NO RESERVE DON'T WAIT AS CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY

Up for your consideration is a great looking and rare American icon, a 1972 Chevrolet Impala 4 Door Sedan!  When was the last time you saw one of these great rides at a local car show or Sunday drive?

This 1972 Impala has 14k miles on it and title indicates actual, it also drives like it.

I will tell you it rides amazing, and the interior has held up well.  This car is presently titled and driven locally without any issues, noises, or rattles.  It is so easy to steer and brake for such a large car – it is a true pleasure to drive!  The car was painted 6 months ago, and she does have some scratches, but nothing that an't be touched up.

Exterior:

As noted, the car was repainted about 6 months ago.  It is a nice repaint and shines very nice. There are some scratches, but clearly nothing major.  It presents very nice and it gets alot of compliments.

These pictures were taken today, 8/28/13 - so one can evaluate for themselves!  There is no rust or rot anywhere on this car.  There are no signs of any accidents or "hidden" patches etc.

The drivers side rear door does not open from the outside, but opens from the inside and does lock.  Most likely the exterior handle is not connecting to the locking mechanism.

All other doors function properly!

The trunk is solid - no rust under the mat.  Take a look at the spare tire, it looks like it was never used and is still with the car!

Underneath:

The car has held up quite well, no accidents, rust, or holes. Truly a well cared for car!

Interior:

The pictures speak for themselves! It is original to the car and is almost perfect.  Note:  The only issue looks like there rear carpet on the passenger side had something spill on it as it it badly discolored and quite frail.  There underlying floor is solid, and not rust. Perhaps at some point in time, there was something stored there?  I do not know.  However, it does have the original floor mat and I normally have it covered.

Documentation:

The car has the original sales invoice from "Hrold Gottsacker Chevrolet, Cadillac Sheboygan Wisconson", dated June 12, 1972, The car was $4185.75!

Also included are:

- Owners Manual

- Protecto Plate

- Wheel Cover Instruction Sheet

- Emissions Manual

Maintenance:

Invoices from 2011 reveal:

- New Rear Shocks

- All belts and hoses replaced

- Gas filter

- Brake Fluid Flush and Wiper Blades

Engine and Transmission:

As you can see the engine bay is clean and it runs great! The new owner can detail the block if he or she chooses.

The car sounds, drives and shifts great - no slippage noises or concerns.

Drivability:

Simply put, this car is a pleasure to drive!  It has great acceleration, good braking with no squeaks or pulling.  It is a nice quiet ride!  The steering and suspension is smooth and easy to manage.  I am sure you heard of riding on your living room sofa?  This is the epitome of that! This car is presently registered and insured and is driven around town.  I get a lot of looks, smiles and “thumbs up”!  This car can be used right now and can be taken to local cruise nights.  The good thing?  It is a running / driving car as is – ready for the remainder of summer or those early fall Sunday drives!

Millionth Corvette now being restored after sinkhole damage

Thu, Jun 11 2015

Among the original American sports cars that were damaged by the sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum over a year ago was a 1992 convertible that was the millionth Vette made. And now that milestone vehicle is starting its restoration process. The landmark Corvette's rehabilitation is being carried out by the GM Design Center in Warren, MI, by a team of skilled craftsmen and technicians. The crew is more accustomed to building prototypes and concepts, but will face a new challenge in bringing this millionth Corvette back to its original condition. The white-over-red convertible was one of eight Corvettes that were swallowed up by the sinkhole at the museum in Bowling Green early in the morning on February 12, 2014. Five will be preserved in their compromised condition as part of a display demonstrating the effects of the sinkhole, while the remaining three were earmarked for restoration. The Design Center team has already completely the restoration of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 "Blue Devil" prototype, while the remaining 1962 Corvette will be restored by the museum. The restoration crew is part of GM's Mechanical Assembly group at the Design Center, which typically spends its time building prototype and concept vehicles. The white 1992 Corvette is a challenge because rather than build an all-new vehicle from the ground up, the workers are trying to preserve the original appearance of a production vehicle. It is the second of three sinkhole-damaged Corvettes that Chevrolet has pledged to restore. The first, a 2009 Corvette ZR1 prototype known as the Blue Devil, was only lightly damaged and was returned to its original condition last fall. The National Corvette Museum will oversee the restoration of the third car, a 1962 Corvette. Five other Corvettes swallowed by the sinkhole will remain in their as-recovered state to preserve the historical significance of the cars. They will become part of a future sinkhole-themed display at the museum. Sinkhole summary On Wednesday, Feb.

GM recalling 15k midsize pickups over leaky brakes

Mon, Jun 8 2015

General Motors has announced a recall in coordination with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration related to the brakes on the 2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. In the 14,838 units in the United States estimated to be affected, the front brake calipers may be leaking fluid. Needless to say, that could make them less effective, which could hinder the vehicle's ability to stop in time to avoid a collision. The affected units were all manufactured between January 6 and December 24, 2014. The fix seems simple and straightforward enough, with dealers being instructed to inspect the front brake calipers, and replace them if necessary. See below for all the details from NHTSA. RECALL Subject : Brake Fluid Leak Report Receipt Date: MAY 12, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V278000 Component(s): SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC Potential Number of Units Affected: 14,838 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon trucks manufactured January 6, 2014, to December 24, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience the front brake calipers leaking brake fluid. This is due to air pockets, an imperfection in the metal caliper body. CONSEQUENCE: If the vehicle experiences a brake fluid leak it can increase the stopping distance, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. REMEDY: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the front-brake calipers if necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 10, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14888. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
