You are looking at a 1968 L79 Nova with the 327 325HP engine known as the L79. This car is 1 of 1274 cars ordered with the rare L79 motor option in the 1968 Chevrolet Nova. This is a factory floor shift 3 speed car with factory air condition. Only 317 cars didn't get upgraded from a three speed to a four speed. This Borg Warner M13 3 speed was the factory default transmission for the L79 and the L48 Super sport. The car is fully documented back to the original owner. Documentation includes the GM warranty protecto plate, original broadcast sheet, a copy of the original tittle and original registration. This car had a 2 year full rotisserie restoration. Everything is either rebuilt, re-plated, or replaced. A huge list of NOS parts were used. No expense was spared. The car was just featured in the March issue of Hemming's Muscle Machine magazine a 6 page restoration profile article. A truly unique car that is fully documented. This is the only known 1968 L79, 3 speed, fathom blue, AC car known to exist. It may just be 1 of 1? This is your time to own a truly rare car for your collection. Why would you want something everyone else has? The car is being sold as is where is! To clear up a little information on the driveline that is in the car. The day the original owner picked up the car the motor failed 2 miles from the dealership. A replacement L79 short block was installed under warranty. The L79 block casting is 3914678 a large journal block and the casting date is I-22-7 The transmission is original to the car and matches the GM protecto plate. The rear is original and matches the GM protecto plate. The L79 is built to factory specs 11:1 30 over. I have 100's of pictures of the restoration which was done by me. Watch Evo pick its 2015 Car of the Year in this epic video
Mon, Dec 7 2015With just a few days left in 2015, it's the perfect time to check out Evo's annual Car of the Year test to determine the greatest performance vehicle of the last 12 months. The writers' picks for the 11 finalists spanned a breadth of engaging models and included: Peugeot 208 GTi by Peugeot Sport, Lamborghini Aventador SV, Seat Leon Cupra Sub8, McLaren 675LT, Porsche 991 GT3 RS, Porsche Cayman GT4, Honda Civic Type R, Ferrari 488 GTB, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Lotus Evora 400, and Mercedes-AMG GT S. For the venue to test the mettle of these performance machines, Evo stuck close to home this year and visited the twisting roads at the beautiful north coast of Scotland. Racing brothers Marino and Dario Franchitti also came along for the ride to provide two more voices in the competitive challenge to determine a winner. Evo's video explains why each model deserves to be among such rarified company but doesn't gloss over their faults either. There can be only one winner, though. We don't want to spoil it, so check out the clip for magnificent views of these performance machines through the Scottish countryside.
Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
