2002 Chevrolet Impala Ls - 2 Owners - Very Clean!! on 2040-cars
Lawrenceville, Georgia, United States
You are looking at our 2002 Chevrolet Impala LS. It might possibly be one of the cleanest well maintained Impala's you have seen in awhile. We purchased it from the original owner who purchsed it new from Bill Heard Chevrolet in Buford Ga. so it has been a southern rust free car all of it's life. It is well equipped as you would expect an LS model to be. It has a power driver's seat, front bucket seats with a console and an automatic on the floor. Other options include tilt steering, steering wheel mounted controls, driver and passenger temperature controls, ice cold a/c, power windows and locks, keyless entry (with 2 keys and 2 remotes), power trunk, factory am/fm compact disc stereo with RDS and speed compensated volume control, a factory rear spoiler, cruise control, On-Star, and 4 matching Goodyear Assurance tires mounted on factory aluminum wheels. In the time we have owned it I have replaced the front upper engine mounts, thermostat and gasket, and temperature sending unit. I have also installed a new battery and new headlight assemblies (old ones were foggy and just looked bad). The interior is in fantastic shape with no rips, holes, funny smells, or stains. There are even rubber floor mats over the OEM floor mats!! We have also recently had the GM recall completed for the spark plug wire harnesses. As a matter of fact my wife just had the oil changed last week. This car is a real head turner and commands attention wherever we take it. The only reason we are selling it is because we just purchased a new 2014 vehicle. Even though the car is in great condition and looks great, PLEASE remember this is a 12 year old car and you should expect some wear and tear. There are of course a couple of minor scratches, etc. If you would like any specific pictures please let me know. I will not ship this car, however if you are not from the area I will be happy to work with a shipper that you hire. If you would like to see the car in person (which I would HIGHLY encourage) feel free to contact me through E-Bay or you can call me directly at 678-873-2621. I have set the reserve to what I feel is a reasonable price, so bid to win. Also remember that your bid is a binding contract, not a deposit to take a look at it then decide you don't want it. Please ask all questions before bidding, and keep in mind it is being sold as is with no warranty. Bid with confidence after you check my 100% feedback. I have had buyers come in from Tn; S.C. and Va. to purchase 3 of my other vehicles I have sold. I really hate to see this car go, it has been a reliable and fun car to own for sure. We do hold a clear title so it is ready for it's new owner. Thank you for looking and Happy Bidding!!

Leno drives Ringbrothers' latest, 1966 Chevy Chevelle Recoil
Tue, Mar 3 2015Jay Leno has been checking out quite a few older rides in his garage as of late, but has mixed things up a little this week. Ringbrothers took home an award at the 2014 SEMA Show for the 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle it named Recoil, and now the car has proven it can do more than just look good on Jay Leno's Garage. While the latest guest might look vintage, underneath those classic lines is a thoroughly modern muscle car sporting a claimed 980 horsepower. The heart of this beast is a supercharged LS7 V8 from Wegner Motorsports and a six-speed Tremec manual gearbox. Even with so much power, it can still run on 91-octane pump gas, and when Jay gets on the throttle the result is a wall of sound from the wailing supercharger. Despite the muscle, the Recoil doesn't really scream about its performance aesthetically. The color is a surprisingly plain beige, but the carbon fiber touches and side exhaust certainly indicate that there's something special here. The owner's sole request for the car was to include metal seats, and Ringbrothers provided them with a few bits of leather offering a touch of comfort. After checking the Recoil out from stem to stern, Leno finally gets behind the wheel and treats our ears to pull after pull from that big, supercharged V8.
New auto loans could soon extend out to 84 months
Sun, Apr 22 2018Cars and trucks are more expensive than ever before. In order to boost sales and help consumers afford new vehicles, automakers are offering longer and longer terms for auto loans. This past week, Bloomberg reported that FCA's Ram Trucks division is currently offering the longest loans. Some stretch to 73 months. Jeep, Fiat and Chevy aren't far behind. More noteworthy is that we'll likely soon see lenders moving from 73-month to 84-month loans. That's seven years worth of interest. More than two-thirds of US auto sales come from light trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500. The average transaction price of a new vehicle is well over $30,000. It's not difficult to spec out a heavily-optioned truck up to $60,000. Vehicles depreciate from the moment they roll off a dealer lot, and these six or seven-year loans could hurt consumers and lenders both in the long run. The U.S. Senate voted last week to kill rules that would prevent discriminatory auto lending. These Obama-era guidelines were meant to curtail lenders who offered higher loans based on race, religion, sex or national origin. 'Killing a Duramax' Gale Banks YouTube series methodically tunes a diesel to death
Thu, Feb 27 2020Learning or perfecting a skill by watching YouTube videos is known as attending YouTube University. GM Authority picked up on one of the video site's more fascinating courses, hosted by Gale Banks; in a fair world, he should be referred to as Professor Banks when it comes to diesel engines and truck tuning. A few months after GM introduced the updated L5P 6.6-liter Duramax diesel V8 in the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD that ships with 454 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque, Banks decided he wanted to methodically tune the engine to death. The purpose of the resulting series, called "Killing a Duramax," is to push more power out of the engine in order to discover which parts break and when — or, as Banks puts it, force-feed the Duramax "until the crank hits the street and the heads hit the hood." With that knowledge, Banks can figure out all the weak points on his way to building what he calls a "Superturbo," that being a supercharged, twin-turbo race engine with more than 1,000 hp. What makes the series fascinating is Banks' knowledge, paired with the company's comprehensive iDash engine monitoring system that keeps tabs on a glut of parameters every step of the way. So for instance, you get Banks explaining the differences between inches of mercury and barometric pressure, how those are different from the water content of the air measured in grains, then showing those readouts on the iDash, then explaining in detail how they affect the air density in the Duramax system. The stock Borg-Warner variable turbo gets a lot of airtime — Banks accuses it of being "out to lunch" because he feels it's the weakest link on the engine. That turns into a turbo teardown and a deep explanation of performance pitfalls, such as when air pressure on the turbine begins to diverge from the boost pressure coming from the compressor. Banks says he can keep close tabs on where power's coming from, because the iDash monitors the horsepower contribution provided by the ambient air, the turbo, and the intercooler separately. The major changes so far are a stouter Precision 7675 turbo and TurboSmart wastegate (episode 5), a twin intake (episode 6), a custom liquid-cooled intercooler from a marine engine, a new GM oil cooler and synthetic oil (episode 10), and new injectors (episode 11).
