Body & Paint - Decent yellow paint with white hood stripes. Again, this is a driver quality paint job - from 5 feet away it looks perfect.  Underbody detailed and painted satin black.

Brake System - All new front disc brake conversion set includes new spindles, slotted/drilled rotors,  powder coated calipers, dust shields, bearings, pads, booster, master cylinder, and proportioning valve. All new brake lines front to back. New rear brakes as well.

Suspension / Steering - New 1” Hotchkis coil springs, Hellwig front sway bar, KYB performance shocks and all new bushings.  All suspension parts have been media blasted and painted satin black.  New power steering equipment including pump, gearbox, and hoses.

Wheels & Tires  New 18/8 Boss 338 wheels and new 215/40/18 F & 255/40/18 R tires.  These are a great compliment to the low, lean look of this Nova.

Drive train - Solid 4 speed Borg Warner transmission and 10 bolt rear end with 3.25 gears. This combination makes this car perform well on the freeway.

Engine – 350 V8 - This car has a very solid 350 V8 with and RV cam.  Great performance with reliability.  Edelbrock intake manifold & valve covers and 600 CFM carburetor.  New Pertronix distributor & coil.  New MSD plug wires. All new radiator hoses.  Headers and 3” Flowmaster 40 performance exhaust. The engine has been re-gasketed, painted and detailed.  New Interstate battery and custom made cables.  The engine bay is super clean and all of the wiring has been dressed out so that much is not visible.  What you see is a highly detailed performance motor.  Gets lots of attention at car shows!

Trim - All new emblems and front hood trim.  Many new trim parts throughout the car.  While not an “SS” the car does have SS badges front and rear.

Interior   - Excellent condition black interior.  Front bench and black carpeting.  New dash pad, sun visors, Tach, Oil and Temp gauges.  All door panels and headliner are in great condition.  In dash stereo and four speakers.

Weatherstrip - All new door weather-stripping.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

Tue, 22 Jan 2013

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
