expand production of the forthcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV and its GMC Sierra sibling.  GM says it is the largest investment announcement in company history and that it will create 4,000 new jobs. It also says 1,000 jobs will be retained. "We are building on the positive consumer response and reservations for our recent EV launches and debuts, including the GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Equinox EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV," said GM CEO Mary Barra.  GM says the Orion expansion and new battery plant will support an increase in full-size electric truck production capacity to 600,000 units. This is in addition to the Factory ZERO facility in Detroit that will also be constructing the electric Silverado and Sierra.  The Orion Township factory current builds the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV, and will continue to do so during the plant's conversion. GM did not indicate what will happen with the Bolts once that conversion is complete or whether all will continue to be built at Orion. They do not use the Ultium vehicle architecture. GM will build other EV models at three other factories that are under construction or being converted. They are located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, Ingersoll, Ontario, and Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. GM says that it will have the ability to produce 1 million electric vehicles by 2025. The Ultium Cells Lansing facility is a $2.6 billion joint investment by GM and LG Energy Solution. GM says it alone will create 1,700 jobs once fully operational by late 2024. It will join two other GM Ultium Cells battery factories currently under construction in the United States, one in Ohio and the other in Tennessee.  Not all of the $7 billion investment will be for EVs. It also announced $510 million of the total will go toward upgrading the Lansing Delta Township Assembly to produce the next-generation Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Money will also go to upgrading Lansing Grand River Assembly.
