Thanks for checking out this cool ride offered by M.E.S. Motorsports; where our cars are notorious for Making Everyone Stare! What we have for sale here is a super solid and original 1970 Chevelle Malibu. This has been a southern car(per previous owner) and is virtually rust free, very clean and runs nicely. This is a great car to drive to the local shows just the way it is or great platform for an LS swap or SS clone. History – We picked this Chevelle up from a local collector that was needing to make some room in his garage. Drivetrain – This Chevelle retains the numbers matching 350 V8 that has a newer Edelbrock carb on it. We just went through it and put in a new cam, lifters, seals, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, fresh fluids etc. Motor runs excellent and fires right up even after sitting for several days. The smooth running motor is paired with a TH350 transmission that has just been gone through and serviced by Advanced Transmissions here in town. Car is equipped with 12 bolt rear end. New Flowmaster exhaust give this setup a nice rumble cruising down the road. Factory power steering and power drum brakes make this car easy to drive. Starter was just rebuilt as well. The odometer states 12k and some change but am sure that's not original as the odometer has stopped working. Overall this is an excellent driving car to just get it, turn the key and go! Exterior – The car was painted by the previous owner and is presentable to drive around but could stand a repaint to take this car to the next level. Its a single stage paint that appears was never cut or block sanded before paint. The body is straight with no apparent rust and would require little prep work to be repainted from what we can tell. All body panels appear to be original. As with any car this age, I always assume that there is some filler or bondo even if only minor. However, we see no signs of anything major on this car. Vinyl top is in excellent shape with little to no signs of wear. Chrome bumpers look new. Glass is excellent. Grill has been blacked out and looks really cool. Underneath - Solid is what comes to mind with this one. Floors, frame, the whole underside of the car is solid. It has not been coated or sprayed and we left it that way so that you could really see how nice it is. Took plenty of pictures. Interior – The interior is very clean and well kept. Black bench seats, Newer black carpet, aftermarket steering wheel, am/fm cassette with 2 6x9's in the rear deck lid. All interior panels are very nice and the dash is perfect. Windshield wipers work nicely. Factory AC car with everything still under the hood. Compressor clicks on but doesn't blow cold. May need Freon. Heat works great. Suspension - Stock with no known modifications. Wheel/Tires – New 15" Torque Thrusts II's with like new rubber give this one the right stance! Front tires are Kumho 225/60R15 and the rears are Hankook Ventus 275/60R15. Known issues – Some paint bubbling on the hood and a tiny amount on the rear deck. Some minor overspray here and there. Windshield wiper motor cover has damage. Drivers headrest is torn and there is some wear on the drivers door armrest pad. Speedometer light and dome light are not currently working. AC doesn't blow cold, believe it needs freon. When the blower motor is turned to high is stops working but works great on every other setting. Title - Clean and clear "open" title. Motorsports, LLC was founded and started by myself and my best friend of almost 30 years now. While M.E.S. was “officially” put into action around 2012, it really started back in the 90’s during our high school days. Even back then we were in each other’s garage every weekend working on our cars. We have always shared the same enthusiasm for that one thing…..Automobiles! Hot rods, classics, customs, sports cars, fast cars, loud cars, basically anything with 4 wheels and an engine. For as long as I can remember we’ve always enjoyed “playing” with cars and recently decided to share our passion and creativity with others and thus M.E.S. Motorsports, LLC was officially launched . At this time we are not licensed car dealers but rather auto enthusiasts with a passion for buying and selling cars to and from other auto enthusiasts and collectors. Our goal is to sell cars that you can actually get into and drive anywhere! We believe that cars are actually meant to be driven on the road and not just stored. A lot of the cars that we find are from individuals who are simply not using them anymore or that started restoring them but never finished. Some cars may just need some cleaning and a tune up while other may need paint or finish work. Whatever the case is, we try to address any issues and get them road worthy. We hate to see any car just sitting, rotting or not being used. We believe that everyone out there should have the car of their dreams and that they should be able to drive it anywhere they want to go! Chevy Silverado gets star-studded treatment at SEMA
Tue, Nov 3 2015Chevrolet has quite a presence ready for the 2015 SEMA Show, including custom takes on the Camaro and Spark. As one of the company's most popular models, the Silverado isn't left out of the fun, either, thanks to a trio of concepts to highlight what's possible for the aftermarket event. Camouflage is supposed to blend in, but the naval-inspired, Razzle Dazzle design on the Silverado Special Ops Concept should make the truck pop under the lights at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Based on a Silverado 1500 Z71, the pickup is conceived as a "rescue vehicle special-operations forces." To get behind enemy lines, it packs extra LED lighting, wheel flares for off-road tires, and a GearOn utility rack in the bed. Plus to help get away, Chevy Performance fits an air intake, exhaust kit, and concept six-piston brakes. The Silverado Realtree Bone Collector Concept (above) also wears camo for SEMA, but it's for enjoying the outdoors rather than getting out of battle. Camouflage company Realtree and The Bone Collector host Michael Waddell help with the design for this custom truck that features 22-inch black wheels, a front push bar, LED light bar, and assist steps all from Chevy Accessories. With leather upholstery, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto inside, the drive to and from the woods should be comfortable, as well. The Silverado 3500HD Kid Rock Concept rounds out this trio and features patriotic styling from the eponymous rock star. "I wanted the design for the truck to be bold, but with features and elements that wouldn't be out of reach for working-class guys," he said about the design, and Kid Rock even visited the factory in Flint, MI, to meet members from UAW Local 598 for some inspiration. The result features a custom chrome grille with a Born Free logo and chrome exhaust stacks. For added excitement, two Gibbs Sports Quadskis are hooked up on the trailer behind it. It is based on the Silverado 1500 Z71, which features a new front-end design and new technologies built into its strong, high-strength steel body structure and fully boxed frame, and draws its design inspiration from naval design aesthetics.
Driving McLaren's Sports Car and 'The Best Corvette' at the M1 Concourse | AutoblogVR
Wed, Apr 12 2017There's nothing better than a track day. Great cars on a great track are always great fun. Recently, we had the opportunity to check out the new M1 Concourse in Pontiac, MI, with two of the coolest cars in the game; a McLaren 570S and a Corvette Grand Sport. Driving the 570S was Autoblog senior editor Greg Migliore, and he didn't hold back. Getting behind the wheel of the McLaren, Greg explains that although this is McLaren's idea of a sports car, "it's all relative." Topping out at 204 miles per hour with 562 horsepower, there's no two ways about it: this thing is a monster. While the 570S was fantastic, we had another sports car we wanted to drive and editor-in-chief Mike Austin was just the man for the job. Enter the Corvette Grand Sport. Mike pushed all 460 horses of the 'Vette to the limit and came away impressed with the car, even calling it "the best Corvette." Comparing it to its more powerful sibling, the Z06, Mike goes so far as to say the Z06 has too much power, while the Grand Sport seems to be the third bear's bowl of porridge in the Corvette family... It's just right. We captured all the action of the day with 360° cameras so you can feel like you're right there in the car sitting shotgun with us! You can check out the McLaren and Corvette laps above, but the best way to view them is through the AutoblogVR app, where you can watch the videos on your VR headset or in a nice swivel-y office chair so you can take in the sights all around you. Each month, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll be posting them here on Autoblog, but for the best experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play. Be sure to try it with a cardboard viewer, too!
