1987 Monte Carlo SS.  Garage kept.  Smoke free.  White exterior, burgundy bucket interior.  The only changes done to this car is the Trans Am shaker scoop and the wheels.  Otherwise completely stock.  Original '87 SS wheels are included(dirty from being outside for a period, inside now).  Just over 94K miles.  Runs well and is very enjoyable to drive.  Exterior is in great shape.  Some chips and signs of use here and there.  Right rear panel has a small spot of surface rust starting, nothing bad, I almost attempted to fix myself.  Interior is near mint.  Replacement am/fm CD player, I do not have the original radio.  Gauges work well.  Oil pressure shows a higher pressure than actually is, a common issue on these.  The wheels are either 80's Trans Am wheels or 80's Buick GNX wheels, not sure.  Center caps are brand new.  I chose the T/A ones because I liked the silver color.  Clean and clear title.  No issues at all.

Options;
A/C, cruise, power windows and locks, tilt wheel, rear defroster.

Things it needs;
Seat belt re-tractor (in door jam).  Replacement part is included and I may be able to install it prior to sale.  Easy part to install.
Driver's side door pins could use replacement.  Common issue with these heavy doors, they start to sag.  Replacement door pin set included.
Could use shocks and brake pads.  Probably just rear shocks and I'm assuming just brake pads.
Tire tread is low but fine for a long while for a fair weather car.
A/C system in in completely in tact but no cold a/c air blows.  Also common with these, many times it is a small leak that can be repaired or re-charged when needed.  Heat works great.

Potential Buyers;
Message me prior to placing a bid or it will be deleted and blocked from future bids.  Let me know where you are located, your phone number and that you are serious to purchase with cash.  I have seen to many re-listings due to no paying "bidders".  These ads cost money.

I have many more high quality pictures to text or e-mail.

It really is a nice example of these great 80's G-bodies.  Its not perfect as it is many years old (qualifies for classic insurance in NY) but certainly not a chopped up backyard project.  I recommend viewing the vehicle prior to buying.  It is priced aggressively, not looking for a million dollars.  Sold as is, no warranty.  I have many more pictures to share or I can meet someone to view it and drive it.  I have no experience with vehicle shipping but could be delivered within reason if agreed upon prior to bidding.

Located in NY, zip 12589 which is Wallkill in lower Ulster County.

Thanks

This map reveals the cleanest vehicles based on location

Thu, Apr 28 2016

Naysayers love to point out how dirty the electricity grid mix is when it comes to charging electric vehicles. Curmudgeons are eager to jump into any conversation about EVs to enlighten the lucky listeners about how plug-in cars contribute to pollution, sometimes even throwing in a dash of climate-change denial for good measure. (Thanks, buddy. Pray, tell me more about the plight of oppressed SUV owners.) Unless someone buys an EV just because they think they're cool (which, yeah, they often are), they probably have at least a passable understanding of their environmental pros and cons. As many EV owners are already aware, location has a lot to do with any particular plug-in car's carbon footprint. Still, there's always more to know, and knowledge is not a bad thing, especially if one uses it to do the right thing. That's why this handy-dandy map from Carnegie Mellon University is so interesting. CMU researchers have compiled information about the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions of various EVs based on where they're charged, as compared to gasoline-powered vehicles. The researchers looked at the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Volt, and Prius Plug-In Hybrid versus the gasoline-dependent Toyota Prius hybrid and the stop-start-equipped Mazda3 with i-ELOOP and compared grams of CO2 emitted per mile. CMU takes into account the grid mix, ambient temperature, and driving patterns. CMU takes into account the grid mix based on county, as well as ambient temperature and driving patterns in terms of miles traveled on the highway or in the city. For instance, if you drive a Nissan Leaf in urban areas of California, Texas, or Florida, your carbon footprint is lower than it would be if you were driving a standard Toyota Prius. However, if you charge your Leaf in the Midwest or the South, for the most part, you've got a larger carbon footprint than the Prius. If you live in the rural Midwest, you'd probably even be better off driving a Mazda3. Throughout the country, the Chevrolet Volt has a larger carbon footprint than the Toyota Prius, but a smaller one than the Mazda3 in a lot of urban counties in the US. The Prius and Prius Plug-In are relatively equal across the US. Having trouble keeping it straight? That's not surprising. The comparisons between plug-in and gasoline vehicles are much more nuanced than the loudest voices usually let on.

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
