Very smooth and strong running 97 Lumina. Great affordable car to commute with (should get 25-28mpg Hwy) or just everyday driving.2nd owner since about 30,000 miles.Records can prove oil changes from that time to the current 110,000 mile mark every 3000 miles along with 2 separate transmission service and coolant service. This car is quite mechanically sound at this time. The engine runs great from idle all the way up and the transmission shifts smooth. The suspension is very solid and the ride is stable. Exhaust, tires, and brakes are just fine. Parking brake is functional. A/C is cool and may need a recharge. This is a 6 passenger car as 3 adults can ride in front. I just shampooed the interior. It is clean but has some minor stains that will come out with additional cleaning on the front seats. I also just did alot of mechanical work which will save the winning bidder alot of money or time considering what you would normally expect to be dealing with when buying a car in this low price range. The starter was replaced at 85,000 miles, the water pump at 106,000 and everything else mentioned below is what i just did to the car ( I do all of the work myself so I took the time to service or change everything that had to be taken apart to complete the job)
-Fuel Pump
-Intake Manifold Gaskets
The entire top of the engine is basically taken apart to change the gaskets so the following was replaced while in the process:
Serpentine belt, Spark plugs, ignition wires, air filter, valve cover gaskets, Throttle body and EGR valve gaskets (those items also cleaned of all carbon deposits), PCV valve, fuel injector seals, Intake manifold bolts as well, new P/S fluid, Coolant flush, and 2 Oil changes to get everything fresh.
The only minor defects are in the body which you should be able to see in the photos. I hit a deer and had to replace the driver's side fender with a brand new one. The paint is not matched perfectly as you notice from close up. The windshield has a chip taken out of it at that corner which is half moon shaped only 1.5 inches. This will not spread out onto the windshield. The front of the door has very minor denting and dings from the deer. The driver's side door upper molding is a bit bent starting to come undone. The rest of the car looks great body wise with very good paint. Please feel free to call with any questions @203-570-8217. Thanks

GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall
Tue, Apr 14 2015Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. GM alerting truck and sedan owners to a do-over on brake recall
Wed, Jan 29 2020A recall campaign intended to address issues with braking systems on certain 2019 General Motors trucks and sedans may have introduced a new issue, the automaker has acknowledged, and thousands of owners driving repaired vehicles may need to return to their service departments for another update. The update addresses a fix that was pushed out to owners of more than half a million brand-new GM trucks and sedans that could potentially lose partial braking function, according to the Detroit Free Press. The original software fix helped address situations where the vehicles' anti-lock braking systems would become disabled, which in turn would prevent electronic stability control from activating. Vehicles subject to the recall would often experience software glitches that prevented them from properly communicating the operational state of these systems, meaning drivers would have no idea that their brakes may not behave as expected in an emergency. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Cadillac CT6, and GMC Sierra 1500 were all recalled in the original campaign. Unfortunately, the early version of this fix appears to have introduced yet another software glitch, indicating that the original fix did not do the trick. Those who have not yet had their cars serviced can rest easy; they will only receive the most up-to-date version of the software fix. Related video  Â
