1998 Chevrolet Malibu Ls Sedan 4-door 3.1l on 2040-cars
Cadillac, Michigan, United States
I have owned this car for three years and have mostly just driven it in town, with a few longer trips.
It has been a reliable car; aside from regular maintenance, it has only needed a transmission sensor and a new spark plug, parts and service for both instances not exceeding $150.
In both instances, the car still ran well, but a service light was lit up, so I had a mechanic inspect the car both times.
The car still runs well, but in the near future it will need a new intake manifold gasket.
The brakes were serviced very recently. The front brake pads were replaced, and the rear brakes were adjusted.
The lower front control arm/bushings is worn out and loose.
The car does have some rust by the rear wheels.
The interior is in great condition.
The headlights look extremely foggy in some of the pictures, but that is from the direct sunlight; they are much clearer in some of the other pictures.
I usually get 22 mpg in mixed city/highway driving and 33 mpg highway.

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehiclesFri, 04 Jan 2013
As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Indian tuner turns Chevy Optra into Mustang 'Eleanor' replicaFri, 03 Aug 2012
If you are a big fan of automotive oddities, this may come as a little treat. If you are a Shelby or Mustang diehard, prepare to have your sensibilities violated.
The master fabricators at BigDaddyCustoms are the minds behind what you see above. At first, it appears to be a slightly misshapen custom Mustang, modeled after "Eleanor" from Gone In 60 Seconds, but upon further examination, something appears to be amiss. In fact, the custom shop, based in India, has created an Eleanor replica grafted upon a lowly Chevrolet Optra. While it may take a second for the Optra to ring a bell, you should recognize its badge-engineered sibling, the Daewoo Lacetti, used on Top Gear.
We don't know what star would opt for the Reasonably Priced Car in Shelby's clothing, but it's clearly someone more concerned with the aesthetic than the performance credentials of this automotive mash-up.
