Selling this 1970 Chevelle Malibu for a friend of mine. He purchased this car a few months ago with intentions of modifying this car and turning into a daily driver. He had some things come up and now does not have the time or space to do needed work and would like to see this car go to a new home.

This car as far as he knows was not an original SS. Information he has on car is from previous owner and he did not go over thoroughly or tear into anything since he has had the car. There is some receipts and paperwork that were included with the car. The motor is a 406 Chevy small block with a 750 demon carburetor. Transmission is believed to be 350 auto TH trans. Rear is 10 bolt unknown gear ratio. Car was modified quite a bit. Shifter was installed on floor. It appears it would have been on the column from the factory. Unknown mileage on the current motor/trans. MSD ignition installed. Steel cowl induction hood installed. Interior appears to be original. Driver seat has tears in it. Refer to photos. Wiring is a bit of mess. Headliner needs to be replaced. has working headlights and turn signals. Both driver side and passenger side windows roll up and down. The rear windows will need work as they do not roll up and down. Radio installed and speakers but does not work. It has drum brakes all around. Has no gas tank. Fuel cell was installed w/electric fuel pump. NOS tank also installed but hadn't been hooked up. Battery is in trunk. Refer to photo. No wipers or wiper motor. Rust is in usual spots for this car around trunk deck, edges of windows, door sills, etc. Believe panel skins were added to the rear quarters there is rust on lower quarters. Body is straight, doors line up and open and close no problem. Chrome is in decent shape some pitting on front and rear bumper. Trunk, floor, fenders feel pretty solid. It appears car was coated with undercoating at some point in its life. Frame seems to be ok. Dual exhaust installed but turn down at front of rear axle. Wheels are 15" rally wheels with center caps and beauty rings. Front tires ok, rear ones could use replacement. Car has a few scrapes and dents. Front driver fender has a small dent. Passenger fender and door have dent and scrape. Refer to photo. Passenger rear chrome over wheel well is scraped. Cowl hood has some chips on driver side back corner. Decent quality paint job. Glass windows all ok. Has brand new lowering springs which will be included with the car. Some suspension work was done to the car (refer to photos) but not sure what was all changed/replaced.

This car has not been driven since purchase and has been garaged. It is believed the freeze out plugs in motor are leaking. Antifreeze has been leaking out onto the floor. Not 100% confirmed but this appears to be culprit. I am no mechanic and am not portraying to be. Please feel free to come out and take a look at the car before bidding. Car is in 19526 area code (Hamburg, PA). Email me

This is a decent car overall, seems solid and I believe has some good potential. I just want to be as honest as possible and explain as much as is believed to be known about the car. Don't want to waste anyone's time nor mine.

He has clean title for the car in hand!!

Please refer to photos for any additional information on the car which I might have forgot to mention. Feel free to contact me with questions and I will try answer them as best as I can, but please do not bombard me with questions.

Sorry no trades!!!

CAR IS BEING SOLD AS IS!!! NO WARRANTY! Please do not bid unless you plan on buying! This car will need to be picked up by trailer or will work with shipper of buyers choice.

$500 deposit due within 3 days after auction.

Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo could only work in a video game [w/video]

Thu, Nov 20 2014

There's something wondrous about the Vision Gran Turismo series of concepts that has let companies go wild with completely imaginary concepts for Gran Turismo. For Chevrolet's crack at the idea, it has taken a page out of its performance past with the Chaparral Can-Am racers of the '60s and '70s, with its designers having reinterpreted that period look for the future of motorsports as the Chaparral 2X. In real life, the 2X looks even better than in earlier photos. The design takes inspiration from someone in a flying suit with head down and arms outstretched, an influence you can really see that in the vehicle's shape. The driver lies facedown inside with the instruments projected onto a visor. Unfortunately, the powertrain here is a complete flight of fancy and works purely in the video game world. It imagines a laser propelled by lithium-ion batteries and an air-powered generation to make 900 horsepower. The 2X has a theoretical top speed of 240 miles per hour and hits 60 mph in a lightning-quick 1.5 seconds. Scroll down to see the concept on video with Chevrolet designers describing their inspiration and read the company's full announcement. It's also downloadable in Gran Turismo 6. Chevrolet to Show Chaparral Vision Gran Turismo Concept Boundary-pushing, Chevy-powered race cars changed motorsports design DETROIT – When racers Jim Hall and Hap Sharp founded Chaparral Cars in 1962, few could have guessed how they would shake up the conformities of the racing world – and fundamentally change it. Through pioneering applications of aerodynamics and aerospace technology, and a partnership with Chevrolet Research and Development, Chaparral Cars advanced the science of racing cars. It also triumphed on the track over well-established sports car companies from around the world, using Chevrolet horsepower. It was that spirit of innovation that inspired the Chevrolet Chaparral 2X VGT concept race car developed for the Vision Gran Turismo project, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of PlayStation® racing game Gran Turismo by inviting manufacturers to give fans a glimpse into the future of automotive design. It will debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nov. 19, and gamers will be able race the Chaparral 2X VGT following the release of an online update for Gran Turismo 6 during the holiday season.

Opel's version of the Chevy Bolt will confuse people at Paris Motor Show

Fri, Aug 26 2016

Two things are now official. First, Opel will reveal the Ampera-e, or the European version of the Chevrolet Bolt, at the Paris Motor Show in October. Second, General Motors has outdone itself in brand confusion, topping the Bolt/Volt ridiculousness. Opel isn't giving a single-charge range for the Ampera-e but the company is promising a "significantly longer range" than other electric vehicles. The Bolt is estimated to have a 200-mile range on the EPA scale, so whatever the Opel achieves on the European cycle will be done with the same batteries and motor as the Chevy. Opel is also looking to appeal to the auto enthusiasts with other factoids, which are basically just Bolt stats translated into metric. For instance, the Ampera-e will be able to go 0 to 50 kilometers per hour (which is 31 miles per hour to us Americans, but we're talking Europe here) in just 3.2 seconds. And for those looking to stay connected, as many as seven mobile devices can attached to the car's wireless hot spot. GM said in February that the European of the Bolt would be available across the pond next year, so the most recent bit of news isn't shocking. Still, General Motors continues to create confusion between all-electric Bolt and the extended-range plug-in Volt. It's already been reported that the Korean symbol and pronunciation of what is "B" in English is identical to the English "V," meaning that there is no difference between "Bolt" and "Volt" in that country (though there are no plans to sell the Bolt in South Korea as of yet). Now, in Europe, they're taking the name they used to use for the European of the Volt — Ampera — and merely adding an "-e" at the end of it. For those looking to be less confused, take a look at Opel's press release here. 2014 Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra full configurators truck in

Sat, 15 Jun 2013

You can now put prices to your wildest option-sheet dreams of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. A microsite for the full-size pickup truck twins has been up since January, and now the full-blown configurator is live and ready to take your virtual orders. The only two chassis configurations available at the moment are the Crew Cab with either a short or standard bed - Regular and Double Cab versions will come later. In Silverado flavors that will run you $32,710 for the short box, $33,010 for the standard box, while the Sierra adds a $1,500 premium to both of those prices, and destination and handling for both models adds another $995.
Since these are American pickups the list of modifications is lengthy, but we added $11,450 in just two steps by starting with the Silverado Crew Cab and standard bed, then checking four-wheel drive and the LTZ Z71 package. Our final truck, resplendent in Brownstone Metallic paint, heated and cooled Cocoa/Dune perforated leather seating and tasty details like chrome recovery hooks, and engine block heater and LED cargo box lighting, rang up $57,285 at the candy store.
They'll be on dealer lots sometime this summer, so now's a good time to start practicing your box-checking.
